Building The Tunnel and Trellis | Aka... The Luffa Dome

- We are trying our hand at growing Luffa's this summer... you know, the all natural sponge! I hope to utilize it in my soap making DIY projects, but this plant that is in the gourd family grows like crazy! So it needs a sturdy home to climb on. Buddy and I build out the trellis and tunnel for the plants to thrive! Come along with us!

I am amazed everyday at how harmonious you two are as a married couple. You develop, plan and execute your ideas so well together. You are a perfect example of what every marriage should be.
Buddy,YOU are a blast to watch and your jokes and your laugh after them are hilarious 😂...Love how you help Steph on her projects..
Buddy is a sweetheart Stephani he follows you lead, you’re good together. I’m thinking the cow panel should go a bit higher remember you have plants covering and it will make it shorter in height. Just an opinion 😊 Luna is very well behaved 🐕
Thank you for sharing your day with the community. Praying for you to have 10K soon. God Bless you all.
Okay I have a confession. I wasn’t sure about subscribing when Pawpaw mentioned about your channel. I thought you were the serious type (from Sunday lunch videos). I decided to trust my instinct and started watching. I love seeing the other side of you and quickly fell in love seeing you, Buddy and Elora (Gi raved about her helping with the kids). Keep on keeping on
Yay! Thanks for coming along!
I’m super interested in luffas! It’ll be cool seeing them grow in The Dome!
Hello Steph,,I was a little bewildered as I never heard of a loofah other than what we use as a scrubber on our bodies. Then I looked it up and was even more surprised that it's a vegetable! I'm learning! Lol could you tell us more about this vegetable and how it goes from veggie to scrubber. Thanks Steph😊 Buddy, The man, The myth, The loofah builder
Oh Buddy you are so much fun!!! Having fun making an awesome garden together.💕💕
Buddy is a luffah minute. Seriously, I love your humor.
I love this! And I love that Buddy is on board and super helpful! 👌 You two are a great team. The garden is fantastic!
Good morning Stephanie and Buddy thank you for your awesome videos. Yall make my days better.❤
Looks like Y'all are doing a great job. Can't wait to see the tunnel when the plants grow up the arch.
Good Wednesday 🐪 morning, Stephanie and Buddy. I have never seen loofah grow. I am excited to see yours grow. You and Buddy work well together. Have a blessed day. ❤️
Coming soon, "The loofah dome." I use the same concept for a lot of different things, from squash, cantaloupe, cucumber, peas, beans, anything viney that grows up and out. Tomatoes can be trained as well. Harvest is so much simpler and shaded underneath. By planting trellis tunnels, several items can be grown in a much smaller space. Less work in the long run. Plus, I don't need to tear down and start over every year. Additionally, in cold temps, I can easily convert the space into a winter greenhouse if I want. Looks great so far. Buddy, the man, the myth, the muscle, the hero of the day.
I use the arched cattle panels too to grow my vining veggies. One thing I learn is to do what Buddy suggested with weaving the T-posts through the panels because when you go to pick the veggies the zip ties break and then you end up with a wobbly mess and it’s a lot harder to pick whatever your growing. I had to use scissors to cut off my cucumbers with one hand and hold the fence with the other hand or replace all of the zip ties that broke.
What a great team ya'll are. I successfully grew loofah in Austin, but have never been successful in Arkansas. Looking forward to garden, chick and the humor ya'll include in your videos. Have the best day possible
The Luffa Dome is going to be great. I love Buddies antics and jokes, he's quite the character. You both did a great job . I can't wait for you to show us when the dome is all filled in and you walking in the tunnel. I believe it's going to be gorgeous. I don't know what a Luffa is but I can't wait to see. Thankyou you and Buddy for your step by step in all you do. Have a wonderful day.
I love watching you two working together.
If I had a man like Buddy I would still be married. I am divorced 30 years this May 😆 🤣 😂
I love watching the two of you work together! You guys are hilarious!
