@@SuzannesSimpleLiving that ok did you get my email as I need some advice from you about something
Thank you from Florida for taking these chickens these home. I know it has been a couple of years; however you still need to be thanked. My husband and I have chicken enthusiasts for years. Have very spoiled chickens in the back yard. :).
Ahhh bless your heart. It’s a pleasure to have them, they bring such joy to me and rescuing them & giving them a real chicken life makes me happy 😊 thank you for your comment it’s much appreciated.
Thank you Suzanne and sorry about the bad grammar; just tired with a little vodka. :). I am also a Suzanne and me mum was born in Eastbourne. War bride. Please take care and keep doing what you doing. @@SuzannesSimpleLiving

YOU ARE SO KIND TO ADOPT THOSE SWEET BABIES! 😢 WISH MORE PPL WERE FOLLOWING YOUR LEAD!❤
@@christynm.8933 Thank you I enjoy it chickens are very endearing, lots of people adopt chickens in the UK from the British hen welfare trust and I think there are other rescue teams as well. Thank you for your comment 😊
Thank you for making Chicki happy!
😁my pleasure!
Adopting ex battery chickens after not having any for 9 years. We drove down to Dorset to pick them up and the countryside was just beautiful on our journey. If you would like to adopt some ex batts please find the information in the description.Thank you for watching!
Update 26.7.24 I've had a lot of comments about the closure being to small for 6 chickens, I do know & understand. If you watch my other videos you will see that our beloved chickens are let out every day into the garden to roam free. The only reason I took 6 was because someone didn't turn up & there were homeless chickens, so some of us took extra's to make sure they all had a home. This video was 3 years ago & we no longer have those chickens (we now have 3 at the moment) as they don't always last long due to the stress there put under in the farms. Please be assured that our chickens are treated with the upmost love & care & lots of treats, that's why we rehome them to give them a happy ending to there sometimes short lives.
Thankyou to everyone leaving comments & for everyone's interest in these endearing little ladies, your time is very much appreciated 😊💖

I have just spent the last 3 day building a coop and run
Going to drive to Gateshead to pick up 12 battery girls tomorrow, hopefully for a long happy life on our small holding in North Northumberland. I have never had chickens but looking forward to giving the poor girls a fresh start
@@paulsmith3500 Hi Paul,
That’s so lovely 😊 well done and lots of luck with your special girls, it’s so rewarding and they will become part of the family and each have there own individual characters.
Kind regards,
Suzanne
Except for too many cars, I love the look of your village. England and Wales are very dear to this South African’s heart - you are family. ❤
@@UserHilux579 Thankyou very much, I also love the British Isles, I’m very happy to live in England 😊❤️🇬🇧
I wish I could do what you are doing here. It breaks my heart to see these wonderful beings suffer so much because of greed. BTW, I don't eat chicken or beef. God bless you for what you do!!! ❤
@@robinsydney140 ahhh bless you 🥰 what a beautiful comment thank you very much and it’s my pleasure to look after them I will do what I can.
@@SuzannesSimpleLiving I can tell you love them, and you've already done a work of love!
@@robinsydney140 Thank you
6 instead of 4 🤣I'd already guessed, as you had an extra box! (me too!) That Omlet coop & run must've cost a fortune - lucky chooks! They look well - I've seen much worse 😥 funny how they just stand and look in amazement. 10:00 Observing, it's nice here, we'll stay awhile... you're very patient - that's just what they need. I just shout chook chook chook, food works! Funny how their appetite wanes as they prefer to scratch around, they don't HAVE to lay an egg a day. Lovely birdsong & cat btw, there's always one who camps out... lovely video - I have some rescues and know they have problems...
@@WildwoodTV What an absolutely lovely comment 😁thank you so much it’s so nice to hear from somebody who understands. These chickens have now sadly gone as they don’t always last that long and this video was quite a while ago now. We have three in at the moment that we got last November and they all seem to be doing really well I love them so much they’re such sweet dear little ladies 🥰 I hope your chickens are doing well thank you so much for your comment once again….
