Thanks Mike for giving us a review on the sound quality of the new RSD doors really appreciate it bought the doors debut record the day it came out in 1967 and saw the doors live in 1967 just like you big fan
Getting an early night here in the Netherlands to get up early and support my local shop. By the time I am done I have plenty of time to sit back, relax and watch the In Groove's livestream!
I'd love to see you do a shoot out on all the pressings of Remain in Light. When I look around online people seem to either settle on the 1980 Japanese pressing, US Promo or 1984 CD.
Those are great pickups!! I got the Arizona/Las Vegas variant of Pearl Jam's Dark Matter album and Apocalyptica Worlds Collide RSD Vinyl, and both pressings sound AMAZING!! i immediately snatched the Pearl Jam one cuz i don't know how long they're gonna last, but i'm glad i did.
Yes, more useful than unboxing. You already do a flip through all the records that have come into your store, no need to open them up; rather you listen to some and provide insight into a few albums. Thank you!
Saw The Talking Heads at the Roundhouse in London on June 5th 1977, great show! 😊. Oh and The Doors at the Isle of Wight festival 1970, his voice was amazing, so powerful 🎉
Thanks Mike, this is very helpful. I was going to get the Talking Heads album anyway, but you've taken out any concerns I had. I haven't seen you mention The Best of Band X album. It is the first reissue of a cult private press album from a jazz band from the 70’s. It's jazz funk in the same vein as Herbie Hancock's Headhunters. I think your like it, and I can't imagine it gets another reissue.
My three favorite jazz titles, Chet Baker & Jack Sheldon In Perfect Harmony: The Lost Album, Cannonball Aderley Poppin’ in Paris Live at L’Olympia 1972 and my personal favorite, Mal Waldron Steve Lacey The Mighty Warriors, great sounding recording.
If his vocals are breaking up after that many engineers have looked at and worked the master, it is because the front of the house, at the show, live, had the mic to high and clipped the signal, which was SUPER common back then. Every venue had different AC mains. One amp worked in one venue and blew up in the next. I have no idea if the Doors brought some PA equipment or a front of the house, but almost certainly not. Put the wrong mic in front of Morrison, or Chris Stapleton, or Pavoratti, or Aretha, or even a guy like John Denver and you will blow the top off the meter so fast your head will spin. I would bet good money they did the best they could with the performance, rather than failing in the mastering.
I have just bought the Doors live vinyl from my local store's RSD event - I love it! Sounds amazing considerding, waaaaay better than the unofficial version of this show that's been kicking around for years. :) Lovely stuff. Although I thought the package was a bit feeble considering the price - the LA Woman Sessions was the same price I much nicer. But hey ho. Some great live-only parts on this show. And Jim does really, really scream on this show! lol.
I was so excited to see the 30th anniversary Murder was the case soundtrack being released but I believe the track “come when I call” by Danny Boy is the “remixed” version, which sounds terrible and I really like the original version, ugh what to do??🤷♂️🤦♂️
Thanks for sharing these Mike! Surprised there wasn’t a booklet in the Talking Heads record. However, one of our top peeves is having two records sleeved in one jacket-UUUUUGH!!🤬👎🎧

Thanks Mike, this is sooooooooo much more useful than the unboxing videos. Hope that Talking Heads comes out in 33 rpm later down the road.
Thanks Mike! Thanks for showing Doors vinyl. Must have. Thx.
Thanks Mike, appreciate your doing this video for us when you are swamped with things to do. Now get back to opening those RSD deliveries!
You nailed it on the Talking Heads review; the biggest surprise and winner of my '24 RSD (AAA, super clean, so dynamic and clear). Ty boss!
I'd love to see you do a shoot out on all the pressings of Remain in Light. When I look around online people seem to either settle on the 1980 Japanese pressing, US Promo or 1984 CD.
The Nat Kong Cole record looks wonderful. I look forward to your live stream. Take care. 😀
Hope you have The Stones & Elton Sunday morning!

The PJ one for $46 sounds great
Guess that's what we have to pay now to get a nice flat quiet record.
@Pkilla80 some vinyls are around $20-$30. I recently got a Jack White record that was just $20, and it sounds amazing!!
The Talking Heads recorded that one 30 miles away from where I live and grew up. It was popular in Massachusetts!

Thanks Mike for the great video! You explain the records so well.
Been enjoying your daily videos! Good luck tomorrow!
Thanks for the reviews. Very helpful. I may want that Nat King Cole. I got the Talkibg Heads already. Happy to have snagged that one!!

I was at Axpona too, sorry I missed ya.
You can't go wrong with Bill Evans! Great album. That's a nice Ramones too! Great video!
Mornin' Mike, have an awesome and productive RSD🤘
Great review of the Albums
Fun fact - Rock station 94.5 WCOZ Boston flipped to a CHR format and changed it's call letters to WZOU in 1984. Today it's WJMN.

Hi Mike.
What's the meaning of tip on jacket?
Thanks
Holy gloss on the Nat King Cole!

Great video. I’ll be looking for that Nat King Cole now.
Is there plenty of copies of these so they’ll actually be available on Saturday without a hassle?
Electrafixion, Dead Milkmen, SFA, Bowie are in my possession and are fantastic. WCOZ 94 -1/2 was a Boston monster of a station!!!
I bought the Nat King Cole album and both discs are the same! Wondering if that’s the case with anyone else
I was so excited to see the 30th anniversary Murder was the case soundtrack being released but I believe the track “come when I call” by Danny Boy is the “remixed” version, which sounds terrible and I really like the original version, ugh what to do??🤷♂️🤦♂️
If you get a copy of Kaoru Inuoe's 'Dedicated To The Island', listen to it! If you don't like it, I'll buy it.
My old friend Joe Nino-Hernes cut that new Heads disc.
Thanks for sharing these Mike! Surprised there wasn’t a booklet in the Talking Heads record. However, one of our top peeves is having two records sleeved in one jacket-UUUUUGH!!🤬👎🎧
In your house, you need to make isles of vinyl not just up against the wall.
I will probably buy the Talking Heads and David Bowie on vinyl, but would prefer to have them on CD instead
1st RSD since 2019 there is not a single record I want. Is what it is, far from upset, just a fact.
Same here.
Whoa white label speaking in tongues!
Well, Elton John’s Caribou be as in demand and is solid of a recording is don’t shoot these 2023 record story day release?
What
How is the quality of the vinyl? Is it warped like all other new vinyl?
Non swedish speaking people can pronounce the Doors title "The Concert house" (swedish can be a little bit tricky) :-)
I wonder what your collection is worth.
Can't wait to stand in line with a bunch of brainless Taylor swift fans tomorrow morning 💀
To each their own, at least they're supporting your local record store as well.. 🤷♂️
@@r_k_f I agree, but I still have the right to be annoyed lol.
@@ll4680 so mature 🙄
