I love there chocolate, just ordered there grand advent calendar for Christmas this year, it’s £68.00 but it’s worth around £100.00 if you buy all the items separately.

Just watched the program on channel 4 about hotel chocolate. The Ostrich egg looks good and presented in a nice white box, but at £85 I can’t see to many people paying that. It was thick, many layers but not that big. I have only bought people presents of boxes of Hotel chocolates and they seem to like it, or just being polite idk. I would never pay the price for myself. It works out a £1 a chocolate , in most cases. I dont like chocolate that has a shiny look and texture. I think it takes some of the taste away. I remember Cadbury’s chocolate changed when they did this too. It used to melt on your tongue , but when it has that shiny coating it’s not the same . Having been a chocolate lover all my life I do know what I like 😁. I once had a box of Godiva chocolates bought for me, and they were the nicest I had ever had. But even those now are not the same. It seems to me as soon as these big firms go big and sell to supermarkets , that’s when the chocolates don’t seem so good. Maybe it’s just me 🤷‍♀️ but sometimes they are just a big disappointment.

They’ve just had their ‘70% off’ New Year Sale which, obviously, still allows them to make a profit so what was their mark-up when the stuff was at full price ?

I am more than happy to be ‘ripped off’ by Hotel Chocolat given how outstandingly they treat their farmers. This is ethical Chocolat at its absolute best.
