Edit for Clarity with AI Actions in Descript

- In this video, I look at one of the AI-powered editing features in Descript, known as 'Edit for Clarity.'
When you try to quickly clean up an episode or a clip for social media, it will help to employ this action to remove filler words, repetitions, hesitations and redundancies in speech. The 'Edit for Clarity' action, powered by ChatGPT, attempts to do just that. It is not perfect, but it gives you a great starting point for further refining the content yourself.
Some of the AI actions in Descript ("Edit for Clarity" included), will not only suggest changes to you or provide you with a new, rewritten version of the script, like ChatGPT does. They will go ahead and modify the script for you. So this is what I call "AI-Assisted Editing", not just "AI-take-it-or-leave-it" editing. You get to use the suggestions and have the content modified for you but you also retain 100% control over the edits and can revert them if you wish to, or make more.
The output from these actions usually 'ignore' content on your composition, showing you the exact words they've removed and giving you the ability to restore those cuts if you disagree.
I also share additional editing tips, including shortening word gaps and adjusting video speed, to meet specific length requirements.

Thanks for this. You're right, pain number 1 - having to record 10 versions of your tutorials/courses because Descript changes their mind every 5 minutes... PAIN PAIN PAIN.
you have youtube transcripts for that, however don't you think the mainstream Companies that we all use on a daily basic will have inbuilt features, maybe the different apps and websites will be of no use, in 1-2 years.

@@Graphicious Ahh, its a kind of a question like today we use a couple of AI apps for procession the end result. Like if we have to make a video with AI we need Runway ML, Then a Editing App, then Leonardo AI for images, then we need chat gpt for a story creation and then we need certain sound and music AI tools for voice overs and Music. It consumes a lot of time, don't you think in the future mainstream apps like Instagram, UA-cam, Sora AI and X they would have an inbuilt feature to do all this. then the rest of the apps will be of no use.
I don't think we'll have that any time soon. One single app cannot do everything perfectly. As long as there is competition out there, companies will try to outdo each other. Plus, you cannot specialize in everything. I think we'll still need all the individual apps for a long, long time.
