Another lovely delicate piece. I really like your compositions, they have a nice airy feel to them. I think the lack of variation really doesn't matter here because it is such a short piece. If you developed this into a larger piece of music then, yes, absolutely you would want to vary the orchestration, modulate more and so on. As it stands, a very nice miniature, very relaxing and very evocative of the subject matter.

I see you are a dorian lover as well! Love the fantasy vibes; sounds like a bard song played in a tavern. Keep up the good work!

Indeed, a medieval atmosphere for a film. Very nice! 🙂JM.

"We're back in the 1500s, sire, what shall we do?"
"This seems like a nice banger in the background. Let's dance, shall we?"
      "But sir, I can't dan-"
"Oh, who CARES, bro, just dance!"

The theme is good, but i would rather listen to a revised version where you actually develop your theme to be more interesting, add more variation, modulate the piece to different keys, use a second (or third) subject, make the orchestration more interesting, have more sections etc. In the present it's very bare bone, and more like a sketch than a full blown piece to me. Also flute plays the melody through out the piece (occasionally the harp but kinda repeats the whole thing without variation), which is a big no-no, you should let other instrument sections take over and really vary that orchestration a bit. All of these are tips though. Maybe i will write a short mockup of what i'm talking about if i'll will have a bit of freetime based on your piece and post it here.

Perhaps I had a different interpretation of the song, but I thought the simplicity of the orchestration was the point. Sounds like a tavern music performed by just a small traveling group of musicians. I do agree with your suggestions though because variation is something I'm trying to implement in my own pieces. Though I thought the amount of instruments and variation were appropriate for this song in particular. Keep in mind, I'm still a new composer myself so my knowledge is limited, but that was my point of view when listening.

or he want to let it simple. Somtimes your view and opinion is not for all. Seriously some here can't just appreciate what the people offer. It's a very cool piece and sometimes people dont want variation.

What an electric comment section here haha😅. To clarify, I'm just a simplistic guy so simple music is common with me. Sometimes I challenge myself with bigger, more ambitious tracks, sometimes I don't.
Constructive criticism is always welcome here! (I'd be happy if you do something based on what I've done).
I'm also glad to see that my music is getting so much attention!🤣