“Buddy Denman, just doing what he is told”
Hi guys!!! Garden is rowing, rowin, rowin, look at that garden growing!! DENMAN
Good morning my beautiful family
Mornin Steph those tunnels are great and would work well to let your Cucumber’s grow up on also for easy picking and shelter of the cucumbers ! Also those tunnels if put up down where you had your greenhouse , would make a great greenhouse next winter covered in thick clear plastic and you could have a much bigger greenhouse to start and grow your seedlings in and probably grow tomatoes all winter in and onions and maybe other veggies , you’d have the room cause all you have to do is put as many tunnel panels together as you want and cover the ends with plastic sheeting with a 2x2 attached at the bottom and then the ends could be easily rolled up and secured with Velcro to allow with ventilation and when Down use the Velcro to wrap the excess plastic ( about a foot on each side ) use double sided tape to attach Velcro on sides to close up ends wrapped around to the side to over lap to Keep heat in !! You’d cut your 2x2 same width as tunnel so the excess plastic to be wrapped around would easily wrap around sides to be secured to keep in the heat! I did this same thing over my sons fish pond only I used PVC pipe to make a dome over the fish pond and his fish and plants live all winter and the dome sheds off snow , ice and rain easily! Living in Ohio we have to worry about the snow and ice something you don’t usually have to worry about , but the PVC gave his tunnel more strength ! You’d still use your shelves or build more out of materials found around the house! God bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻
Very good advice for a greenhouse. Big Family Small Farm built 2 that way an they are in Alabama I think.
Buddy and Stephanie, you both work so well together. Love your Loofah Dome. Sure hope feathered & other animals stay out of your garden and let it thrive. Can't wait to see the fruits of all your labor 😍.
What an amazing guy. Steph, you are a lucky woman. Buddy’s damn lucky too. Kim did an awesome job raising him.
Good morning Stephanie and Buddy...😀😃
Thank you for another wonderful video.
Good Morning Stephanie and Buddy
We need more Buddy, lol love the humor. I enjoy all your videos Stephanie great job can't wait to see them fill out. Luv ya guys ❤️ 💙 💜
I saw a few years ago , someone who grew lufa ,strange but nice 👍,so let's get planting and have fun seeing how they grow 🪴.👋💚☘️👍
It’s cool watching u 2 work together PawPaw always says how nice your garden looks 👍👍🍓🇺🇸🇺🇸🌶🥒🥦🌽🍓🍅🥦
You both are amazing. I call you guys the dream team. I just adore both you and love your videos. I’ve learned so much from both of you. Have a Blessed Day 💕
Good morning Stephanie and Buddy ☕🌞🌻🐝🍯🐝Can't wait to watch the loofa plants to grow, that's going to fascinating as I've never seen it grown or tried it😁 I was mentioning to PawPaw you should try to grow your own lemon grass! It makes beautiful borders , ECT, smells so good when rubbed ,then you could make your own lemon grass oils for your bees, soaps lotions!💞 It also is good to use to repel mosquitoes, fleas, flys and ants! 🐜🕷️Thank you for sharing your daily projects🥰🌻🍯🐝
I have never seen Luffa growing, I am very interested in seeing it. Thank you and Buddy.
Loofahs are beautiful. I grew them for family gift baskets for years. The big yellow blooms and ivy like leaves are so pretty. Thanks for reminding me of such a special time in my life.
Buddy is the best and what I love is how you two are truly a team. I was married half my life and never had a "partner" I should of listened to my dad 😅. oh what I would do to be young again and start from scratch , but with all the knowledge I have now! Oh btw everytime I see Elora in anyone's videos I just love her dresses ❤️
Buddies sense of humor kills me. You two are a good team.
I love watching you guys work together so in sink with each other 🦚🐮🐓🐐🐄🐝🐷🐥🦆🐈⬛❤️🌻
That is absolutely awesome and is going to be beautiful. I can’t wait to see the end result. ♥️
Norma here. I’ve never heard of growing loofa, so this is very interesting.
You and Buddy work so well together. You calmly figure things out and he actually listens to you and vice versa. Buddy is also so funny which makes hard work fun. Hope your loofa dome does everything you want it to do.
