Great video!!! Although Mariah definitely has live F#5s in emotions worth showing and one that was sharp to G5, and Celine in that song had also mixed B5 in a performance!!! Great video nonetheless, I always look forward to your videos! It was a very interesting pick for Celine, kudos for that!
nailed it! sober is such a hard song to sing. btw she had 2 hours and a half of sleep that day! and she was on her period on the clip with the extra F#5
@@atolm1 She has the technique to keep singing live, she just chooses not to obviously due to her health condition. But "Tous Les Blues Sont Ecris Pour Toi" was sung live on every occasion.
For Emotions, the 1991-92 performances where she performed -1 semitone from studio is by far the most challenging version that she’s performed. The constant phrased Eb5s and E5s and some F#5s are insane.
Interesting. For Kelly, I'd have maybe chosen something like BTHE or Timeless. For Demi, not sure. She's got some very intricate climaxes in every album
@@addictedtovocals yeah :/ I think she had a pretty bad vocal injury from touring her impossible songs and never lip syncing and she never fully recovered. It so sad, *but* when she was Grizabella in Cats on Broadway she fucking MURDERED it
@@rhettmitchell she did two full 18 song tours in 2/3 different years, with her nose job done and her constant performing after falling sick from the 2012 tour, things just got worse from there.
ain’t there a G5 belt in emotions?? i think kelly would NAIL this song, that’s the only song i think would be a challenge for her because she barely uses her whistle register but she has such a good control with it, so idk
@@doctorits nah not in emotions the E3s aren't just simple and so is the g5s even tho the dynamics and the runs and whisle transitions are literally so weird ,i mean legacy is legacy she's Mariah f carey after all
Kelly is one of the best vocalists today but she cannot sing Emotions and i’m not talking about the transitions whistles parts only but as a whole. Just because you can hit some G5’s or E3’s doesn’t mean that you can nail this song, the phrassing of that song requires alot of support in those multiples upper belts with power and clear ennunciation in between runs and riffs for each ‘word’. You don’t just have to hit E3’s but sometimes doing melismas going even lower till C3 and then going up again in the same breath, I don’t even think of kelly hitting rounded E3’s without taking breaths and I’ve never heard Kelly sing a song in the same « TEMPO » as Emotions which is the most difficult part to be able to do all of that. Kelly sung ‘Love takes time’ which seems easy but we already saw the struggle, it doesn’t sound as effortless just because the support required to phrase Mariah’s notes need alot of Chest M2 coordination which is hard to achieve. Most singers will clearly change Mariah’s Original arrangement and ‘TEMPO’ even Patti labelle did so it’s not just because she is ‘Kelly Clarkson’.
YESS PUT SOME RESPECT ON LEONA'S HOMELESS!!! THAT SONG IS ONE OF THE HARDEST SONGS IN LIFE. I love her agility in the ascending melisma for when she says "anymore." Leona's agility in general is very underrated, probably because she rarely shows it off, but when she does it's impressive. Also Broken is up there too!!
all mariah’s songs are a suicide for common singers … dont you dare think you can sing her discography… you are not mariah (open arms, butterfly, someday, we belong together etc)
We need part 2! Agree for Mariah. Emotions for me is the hardest song to sing. I would choose Mariah's performance from 1991 VMA where she hits Bb7 ua-cam.com/video/BzBS7nx00Kw/v-deo.html&ab_channel=TMF-TheMusicFactory

Ariana’s breathin SWT(belting up to bb5, multiple g#5’s, falsettos up to c6 and ending with a sustained f5) or dangerous woman we can survive(falsetto up to e6, sustained e5 leading up to multiple g5’s and a belted a5) climax should be added tbh
All of what U mentioned were adlibs. None of those notes were in the original song so they don’t count. Except for DW because the climax is still difficult even without all the adlibs
Emotions obviously belongs on this list!!!!!! I would also say Demi Lovato's Confident Rock Version is VERY difficult, especially with the C#6 BELT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No one has duplicated her songs. Her national anthem is still the greatest. You have to have the voice. Many have tried and failed. Mariah has always been gravely and hoarse. Whitney was crystal clear pure tone. Even AI cleans up Mariah cracking with Whitney’s voice. Any Whitney AI of Mariah has all the top notes clear and strong. Mariah always cracks when belting or trying sustain notes.
