- Neighbors living in Little Havana said they were blindsided by a notice on their door giving them just two weeks to move out.
Public money to buy private property .. ya that smells like day old fish. That guy needs to be in front of a judge to explain why !!!!
A commissioner that doesn’t answer to public. Wow! He looks corrupt.
he is
its Florida only two types of people criminals with records and criminals that havent been caught yet
He does look corrupt. Looks like they stopped Mr penguin. But in all fairness, ABC walked up. If abc, NBC, CNN walks up asking questions you can almost be certain it's some dumb fake news propaganda.
Corrupt af.
You guys should see the commissioners meetings they're out of control best reality TV show
The fact that we have people living in that property that looks abandoned and dilapidated is shameful. The rent is out of control.
It's more common than you would think in SoFlo.
Well that’s almost ALL of these homes here in Florida that aren’t mansions.
Especially when the City loves to attack average homeowners for everything under "safety violations"...and, this video demonstrates Carollo's typical behavior and response whenever he is questioned about ANYTHING. He HAS to go.
Politicians like this are the reason we have so many problems.
Could it be ? Corruption 101 in Miami 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
City uses its governmental powers to buy then gives to developer for free so the developer can build housing and they can share in the profits to include probably property tax break to developer for the next 20 years.
Smells like corruption.
Carollo plays dirty and all of Miami knows this. 🤷🏻♀️
Lol I'm so sick of these corrupt politicians.
The fact they only gave the residents two weeks to vacate the property without any prior notice is unbelievable! If they're living in that building under those terrible conditions, they clearly can't afford to go elsewhere on such short notice. Shame on the city of Miami for allowing such a tragedy to take place!
It was done in secret and only 2 weeks notice was designed to get the entire deal done and renters moved before the People Of Miami could get wind of it and start asking questions and the city used domain property rights to do so.
Most of them want to live in Miami area even when they are not working they can move to homestead area or other neighborhoods with affordable rent.
@@flaquita0770 why don't you move down there and drive 3 hrs a day in heavy traffic to your workplace?
@@adrianfernandez2932 I think you didn't read well my comment I said MOST of them don't work AND that's why they (people don't work) should move to others neighborhoods. Geez
@@adrianfernandez2932 I'm just outside of Miami area my mortgage is less than Miami rent. Ignorance is not an excuse. If you don't own the property, you have little rights 🤦♂️
That mayor needs to be fired
The previous police chief hired said this is "mafia cubana" and he was fired by Carollo and other politics offended
reported did well pushing the questions for the commissioner to evade.
You can tell he is LYING and this is the kind of treatment that shouldn’t be allowed and go unchecked! Two weeks, really!? Well, he should pay for ALL of these resident first, last & deposits for their new homes. Two weeks this is down right SHAMEFUL, God isn’t pleased!
Miami Beach in the 70s was old run down buildings like this with affordable rents...Then came the "Art Deco" and gay movement and did what it is now...Little Havana will be "Posh" and expensive within 30 years...Been there, done that...Can't afford to park at the beach anymore...Sure miss the good old days...
Omg the same in Philly! The gayborhood (yes, that's what it's called) and the art freaks are the reason why homes are being rebuilt into million dollar homes and they're raising the taxes of everyone around them. I get mail from people who want to buy my house every other day. It's like harassment.
I would honestly say the same for most Miami Dade. Fiu along with some other companies have plan to basically build a downtown across the canal next to 8th st on sweetwater
Joe “Cuban mafia” Carollo
Yea they purchased that property to make that restaurant owner miserable
How are they charging so much money for rent and the property looks like a trap house , why isn't the county doing anything about this . They should be ashamed of how that place looks
This is Miami, rent is an insanely high. Even affordable housing is out of reach for locals.
Theres hundreds of buildings like that in that area, and theyre all absurdly priced rent, i kno from experience.
Thank you for getting these people some time to move out. I'm sure the pressure you put on them has helped. Keep up the good work.
Joe Carollo is always up to no good. When will there be a full investigation into this man?
Trial starts on June
Why is the city buying this building,am sure is to built expensive condos.
That building was an uninhabitable tear-down. Mississippi and Louisiana have more affordable housing.