Thanks for saving them
@@ruthbatt9029 It’s my pleasure, they give so much happiness 😊….Thank you for your comment
Beautiful video and thankgod for people like you ...tempted to get a couple of rescue chickens myself i will watch your videos first though and learn more. Your chickens look so happy .
Ahhh thank you so much for your kind words…people are always needed to adopt the chickens and it’s so rewarding seeing them enjoying the normal things that they’re supposed to do like scratching and pecking for bugs. Their little characters are so endearing.
All the best
Suzanne
The Union Jack🇬🇧 on the chicken-coop.... 😆 How they love to finally live like a chicken, scratching and sandbathing...🥺...Thank you✨, lovely Lady❗ The chickens🐓🐓
Thank you so much for your lovely comment 😊
Ein sehr schönes Gehege. Und wirklich toll, dass du den Hühnern ein neues Leben geschenkt hast. Aber ich finde das Gehege zu klein für 6 Hühner!!
Hi, as I keep saying to people if you watch the other videos you will find out that our chickens are let out every single day into the garden to roam free. This video was 3 years ago & the intention was to have 4 chickens but when we arrived someone had not turned up & there was extra chickens that were homeless! so some of us took extra's to make sure they were all homed. Those 6 are no longer with us as they don't always last long. At the moment we have 3, they are treated with the upmost love & care, that's the whole point of rehoming them !!!!
Bless your heart!
😊 thank you
They must be very happy 💜
@@HopeAndPeace2024 Oh yes definitely much happier roaming around the garden eating bugs and doing what comes naturally 😊 thank you for your comment
We collect our 4 tomorrow, very excited
Yay 😁 that’s fantastic! Sorry only just got your comment so you will probably have them by now I do hope that it’s all going really well 🤗
@@SuzannesSimpleLiving hi we collected 5,sadly one (Elsie) was a bully and the 4 girls was petrified of her, they lived with their heads down,to scared to eat or drink.
So after a week and her being in prison,we rehomed her to a friend with a large flock and a cockerel….she attacked the cockerel…and he put her in her place!
She’s now happy.
Our girls are happy and we are getting 4 eggs a day.
They are amazing and learning perfectly to ‘hen’…living their best life!!
@@petebartlett2229 That’s fantastic…yes sadly some of them learn to bully but I’m happy to hear your 4 girls are now settled, it doesn’t take them long 😊
Good job 🐥🐣
@@HumanOverPopulation-bl5oj Thank you 😊
We've had 16 in total from FSFH's. They are the most wonderful and friendly birds.
That's brilliant well done! 😊yes they are such lovely ladies to have and look after.
Also the houses on that street at 1:35 are awesome. Such old style with the thatched roof's :)
@@mikelee7535 These cottages are absolutely gorgeous, I would love to live in one but they’re very expensive especially when the thatch has to be changed. Thank you for your comment 😊
Just subscribed Suzanne, good luck, I’d love to keep chickens, I’ll enjoy learning from you
Thankyou so much Jill ...I found you on Vivi’s and have always been fugal 😊
Added to Amy playlist.
How are they now? I want to adopt ex battery hens in the future, but I’m slightly put off by the idea of them being too sick to save. I absolutely love chickens, especially mine, and I recently lost one of my older girls that I loved deeply :(
A couple of them have died and yes they may not live as long but for me these girls deserve to see the outside even if it’s a short while. They gave there life at the farm to just lay eggs for 18 months and to see them enjoying the sun, sky, grass, scratching around and being themselves is so rewarding. Some of them do come out a bit tatty but with the right diet they soon grow there feathers back. I love them to and they become part of the family.
Very sweet…..thank you…❤
Where's the ROOSTER
I don’t need one, I keep the chickens for there eggs & the pleasure of rescuing them. You only need a rooster for breeding 😊
Ok 👌
I wish there was a follow up video
Hi there, sadly these chickens have gone now as ex batts don't always last that long. We do have some more which you can see in my upcoming videos.
use a ramp instead of a ladder. they like it more.
Lovely country!
Thank you 😁
Beautiful! Thank you for rescuing these dear wee souls. Is this a starter pen or a permanent pen?
