Love your channel I’m gonna go this weekend! Hopefully I catch something I’m planning for mackerel for cut bait and then hopefully I get on a nice halibut!
Ahoy Youreverydayrider! Thank you so much for your awesome comment, and I hope my content helps make for a fun day. If halibut is your target, you may want to go with the smaller hook Sabiki rig, and use live smelt as your bait on a sliding-egg sinker setup. Mackerel will also work, but you will have to tolerate the sharks and rays that will dominate your catch. Best of luck on your trip... and thank you so much for the new SUBSCRIBE!
You can cast overhand on a pier as long as no one is behind you fact they don’t stop you from casting over head and to catch mackerel use a sybiky fact mackerel amd smelt bite on the top and bottom both
@@grumpygnomefishing Of course. Went there yesterday and caught a small perch on my sabiki! No luck other than that but I'm glad I spent the day outside. Any recommendations for time of day?
@@rylan3917 It was awesome meeting you at Seal Beach Pier on Fri. 2/10/23, I'm glad we got a little action (stingray), and I should probably post times/dates for future trips. I hope to see you on the water again soon!
You can only fish 2 rods at a time, thank you for mentioning that. Too many people disregard this rule. Great informative video sir.