Ok but what is going up? Who benefits from it?
Way to go Joe, howabout helping the People your Pushing out.
Need to worry about the homeless Americans first.
Most are homeless cause they want to. Offer them a job and see how they run away and if they take it it’s for dope. While these ppl are hardworking ppl and will basically do any job to support themselves there’s no comparison whatsoever
@@arislopes1924 I agree with you about a large percentage of the homeless. But lately I am seeing a lot of families lose everything and become homeless because the economy is so bad now and the rent and food just keep going up.I worked 2 jobs to support my kids and still lived in poverty . Things are worse for people now and some get sick or injured and all it takes is to miss one paycheck and they can't catch up.
@@arislopes1924 it is hard to get a job here. Not everyone is hired. There are way too many people here. More people lesser jobs.
The Cuban Mafia.
Now you know why Chief Acevedo was fired.
WOW, its getting worst and worst
The Banana Republic of Miami!
I live there. Don't mind it being a dump, I'll get a nicer place but I'm almost positive there going to build something with the club that's next door. Some people affiliated with them asked me about the property and after that this happened.
The majority of the people that live in that area are from Cuba that receive government assistance.
Actually the majority of people living there are working class immigrants. Whether from Cuba, Nicaragua, El Salvador wherever, they fled a terrible situation to try things out in Miami, a lot of them are limited in where they can go in this country because of they only speak Spanish, but they get by anyway and for the most part work very hard. The real Cuban Mafia are the pre Marialetos in Coral Gables with all the money who always wanted to close the door after them. Carollo being one of them.
They can move to others neighborhoods like homestead
Wow, such a backlash. Something is definitely up. Dirty politicians.
Miami is going to become the homeless capital the way things are going.
Untouchable
Follow the money - you will find corruption.
Another one...so sad! 😥Joe Carollo, only knows about party in Calle Ocho..
Interesting. Good question.
For "New affordable housing". This justification for displacing people needs to stop. Also, were the tenants given money to move?
That's pretty messed up, 14 days notice?! that's bs! Edit: least they extended the move out date, probably due to public outcry and or rental laws
If this makes you angry then do something about it. Gather your buddies and get to work.
FLORIDA IS SO BEAUTIFUL YOU CAN SLEEP ANYWHERE UNDER A TREE SAVE MONEY ON RENT AND PICK THE MANGOS FOR FOOD
Mangos in June only? 🤷♂️
CORRUPT AF‼️
Miami Dade should be expanding the metrorail instead of buying buildings
How is it that a city is buying a private property
Correct the title. “Building” is misspelled.
And you wonder why they're they're evicting them out awesome places over there in Florida people are people who are from different countries buying property in America
Where are those who blame landlords...?
I don't see any of you here yelling and complaining...
If he really cared he would buy it and get funding to renovate it and keep it affordable.
that did that in Hollywood they were going to built affordable housing but the rich pilots wanted there own airport which is north perry airport in hollywood flroda . emitting noise and air pollution 24 hours a day
If this man is from Cuba then he broke the law sometime ago my point is those who committed A CRIME here in the USA Trump sign A LAW that they was going to be sent back to their country NOW doesn't that applies to him it can truly buy y'all some time.
The biggest crime committed here is your grammar. Jezz! I can't make head nor tail of what you're trying to say.
@@davidguiney1746 HE A FXCKING CRIMINAL THAT WHAT I TRYING TO SAY.
What does the property look like no ,some 9 months later? Sounds like another corrupt politician? Granted the property could use a major overhaul.
I can't belive it carollo doesn't care the citizen , only the money is corruption 😡
Something is definitely sketch af here...
Close the border.
Get him out! Carollo pal Hoyo.
Buy a home with several families turn into apartments.
Horrible
People in Miami are akin to zoo animals, in nyc nj.. we would of given 3 to 6 months.
Gentrification
Obviously they don't have leases and are probably squatters. Are they paying rent? Who are the checks made to? Are they rooming house cash tenants? What is the source of Who collected the cash? It looks uninhabitable. What a dump.
You made up a lot to simp for a politician.
Amazing when the uninformed think they haven't informed opinion...🙄
