I think it was three years ago I started a blog and struggled with creating it. Like most people, I haven't worked on it as much as I should and it's just hanging out doing nothing. Oh wait, it's me doing nothing, not the blog, it's waiting for me to make things happen.

Would this work for a service biz though? Like a tool rental biz? Not really.... right?
Why not? Tool rentals may not fit the demographic of Pinterest, but lots of service businesses do.
or.... or.... I took an entire Saturday... Had chatgpt build me a python script to scrape that info off my own websites and then I used a program to create all the pins for me and scheduled them out. And now I have 2,000+ Pins scheduled out to post to my boards at about 10~15 a day until 2025. :D

I have also been pinning 3-5 pins on Pinterest since Oct 2023, This is July 2024 and I haven't gotten up to 1000 clicks per month. And yes I have been following Pinterest best practices.
So I wonder how that guy in your video got to 30K visits/month
Our site Cook for Folks gets over 5000 clicks per month and has only had Pinterest since December.
There are lots of possible reasons why one site would do better than another but for some sites it’s definitely working.

Absolutely. Kara uses it to send traffic to her store on her site and to Etsy directly.

Can being on Pinterest have a negative effect on Google ranking?
no, they're not connected.
After what we've faced in the last year. I wouldn't want to let what Google thinks or wants decide what I do with my website. But yeah, Kara's right.
I use ai software to create pins.
I have 3 Pinterest accounts pointing to 3 websites.
Ai reads my blog post and makes a month's worth of pins
It's useless with images and different fonts but it's really good with the text it creates.
I wish I had the money to make my own version of this software.

Nope. You can do everything you need without using any paid scheduling tool.
@@IncomeSchool I agree but years ago they had this feature called "Tribes" where other people would share your pins on their boards. I used to get good traffic (lower quality though) from those. Then Pinterest did their updates and it kind of became redundant.

Yep, at least we tried to. The winner stopped responding after a few emails and never transferred the domain.
After 2 years and multiple follow ups I decided it was probably okay to move on.

@@IncomeSchool It's amazing how unresponsive people are in general. I find it a big challenge. People fill out a contact form, get a fast comprehensive reply, and we never hear from them again even if following up. If they're not interested they don't care to communicate that I guess. It would be an interesting topic to research what's causing this and how to get more out of leads. Just knowing why they're not interested would be very valuable.

Why did you lost traffic? Becouse you create content for google boots, not for people. Simple.
That's a big part of it. But even sites that created content for people first lost a lot of traffic, in large part because Google either can't tell the difference, or doesn't care to. They're relying a lot on other signals about the authoritativeness of the website and the brand rather than the content itself.

How do you source photos? Do you have a stock photo site you recommend? I'm thinking of starting a blog, but I don't have a good camera. I heard Pinterest likes unique photos.
Unique photos are definitely best. We’ve used 123RF for stock photos for a while and they have a good selection. Now I try to take as many of my own photos as I can so they’ll be unique.
