- Hello everyone, I wanted to share the birth story of my 4th child, which was unlike anything I had ever experienced before. My hope in sharing this video is to provide some insight into what can happen when diagnosed with placenta previa and to create a place where we can share our stories with other expecting mothers. Thank you so much for sharing your story. This is so insightful. I am 26 weeks, been bleeding on and off since before my anatomy scan. Was diagnosed with this conditio. Yesterday woke with bleeding and a clot, once the clot passed it eased up and stopped. So just waiting this out.... loved watching this.
Thanks for sharing your story. I was diagnosed with complete placenta previa at 16 weeks pregnant ultrasound. I was spotting continuously and got hospitalized. Thankfully the bleeding stopped and I am at bed rest until delivery. I am scared because I have previous 2 C-section before. Please pray for me. Now I am at 20+ weeks.
Thank you for sharing your story! I am so sorry you didn’t get the beautiful home birth you envisioned. I also was planning a homebirth with this pregnancy. I am currently 32+5 weeks and have had 5 bleeding episodes so far. They have all been fairly light bleeds with no clots and not put me in the hospital so I feel super grateful for that. The gratitude doesn’t take away the fear that I could have a big bleed at any moment. I am currently scheduled for a c section at 37+ 6 and pray I make it to that date. I am super grateful for mamas like you sharing your story & building a complete placenta previa community ❤

It's so tough to go from that mindset of being in control at home to a c-section. That is great that you haven't had to be hospitalized! But you are so right- that fear of a big bleed is always hanging over you and that is so hard to mentally handle. If you're comfortable, would you keep us posted? Thanks for watching! I'm sorry to hear you're on bed rest. It really is the best thing to prevent any serious bleeding episodes. The unknown is what really got me, not knowing when/if another bleed will come, and if it does how much. If you'd like, keep us posted here so that others can read up on your story! I couldn’t see my daughter for 7 days and couldn’t hold her for 2 weeks and was in the nicu 3 weeks. I was borderline stroking out from pre -eclampsia. It was the worst birth ! I’m pregnant with 4th baby and just feels different then my last 2 boys they were a dream pregnancy and c section. However my 3 tummy birth my blood pressure kept dropping and I felt like I was going to pass out so the anesthesiologist did something to bring my pressure back it happened 4-5 times during the 20 minute c section. I’m educating myself and just being prepared. I do not want to go through the nicu and emergency c section again!!!
Since 10 weeks to 23 weeks, I used to have very small amount of bloody mucus which happened total 7 times. At 20 week anomaly scan, my placenta was posterior low lying reaching up to internal os. Doctor prescribed proluton depot 250 mg every week for 5 weeks and stopped at 24 weeks. I am 31 week pregnant now with no more bleed or spotting. However 28 week usg showed complete placenta previa. I am on pelvic rest but never took bed rest. This is my 1st pregnancy. Colour doppler+USG for FPP is scheduled in 32nd week.
Thank you for sharing. I'm so glad your bleeding has stopped, but I also know it must still be frightening to think it could start back up. There is still hope that your placenta will move. @@thealfordhomestead5191 Sure! At 32nd week scan, everything turned out normal, placenta moved 2.6 cm away from cervix. But then at 37th week scan, colour doppler report deteriorated drastically, CPR was low due to gdm, though controlled by lifestyle and medication. My cute baby boy was born on the day via emergency C-section.
I didn't realize how high risk placenta previa is.. none of my Dr's ever said anything like this or to be aware of bleeding or anything.. 28 weeks and no bleeding so far and they keep saying they think the placenta will move as the uterus grows
Oh wow, what a shame that your doctor isn't doing a good job of informing you of the risks! Do your own research and bring up as many questions or concerns as possible to your doctors. They should absolutely be discussing all the possibilities with you and coming up with a plan of action for bleeding episodes and the birth.
Just a note, the further along you are the less likely it is the placenta will move. It's possible, but unlikely. You're still in your second trimester though, so there is hope! I started bleeding at 28weeks 2 days. N bled again at 29weeks. I am currently on bed rest with little bathroom n house movemrnt previldges. I am praying i dont bleed again to mk it up to 37 weeks
I am so sorry to hear of your bleeding. Please take the bed rest seriously! It's the only thing we can really do to prevent more bleeding.
