This is a common misconception since that is only true for Misery Toadstool and not normal Toadstool who only reaches 80% damage reduction. Okay so I actually tried a boss run for the first time with Wolfgang and uh I ended up having an unexpected reaction to it. Nowadays I main between Wanda, Wormwood, Willow and Warly and they all require some degree of setup to become powerful. Obviously with Wolfgang, it requires less set up. The first boss I killed was Ancient Guardian in a ruins rush and I was legit surprised how quickly it took to kill it. Same with Nightmare Werepig. He still requires some setup like getting dreadstone helm + shield of terror, farming marble for QoL stuff but otherwise its fun to just wreck bosses and mini bosses (and mobs for that matter). And it doesn't take forever to do it either which is great. My only criticism is the end-game gear doesn't really feel worth it. Void gear you get like what 155 MAX damage per hit with crappy defence versus 136 damage with dark swords with superior head and body options. At this point it's probably better to just farm volt goats and start playing with volt goat jelly. * EDIT * Oh sweet summer child... SO I tried AFW with the following gear: bright shade staff, bright shade sword, brightshade helm, 1 marble suit. I kid you not I forgot all my other stuff (teleporter staff, my cooked green caps, my pieroggis) and I killed AFW in less than a minute.... I had 40% of my marble suit in tact, 80% of my health, my sword was over 60%. If you wanna feel the full power of wolfgang then def fight shadow aligned bosses with lunar alignment.
If you play with extended seasons to make autumn last "Long" or "Very Long" then Bearger will spawn before the end of your first autumn. It also does delay Deerclops by a little though as you won't get her spawn on day 30 like normal but instead pretty close to the beginning or middle of winter instead of the end with extended season lengths.
Why do I feel as though I should be paying a certain Only Spicy website subscription for half the noises Jakey makes in this video. Not complaining though...

you could also change world setting so the autumn lasts longer. that way you might be able to get celestial champion before deerclops
