i appreciate the disclaimer at the beginning, i like dark romance but i feel like not enough people really warn you when recommending these books that some can get a biiiiit...... grapey. no one should just go in blind thinking its gonna be a fun lil romance and get triggered. also would not want younger readers to grow up thinking some things are okay so i appreciate you saying that part too

Girl, you need to read CM Stunich if you have not already. She is the Queen of dark romance with crazy plots. Most of her books are RH (but not all) so I don’t know if that is a deal breaker. She’s got an Alice in Wonderland series that is fantastic. She’s got a standalone that has a Groundhogs Day vibe. She’s got some academy stories that are fantastic. One is a poor girl in a rich school. Another is where the FMC is the only girl at an all boys academy and she starts off dressing up like a boy. She’s got some alien romance. She’s got a book where the FMC is a daughter of a serial killer and he’s stalking her and forcing her to do horrible things. She’s got some high school gangs that have super powerful females that become so badass. She also just released a book where the FMC’s family is cursed and when they meet their soulmate, they have one year to make that person fall in love with them or they both die. Amazing!! Seriously, you could deep dive into her stories and I promise, you will fall in love.

I’ve read some dark romances but my main problem with them are the fandoms where mostly young girls (about 15) defend the male characters as if they didn’t cross lines that would be unforgivable irl. This has honestly kept me away, but with this recommendations i’ll start again thx 💗💗💗
