I much prefer the flexibility and freedom of MDI, though I grant that a CGM is the key. If you understand your insulin/s and how they work and have the info to adjust as needed, it's hard for a pump to do a better job.
With the ultra-fast-acting insulins on the market now, data is the key. If you know your numbers and know how to adjust them, the tools are available to do so without the hassle of a pump.
It's up to you every person is different. Some like the pump set what I hear from people. I know a lot of insurance companies. Don't cover a pump. It just 2 expensive, but if you got the money you go for it. But people use the pens faster and easier. And you have no trouble with any Insurance Company. They pay for everything you need. With insulin pens, check it out.❤😂😊😮
I'm potentially about to go on a pump after 30 years of injecting, and subsequently having so many lipo that it is hard to get an accurately absorbing injection.
You saying having a whole dominoes as 15 units. I'd currently be on at least 50+ despite being slim.
Glad I found your channel, you seem to describe things clearly.
I started with MDI, then went to a pump for a few years when they first came out, then back to MDI for several more years, and now on a pump again for the last year. I've had diabetes for 35 years. Over the past year, my A1C on a pump has not been any better than MDI. I believe the main reason is because of numerous problems with insulin absorption at pump infusion sites (due to scar tissue and fat). In the near future I will be going back to MDI with a 'smart pen' this time.
@@tjgreen6204 I've now been on the Omnipod DASH for about 7 months or so now. It's working out better than injections and cut my insulin requirement down to around 2/3 of my previous needs. Still get absorption issues though, and after putting a new pod on for another 6hrs I can work out if it's going to be one that requires upto 20% extra to work the same as a "normal" one.
I’ve been on pumps since 1991. It was a big change from the old fashion MDI. Syringes, no pens. All my pants have a hole cut in the pants pocket for the tubing.I always carried in my pocket. Now I’m using OmniPod 5 and really like it.
That’s an amazing solution 😂 I really love the t slim
Am I the only one who is wondering why Becky stopped making new videos here after being a regular for so long? Have you looked for her on Instagram or anywhere else?
i am in a insulin pump at 5 years.
When i was in a insulin pen my level was so good but in the pump not so much . Bubbles , bend cannulas , etc..
So why not go back to the pen??
@@greentokyo Less injections everyday
What is the best solution if the blood sugar is high at 4.55 grams?
I would be grateful if you answered my question + My mother is 58
i prefer injection, the downside of pump is you will be insulin dependent, you don't give a chance to your body to heal itself and you don't know whether you reverse it or not.
Haven't heard from you in awhile Becky. I really enjoy your videos and was wondering if you can do an update on how you are doing on the Tandem.
I'm wondering also why she has disappeared. I know she used to be on Instagram. Maybe you can look for her there.
Diabetes awareness this month 👍🧸😊🎗🎗
I would love some more videos from you but it seems you have gone :(
There is new policy and pumps from NHS. Automatic pumps will be available. And diabetics can better control their treatment.
