BJP's economic policy focusing on macro-stability and productivity improvements is much better for India compared to Chidambaram-esque high-inflation, demand side intervention, whichever book it might come from. 2 big criticisms from me would be low investment in education and disinterest in privatisation. 1. Low investment in education.: It is not, if you compare with other countries combined amount spent on education is quite high. if you are complaining about quality education, then I can agree, yes, it is very low level of education in govt. sector, any additional investment is like poring the money into drain. there are really big structural issues in education system. no govt will dare to touch it. total teaching community strength is very high and can create major headaches if govt. decides to tweak the system.
2. Slow disinvestment: It is not that easy, yes I would like to see total disinvestment in all sectors, including Railways and education too. but we need to understand in electoral politics it is quite hard, after seeing the budget, If BJP comes back with good numbers, we may see quite a push in this side.

I am in mid 40's. My Dad is around 75 and Mother is almost 70. None of us were aware that there is an Original version of "Raghupati Raghaw Raja Ram". I stubmbled upon it few months back when I heard the beautifully sung version by Armonian. I was pleasently surprised! And also got a little angry. Since we cannot blame Father of the nation, I channeled by Anger on Kajol instead.

People say India's demographic dividend is only valid for the next couple of decades after which India's population will stagnate and start declining. One way to extend this is to shift people from agriculture to manufacturing and services. Currently way too many people depend on agriculture with very low productivity. Once we get education and skill development in order, these people will be ready to serve the manufacturing and services economy.

India’s population is not going to plateau till late 2040s (IMF) and by then, per capita gdp will be around $15k (not adjusting after inflation). So I don’t know how you got that will will start decreasing in numbers at just $3.5K. Plus, India will cross that number in 2030 (IMF)
