C. J., your show us, don’t just tell us approach is so very well done and appreciated by us that struggle with auditory learning. When I try to learn something being taught in an auditory manner, all I get is a bunch of blah, blah, blah. I just get lost, confused, and down on myself. Thank you for not assuming we are all able to catch on quick like a rabbit. Your slowing down and showing approach is wonderful.❤️👏🙏❤️👏🙏❤️
I'm so happy to hear that you find my content so helpful! Thank you so much for the kind words.
If only one person would be helped through my lessons, I am proud drummer! :D
The way you explain things is so logical and no bs, thanks for that!
I can show this to my 10yr old cousing and she will understand everything you say.
Keep up the good work, CJ!!!
I'm so glad you think so! Have fun practicing together :D
Simply Awesome! This is what Dave Weckl does and has been doing forever! Thanks C.J. You're awesome!
Indeed! (And makes it sound so good!)
Cheers, bud!
I've been away from social media for a while, and I'm so stoked so see your videos again!
Thanks a lot!! :D
Excellent ending example 👍
Excellent lesson and well explained, thank you, CJ!
I appreciate that, thanks bud!!

Wow, thanks!😃
I enjoyed this a lot! I'm gonna start with the 3's and probably be stuck with them for a while haha
Glad you like it!
Yeah, take it slow and just remember to have patience. It'll come to you :D

You play it like it's nothing! xD
Guess 20+ years of drumming makes a difference haha. Great lesson, buddy!
Haha it does indeed! It’s all about discipline and practice 🔥
Learning so much from you. Thanks a bunch!
Happy to hear that!!
Yeah really cool & interesting 👍 nice one 👍
Cheers!!
Awesome
Cheers!!
Nice a new drums, dude
Thanks, bud!!
I like this stuff. I can´t say I am good at it, but as you say - play it because it is fun! I have found that "Take five" is fairly easy to get a hold on, and then some of the Colaiuta-stuff with Sting (on the Ten summorne´s tales) is really fun to play along with. It took me a while, but then I managed to confuse everyone in the band! :D (btw, most guitarists suck at rythm).
For a real gem though, listen to Bluesbrothers live version of "Going back to Miami". First, the drumming is so extremely tight and adapted to the song. Second, the drumsolo. It is not really complicated to play, but to play it with that feeling with the trioles... it blows my top. Insane. I have learned some of it, and have fun with the rythm in my head - but I am a long way from Tippirary. Just. Great.
Glad you like it, bud! Thanks for watching!
THanks for this!! :D
My pleasure!!
great exercise!
Thanks! Hope it helps! :D
ahhh! very happy to see your kit complete! with the 8''😊
Me too!😊
Thank you
You're most welcome!
I really enjoyed this lesson last night, you made it super easy to understand. I take it you can also mix up the stickings for the 5’s and 7’s. Like with the 7’s you can reverse it like RLLRLRL. Or even RLRLLRL? Thanks again for the lesson
Indeed you can!!
Wow so impressive
Cheers!
Gosh I have been doing groups of fives on accident as my go to fill for a while and didn’t even know it was a thing.
Happy accident! xD
Are you play RL on the last two sixteenth notes for the 7 grouping...sounds awesome
Yeah, there’s an error in the transcript I just realized 🤣
First! Or am I?
Great ideas but you made mistake on the 7-pattern transcription, last note should be a L.
You're right! Haha, I gotta stop editing videos after midnight 😅
On the seven note groupings you got two right stickings and then landing on the one another right Is that a misprint Your playing RLR which is correct
Yup! There’s an error in the transcript, which means I gotta stop edit videos after midnight 🤣
