I like this a lot, particularly how you carry on regardless as your kid wanders in front of the camera and how you're happy to let the odd mistake go without worrying. It somehow makes it more accessible than a flawless presentation - as if I might actually be able to do it too.
Just got a uke for Christmas. Literally in under 6 hours I got this whole song down thanks to you man, great tutorial especially for how old it is and 0 editing just how I like it man💎
Thank you very much for this me and my son have only been playing the ukulele for a few months and we have had great fun learning this. you have brought us closer together thanks again .
@@captainbirdseed1slips I accidentally watched that first as I came across it before😅 My dad's pretty impressed though so thank you. It's something I've been wanting to do for a while but the sound of the piece put me off because it always sounded so much harder than it actually is!
As many have said, Thank you. I have only just started to learn an instrument for the first time, I have chosen the banjolele, and this has given me some great practice. the fast picking part is my final boundary and then I shall be able to play my first full tune with your instruction... Thank you, will be watching much more of your stuff once I have cracked this one :)
@@captainbirdseed1slips Thank you so much for your reply.... I really do appreciate the time you put into your videos. Once I have mastered duelling banjos, the next one I want to learn is actually a piano piece. (If you could do a video on it, that would be cool...) Side Saddle by Russ Conway......
Thank you so much, I just got a ukulele for Christmas because I've been using my mum's and it was great to surprise my family with a duet thanks to your amazing tutorial! You're a saint
Me a saint , never ha ha. It's great your family got to hear you play with your mom . If I can help in any way with your playing just ask . Thanks for watching .
Just picked up my uke for the first time today, skimmed some videos that were far too long winded and difficult, then opened this andf have had the tab open for 2 days now and i've finnaly got it down, Thank you @captainbirdseed for your simple, easy to follow tutorial for this classic, can't wait to get out dueling!
dude that was sooo sick man, thank you so much, the lads will crease up when i drop this one and im looking forward to more tutorials keep up the good work cap'n
i had to write it down as he was playing it. I got most of it So far i have O = open string First part F = Fret (cords) C x3 Fx1 Cx1 Second part (string) C - O x3 C - 2F E - O, 1F, 3F, 1F, O Third part (string) E - 3F x3 A - O, 2F,3F, 5F, 3F, 2F Forth part (string) E - O, 1F, 3F, O, 1F C - 2F E - O C - O, 2F Fifth Part (string) C - O x2, 2F E - O C - O E- O C - 2F that's where i lost it just at the fast part, i got the cords but not the strumming pattern.
captainbirdseed1 let me tell you what an awesome teacher you are and so patient, i have learnt something i thought was never possible . i love how genuine you are and your little boy walking back and forth what a laugh , please dont stop i will be looking forward to more of your teaching
Brilliant well done, always thought Duelling Ukuleles would be could to see/hear/play, may be one day I will be able to until then will keep trying. Thank you
i'm new to the uke and this is the first song I learnt (well part of it anyway, still cant get the fast bit lol) I think you're a great teacher who breaks it down very easy, nice work keep it up
I already had the simple bit figured out by the time I saw this but towards the end of the tutorial life looked up😯😎👍❗️This was the first 'roll' I ever learned & got to play well. It does take practice to get the pattern in your mind & translated to your fingers.....stick with it. once you've got it mastered you won't un-learn it.... it's yours for life😎👏👏👏. Great explanation and tutorial Capt. Birdseed. ( ironically, the second 'roll' I learned was far simpler (Radio head - no surprises), but this one rocks when you can put some pace on it😜👍).
thanks mate this tutorial is awesome, you made it really easy to learn. im new to the uke so im a bit slow to grasp it but nailed it in the end thanks to this vid. thanks again :) next up hotel california!
thank you again i forgot most of this tune from the first time you taught me didnt take long to remember with help from your great video... uke on bro uke on!
Thank you for taking time to share your talent with others. I’m kind of slow learning but love it! I can already play the first part pretty good and I just found you like 20 minutes ago. 😁. The second part is a little more challenging but I’m sure I’ll get it! Thank you very much!
Theres a little riff at the very end after the strumming you do on the other vid. Could you do a little vid on that please. Iv watched both and slowly getting there. Not bad for my first ukulele song. Yes only had one for a week lol.
thanks for watching , if you look threw my vids i have uploaded there is one called dueling banjos fast bit explained . that should help you finish it of .
fantastic tutorial...i'v been practicing to you video the past two days and iv been getting better and better :) and your other video on the fast bits is good also, you really explain it well....keep up the good work....and so will i...
Excellent tutorial......especially for a novice like me.....the fast bit is really tricky for co-ordination, but a bit of muscle memory and Practise and I'll be forever grateful , quite apart from learning a lot.....Thanks....:)
"it's easy. It's easy" Meanwhile, here I am, having never played an instrument in my life, about to wear out my screen hitting the rewind button over and over. Thanks for the tutorial, it's fun trying to learn this song.
Before the start I would have though I'd never get this one, but it was a great tutorial, easy to follow and well laid out, nice one. Just getting to grips with it now.
@MrMadpierre its my preference and in my opinion there is no right or wrong style to play the uke , the reason i do it with one finger is my finger is going up the strings anyway so i think this peice of music is about speed and i think for me its quicker .
awesome I been trying to find a good youtube clip to learn deliverance from and you filled in the bits for me mainly the fast bit near the end using F C G C GREAT
