I was heartbroken to hear of the recent passing of Sinéad O'Connor earlier this month. I've been a fan of Sinéad's work since I first saw her perform Mandinka in 1987. I was blown away by her debut album THE LION AND THE COBRA and I admired the way she spoke out for people who didn't have a voice and were unable to speak up about injustice. I hope you enjoy listening to this interview, recorded for Gaydio in 2014 when I was a presenter for the radio station.

Lady Gaga seems to be a lovely, interesting person, she has an incredible visual side to her art and the most boring, generic pop songs. I knew her visuals and when I heard her music I couldn't believe how uninspiring and factory-produced her music is. She is nothing like Sinead, who rejected the visuals side and produced incredible music over the years.

I was SO glad to hear that, like me, she felt that Amy Winehouse was one of kind. And that's who comes to mind when i heard of SINEAD'S falling asleep.
As a singer-songwriter myself, i believe in DELIVERY BEING EVERYTHING. You CANNOT deliver what you know NOTHING about, and therefore, do not FEEL.
I've lost a SISTER and fellow artist. But i was the one that picked up my guitar, and walked away from fame, and in so doing, frustrated some huge names . I saw first-hand what fame does. The price was too high.
SINEAD O'CONNOR SPOKE TRUTH TO THE MOST POWERFUL MAN ON THE PLANET... David vs Goliath. And THAT was the LOUDEST SONG SINEAD DID yell.
    "FIGHT THE REAL ENEMY!"

So sad that Sinead HAD to be a WARRIOR 24/7 for her own Safety, to the extent that she says she couldnt feel safe dressed in a conventionally feminine way in the music industry, and the men who preyed upon her in her private/medical life. No wonder she felt safer with gay men.

Sinead is a diamond, a nugget, she's definitely not from our dirty planet! She is clean, honest, and has never buckled under anyone! Ireland, you didn't save her! You didn't give her a helping hand, but only oppressed her as a person! She has glorified your country! although you are a very small country. Sinead, she put her soul into every song, and when she performed, she lived it. Each of her songs is a MASTERPIECE!!! SHE has no equal! 💔💔💔🙏🙏🙏
