I focus mostly on teaching “Modern RP” (I may just say “RP” in my older videos, but to clarify, I do specifically mean “Modern RP”), however, you will hear a lovely little Yorkshire twang to my accent from time to time too. I can hear the difference quite clearly, with most British people. When it is Americans speaking, I really can't hear any difference.
😑😑😑
same...
Não sei se você é brasileiro, mas se for o caso realmente fica mais perceptível para nós no sotaque britânico, pois as vogais parecem mais claras. No inglês estadunidense eles parecem "relaxar" mais, o que dificulta a percepção.
@@Joao-oo8yj, eu sou brasileiro e nunca tive essa dificuldade, eu sempre ouvi muito claramente a diferença, mesmo quando eu estava começando nem conseguia fazer direito os sons.
good

I found out that I mispronounced that sound previously in one of your lesson on ETL, but this video is so great! It's short and all necessary information is here. I've saved it and going to rewatch😃 Thanks a bunch, Emma, I really liked it😊

We have both sounds in Swedish. We use the letter "Ä/ä" for "æ" sound. It must help a lot of people out there.
Really useful thank you so much
Dear Emma, congratulations for your pronunciation lessons and sessions. They are very useful. You are good at finding sufficient details forming necessary explanations, and producing sounds yourself.
You told me that a position of my mouth was incorrect in respect of a couple of vowels. To make corrections, it is not easy, but you really help by providing tips.
my favourite teacher among all teachers on UA-cam. 🥰😍😍
You're so lovely! Thank you :)
Hi Emma. Thank you so much for your lessons. They are very helpful.
I 'm from India(knowing Hindi, Urdu, Arabic, so, I can pronounce All Consonants, and vowel, diphthongs sound
Thanks, God
Great, clear
Hello emma thankyou very much.
Dear Emma, your videos are grest. I have a question that's been bothering me for a while. You know how there are 3 ways to pronounce 'ed' at the end of verbs in the past simple. So we would have /t/, /d/ and /Id/. But what about verbs like carry, marry or rally, where we say something like /id/ at the end? Is the /id/ considered another way of pronouncing 'ed'? Many thanks!!
They end with /d/ :)
Love your British pronunciation!
Thanks 🌹
Why do you pronounce sound s after t? Sounds like mats, pats?
Thank you
Love and thanks
Good work
Thank you so much for this useful lesson, I am from India, I'm too confused in both sounds
Your video helps me a lot! I have been confused about how to pronounce /æ/ for a long time!!
Thanks for your video, I corrected my pronunciation and finally knew how to pronounce /æ/!
My example sentence; The fat cat met the ant on the mat.
This is a motivational lesson. Thank you.

Hello! It's an awesome video! Everything is clear. And now my cheeks are aching from practicing [æ] sound 😅😅
Could you please make a video without explanation, like test for differentiating those sounds in words?☺️
Good idea. Next time I ask for requests, please remind me of this :)
Hello Elena, are you a teacher of English in Russia? I'm asking cus I'm a teacher in Russia, I work mostly with kids and their parents can't stop complaining about the way I pronounce apple, cat, bat, dad etc.. with an /a/ instead of /e/, I've told them severally that I can't change my pronunciation to an /e/ since it doesn't sound natural to me but it has continue to be a problem reason being that the kids always correct their teachers at school. I'm confused on what to do. Russian learnt this sound as /e/ and it's difficult to make them understand it's actually an /a/..what do you suggest..I'm tired of the parents trying to make me pronounce it as /e/ instead just so that their wards can get good grades at school.
Emma...have you a video about syllabic consonants: syllabic n and syllabic l ? Thank you.
Not yet
Than you Emma
thanks a lot
Hi Emma, I am so grateful to watch you video. so helpful! Love your lovely face and smile.
Thanks for amazing video ☺️
I've learnt alot from you miss emma... I appreciate your videos.. i'm from india.. Pronunciation is very difficult for me... by the way, your smilling is very beautiful and charm, lovely
Thanks!
So uhh, this is quite wrong. the letter originally is a ligature representing the Latin diphthong ae and the letter æ is used by us danes among a few other languages. You pronounce æ exactly the way bed is pronounced in danish. It is only correct if you purely look at the britsh pronounciation which is pretty weird considering that it is primarily scandinavia that uses it.
This video is teaching the British phonemic chart's sounds. It's nothing to do with Danish or other languages. Purely the British phonemic chart.
This is the sound I was waiting for. Thank you. Personally I have difficulties between the sound of bat and but.
I truly appreciate what you do for us. I wish you a great weekend as well.
Anibal Mansilla check out this video to learn the difference between BAT and BUT! :) ua-cam.com/video/KCWNFNy7qZE/v-deo.html
Thank u
Love u❤️
Great job
hi Emma, how to pronounce mention and mansion? if you don't mind
so what z difference between cat n cut ?
Thank you very much. 💚💙💜
Thank you, dear Emma, for this useful lesson. You know, I've come up with another exercise on this topic:
"It's so bad to lie in bed
a whole day like lazy cat"!
By the way, I have a question that I've been wanting to ask a real English-speaking person for a long time: is it permissible to skip the article for the sake of preserving the rhyme, as I just did?
And another question that appeared just now. I used the construction "I've been wanting..." Is it correct? Maybe I should use "I wanted"?
I thank you in advance, dear Emma...! Greetings from Moscow...
I munna learn american englishbut I love watching these ema videos njirrrr
How did you do it?
Professor Emma, you have created a great problem - both sounds I have been saying incorrectly: AE versus E - but you have proposed some new approach. More difficult for me is to say more or less correctly Cup versus Apple. Can you understand my problem? Isn't it strange for you? It hurts me fighting with pronunciation. My misery.
Wonderful
Thanks a lot!
I love this sort of thing.
Let us learn more in the future. Thank you.
شكرا ست
Thank you soooooo much Emma for your videos! So helpful 🙏🙏🙏
