So my understanding is that they bought the cars from Madrid and installed an overhead wire for those cars….instead of converting them to third rail…or at least converting the existing trains to overhead wire…but having two systems for two trains?? I love an interesting system but it seems like a bit of unnecessary engineering… can anyone answer why they did this? (No shade btw I love subte. I just wanna learn…)
I think there is no explanation for this, it is simply ignorance on the part of those who purchased these trains. Before the CAF 6000 came to the Buenos Aires Subway, they had bought the CAF 5000, and I understand that they did remove the pantograph and added the shoe for the third rail. Unfortunately, asbestos was found in those units, which is a carcinogenic material, so they were discarded... In a hurry, the CAF 6000 were purchased, and here we are... Greetings.
Super great Video! I like it! Thumbs Up!
¡Magníficos tiros subterráneos entrando y saliendo!. Bonitos trenes....
Saludos amigo