Chickens are so endearing ,I love having them. This is a permanent house and run but we let them out everyday so they can run around the garden and do there natural thing of finding bugs and scratching around.
Здорово, так всё аккуратно и такие превосходные курочки у вас !!!!👍👍👍🐓🐔🙂
Thank you so much 😁
Good work.
thank you so much
Just found your channel by accident had to subscribe ❤❤
@@michaeltaylor2449 Bless you that’s really sweet thank you very much 😁
@@SuzannesSimpleLiving Your welcome
What have you put in the bottom of the run? The hen trust suggested that I use straw but yours looks like bark. Are you using a no dig composting thing? Have hens arriving soon
Hi Laura, sorry only just spotted your comment! Yes I use bark that's safe for kids so its ok for chickens as well, it eventually just breaks down & we use it in our raised beds so yes just like a compost. I've literally just taken out the old compost after a year but topped it up during last summer with another bag after it had broken down a bit. I wouldn't use straw unless your run is covered, if it rains it will turn into a soggy mess! Good luck with your girls, they are so endearing! 😊🐣🐤🐥🐓🐔
Your channel is liken to meditation wonderful
Oh that's wonderful 😊 thank you
Had an eglu ,but really not impressed with them ,the so sold mine and got Nestera large penthouse which is truly awesome..
@@Niki-xr6cw Oh that’s a shame, I’ve never had any issues with the Eglu’s, I’ve not heard off Nestera the one you have. Thank you for your comment 😊
Whenever my parents pick up new chickens she always gets the badly bullied, plucked ones that are at the bottom of the pecking order.
Watching them recover, flourish and be content is calming for the soul.
That’s wonderful, I adopted a bullied chicken last October & she was so frightened, so I hand fed her apples & gave her a separate water dish now a year later she’s so happy she jumps up on the gate every time I open it & stands her ground with the others. As you said it’s amazing to watch as they change & recover 🤗
🎉🎉
May Lord Jesus bless u beautiful soul
Thank you 😊
Love your work b coz they are the most exploited species 😔😔
Thank you so much, they are absolutely exploited & I will always do what I can to help ☺Thankyou for your comment
No more fucking cages❤
Absolutely…there free and in a good home 💕
they need some foliage in there
we do let them out as well so they are able to run around the garden 🙂
@@SuzannesSimpleLiving Our hens on the alotment are given mostly veggies and they LOVE soaked mealworms. They love all the scrap food and mashed potato but when they see soaked mealworms they will chase you everywhere for them :D
@@dchubad don't worry we give them scraps of food every single day...😄
Leitern aus Metall oder Plastik sind leider rutschiger als Leitern aus Holz.
Vielen Dank für alles! ❤
HI, my ladies have always coped with the plastic ladders & they are easy to wash, I have never had any issues with them, wooden ones I find can give splinters because the wood rots eventually! Depends what you prefer & how your chickens cope ☺
1reply 👌👌👍
@@ShahzadHussain295 Thank you 😊
Super kleines Gehege für so viele Hühner, hoffentlich dürfen die Mal im ganzen Garten laufen. Das Häuschen ist auch zu klein...😢
@@carobien3343 Please read the message pinned by me. Our chickens are let out every single day. Read before you make a comment !!
It looks awfully small for them to walk around don't you plan to enlarge the cage so they have some room to really walk
@@joycekuras5208 No it’s not too small for them because I let them out every single day where they roam free in the garden if you read my pin which is what I keep telling people instead of just assuming it would help😊
I think you mean well BUT for 6 chickens the space is TOO SMALL I really hope you let them out
And if you bothered to read some of the other comments on my chicken videos you will see that I let my chickens out every day maybe you should ask instead of assuming…. I have kept chickens for many years and believe you me they are treated with the upmost of respect and love that they could ever have they are rescue chickens and I absolutely adore them. The chickens in that video are no longer with us rescue chickens don’t live that long after they come out of the farm and have been mistreated which is why I rescue them so that they can have a decent life before they die. Ask in future don’t just assume…. i’m nearly 57 years old I have many years experience!!
