  • I add a remote extension or remote control for a small air compressor hidden under my workbench. This is useful as shop air or workbench air fittings/connections for small tasks such as blowing out carbureators, blowing stuff off, etc.. Basically this is a great solution for those times you need a little bit of compressed air but don't want to fire up the big compressor and drag a hose around.

Neat! I came to see how you put the port on the bench because I couldn't find a product specifically for that which is weird. But basically I had the idea of putting my little compressor under my workstation so thank you for sharing this and giving me an idea of how to mount the fitting! I really like the idea of those solder seals too so thanks for sharing that I am going to get some to try out!

I use it way more than I thought I would.. It's very handy! I just need to replace it with a better compressor because that one is so underpowered it takes a long time to recharge.

@@BubbasWorkshop I just picked up a little 2 gallon Fortress Ultra Quiet from Harbor Freight. It is astonishingly quiet compared to those pancake compressors. 2 gallons isn't much but the thing fills completely in 45 seconds. They also have 6, 10, and 26 gallon version. But maybe you could get the 2 gallon and take the compressor off the pancake tank and then use it as an auxiliary tank under the workbench for a total of 5 gallons of air. Lots of possibilities! But when I say it is quiet, I can run it inside my living room and still talk normally to someone else without getting hearing damage.
