PS2 emulation is weird. It's either really good or really bad depending on the game, but it generally runs more accurately using your PC's CPU over the graphics card from my experience (tho it lags more). The system itself is really weird. The console has its own proprietary processor and GPUs (the Emotion Engine and the 2 "Graphics Synthesizers"). While the GameCube is technically more powerful in terms of hardware, it's easier to emulate because it used off-the-shelf parts to ease in development. The XBOX has a similar issue, though it mainly pertains to the graphics hardware it uses more than anything.
Gamecube used Nvidia tech =p and sony has always made the dumbest system archtypes in the history of mankind. 3D but no analogue stick? a disc tray that fails and caused a redesign ( twice ) PS3.. Cell. need I say more? xD My biggest complaint is klonoa 2 is virtually unplayable in emulation bc sony had to make weird tech.

Don't remember if it was actually the case or just an assumption because the timer ran out, but he pointed out that the game doesn't let you pause (forfeits the round if you go over the timer regardless)
