Your video made me cry... We rescued our girls over 5 years ago and I howled at the injustice and cruelty they had experienced. The first time it rained they looked up to the sky and spread out their wing stumps to catch the raindrops... Bless you both - what a lovely new home you are giving them x x

Mandy Jane aww thank you ❤️ I didn’t really anticipate how emotionally draining I was going to find today and witnessing all those hens in the crates. Very bittersweet and sad to some in a bad way. The British Hen Welfare Trust are simply incredible! 🐓
They’re so gorgeous! So lovely to see them pecking and scratching around, exploring their new home and being able to exhibit natural behaviours. Lucky ladies! 💗
My favorite part is seeing the girls get put into their new home. Must be overwhelmingly exciting for them to finally have room to breathe and proper habitat
Oh my gosh that was unexpectedly emotional 😭 I’m so happy for them, it’s an amazing thing to be able to give an animal a second chance at a happy life and after watching your series on here, I’ve decided it’s definitely something I would love to do in the future! Hi! I know exactly how you are feeling! I rescued 5 hens 2 years ago but unfortunately over the months they passed away due to illnesses. My last lady had to be put to sleep on Friday. Really upsetting! At times when we visited the vet he would always advise against having them saying they were basically extremely stressed by the time they leave the factory. I just wanted them to have a peaceful time and relax into a long retirement. Sadly I didn’t have many years with them. I’m not sure I could have more because I found it far too upsetting to see them poorly!
Hi Sarah and Andy. Sitting here in tears what a sad thing to see how humans inflict such suffering to animals all for monetary gain. People who eat meat and dairy should see what distress it causes to animals. God bless you both, what a wonderful life your hens will have. LOL the dogs and cats were very intrigued and well behaved they seen to know the hens have suffered. Will look forward to watch them bloom. Sarah don’t breath in the DE powder. I give my dogs the human grade in their food as a wormer. 😀😘

Andreea Cretan basically the plan is to hose it down & rake over once a week. The bugs from the ground are meant to help with decomposing the poop. Then I think change it all out once every 6 months. But we’ll see! X
I have chickens. It's so sad seeing their faces so bald and white, their crops all light pink and mostly falling over. Some chickens can have floppy combs, but that's just sad.
I hope you will let them out of the cage.. They were caged long enough. Chickens should roam during the day, and they return to sleep inside on their own. That's when you close them up so they are safe during the night. But not all day. Cats are not dangerous to grown chickens.
Farmers who treat animals badly, like this, should be in prison! Stop buying caged hen eggs and eating meat. But organic dairy if you can't but vegan alternatives!

Chickens really deserve better treatment... They have feelings and are very intelligent...I hate seeing them in battery cages, etc.

I feed my chickens frozen burritos and pizza and whatnot. They are alot bigger than these ones.
