An amazing song. I was so fortunate to have lived through this era and be able to call it "My Music"
I have a scar above my right eyebrow from a piece of slag that flew at me, during their performance in Hollywood, CA, during their tour for this album. I was up-close w/my Nikon - and, through the lens, saw the molten spark coming in my direction (but didn't think much of it, until it landed - and STUCK). Dumb youth. But I have a great mini-divot to remind me of how impressive a show they delivered.
still listening to this at nearly 52, was a golden time living in nz when this came out, and what followed from them after it was childhood personified...magical times
Love this song for so many years, it never gets old. x
If it hadn't been for this song and this video, I'd have never gotten to know this great band. They got even better later on. But this original sound is what captivated me back in the 80s. Awesome and very skillful band indeed!
I had a 12" promo of this song back in the 80's and still dig it...!
This song deserves more likes!
Thank you mushroomvideos for posting this and other great Australian songs.
great to be able to hear H+C songs on UA-cam.always loved this song since i first heard it in the early '80s probably on CFNY or MuchMusic (from Canada). great bass/drum line, thought-provoking lyrics.
got to hear a bit more of the band's music over the subsequent years and finally gotta chance to see H+C (in Adelaide) around Christmas '87. they were promoting the "what's a few men" album. great show! can't remember the name of the bar but it was a really good venue.
i picked up the "few men" cassette and listened to it a lot while backpacking Australia for the next 8 months. i think it's great album and i was surprised to read that the song "still hangin' round" was cut from the US version of the album for sounding "too Australian.
still got the cassette but my last walkman and cassette player both died decades ago so haven't been able to listen to it for a long time.
mark seymour has written some terrific songs over the years.
This is one of the most amazing baselines. Just an all around great song. 🇦🇺
I love the funky bass line in this song.
This bass player was legend
LEGEND
As a kid this was the song that got me into hunters and collectors. That bass.
I was kid too and this song is a masterpiece. Timeless.
Best live band I've ever been to. Hamilton NZ circa 1987
top 5 aussie song ever! Can't believe the last view here was a year ago and then 2, 4 and 5 years ago. People have no taste!
Great Song - Anthem for the 80's
This is a great song, The Avalanches cover is bloody awesome
Epic baseline.
Brilliant and creepy all at the same time. Sort of stuff you have to stay up and watch on Rock Arena because it was too out there for Count Down.
Good memories of working under the table as a union laborer in North Sydney 25 years ago.
Yes. The video for 'Say Goodbye' really stood out from the Duran Duran/ bubblegum stuff that made up the bulk of MuchMusic's rotation back when. I remember thinking, 'Who Is this guy? Damn, what a tight band.'
I wore this cassette down to silence! I remember it had Chinese chicken sauce on the liner notes! Still played
"Souvent pour s'amuser les hommes d'equipage". 'Sometimes, for fun, you put the men on.' Classic.
H&H my music fuck yeah.
wow
seriously, only 30,000 views.... wtf is gong on in this world?

H&C I ment Keep on rocking.
Love you Aussie chuntz....,.xxxxxxx
that's Funny. I bet it was Great.
This song, and film clip influenced more than the influenced are admitting.
You can guarantee that Nine Inch Nails were seriously inspired by this clip (amongst many others)
@762willstopit I'm an Aussie.... yep, I really love their dark, brooding early stuff. Their later stuff like "Holy Grail" was a bit limp.
@WilliamAndrews1969 Agree, me too...lucky to have stumbled upon this band, found a tape cassette with a picture of a gargoyle head (I think), a very rare release, especially here in the states? Are you a yank or an Aussie? I love Hunnas EARLY stuff...so intense, reminds me of Max Rocketansky.
Yeah, you're probably right....the way it's superimposed over a graveyard (if memory serves) makes it look very sinister. That tape is an excellent, excellent Hunnas collection, the best in my opinion. I've had to buy 3 different CDs, I think, to get all the songs on that tape....worth it. Wish they would have stayed "primal", but they were too intense for the world at large.
Souvent pour s'amuser les hommes d'equipage
And it's like talking to a stranger
Remember the panic in its delectable face, when I touched it
It was like talking to a stranger
Venetian candles penetrated its heart
It trembles like talking to a stranger
And Oh Miss Jesus tell me where are your black eyes?
Your baby was talking to a stranger, no no.
Souvent pour s'amuser les hommes d'equipage
And it's like talking to a stranger
You tasted mustard when she painted your face
And it was like talking to a stranger
And Oh Miss Jesus tell me where are your black eyes?
Your baby was talking to a stranger
Souvent pour s'amuser les hommes d'equipage
And it's like talking to a stranger.