The garden looks incredible and the fact it’s done all by hand is so rewarding! Looks stunning and I can’t wait to watch the progress! 🌱 ✨ Wishing you a very fruitful season 🐝
Stephanie and Buddy, I love what the trellis look like. Can’t wait to see the plants growing up them!
Hi Stephanie and Buddy!
My neighbors have 2 raised garden beds that are 2 feet high by 4 ft wide and 8 foot long........the 2 beds are 3 feet apart where they placed a cattle panel. Over the last 4 years they have rotated there cucumbers and green beans........with excellent success!
Love the lufa tunnel. You can do the same thing for your greenhouse, too. Even if it is just temporary while you save up for the greenhouse you really want. 💖
" loofah dome." Let the growing begin. 🌱
Buddy always remember happy wife happy life...I love watching you two
I love y'all's teamwork! I can't wait to see plants grow! ❤
The tunnel looks great,as does the garden, well done.
Good morning Steph and Buddy. You guys have great ideas. Can’t wait to see the vines crawling on those panels. Have a great day. Much love from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦💕💕
Stephanie, next year make your greenhouse out of two or more cattle panels and cover it with plastic. Then you will be able to have room for all your seedlings.
Great project. Also maybe consider growing gourds to make bird houses. That's right up your ally and they can be another product for sale in Kim's future farm stand. Just a thought.
Hey Stephanie and Buddy ❤️ the trellis looks so good. Love y'all and God bless you and your family 💕💕💕💕💕
Can’t wait to see it! Thanks for sharing guys!
Hi Stephanie and Buddy that is gong to loom awesome with plants going up them can’t wait to see this. You’ve worked so hard on this and all your hard work really shows. Well done to you both looking so good have a great day take care and God Bless. 💕🙏🧑🌾
That will be so cool when there’s vines covering it it works well with beans and cucumbers to
You might want to go about a half a foot higher, remember there will be plants hanging down on the top. If your heads just a few inches from the top of the arch, you will be either bending over to walk under ir or getting your hair tangled in the vines.
Great attitude buddy! "Do what you're told" 👍🤣
We've used the cattle panel s for tunnels also. We grew cucuzza ( an Italisn squash), cucumbers and also pole beans on ours.
Harvesting is quite easy, with the produce just hanging there, begging to be picked. In your weather, the tunnels will also be cooler inside.
Give cukes a try on the tunnels.
We had absolutely no problems getting to anything else in our garden.
Buddy is over -thinking the sturdiness, so quit worrying. The T posts should be more than enough to keep the panels in place.
No losing ripening produce, as it all should hang down.
I hope the tunnels are a winner for you.
The dome would also be great for cucumbers, beans, peas etc
Y’all are so diverse and interesting! Look forward to watching the process of making Loofahs
“ the love of gardening is a seed once sown that never dies “
Another great team effort love seeing you two work together 😂❤you are both blessed not often you see this happen!Buddy your sense of humor cracks me up 😂
Stephanie I think Buddy is right, if you weave it on the post it will be more stable.... But that looks great.....❤❤❤❤
Looks great!! You and Buddy work well together.❤❤❤
Great job 👏 very happy you showed us the way arches can be made . Thanks ❤
I am so enjoying your garden, it just keeps looking Greater 🌻
You two are hard workers and you work so well together! PawPaw might get jealous when he sees this trellis?!
Very interesting. This should be really pretty when all grown. You two are a great team.
Garden is coming along great 👍
I’m looking forward to watching your garden grow….beautifully!
We grew Luffa one year ,they did great ,we had so many and they got huge and they were heavy. Love your videos!✌💚
I can’t wait to see how the loofahs turn out!
This is so exciting to watch your garden process. I'm still under 2 ft of snow here in Ontario. Love my gardens they are my stress release. Will be so happy when I can smell soil again.
I would leave enough space between them to reach on the top to pull vegetables. I hope to grow lots of beans/peas on mine. Maybe some maters as well. I'm excited for the garden this year. I hope I'm around long enough to have another great garden.
Enjoy your youth/health while you have it. ❤
That is so cool; I watched an entire video on loofa growing and had the desire but after the accident I lost the ability and am now in a apartment. Excited to watch you grow yours!!
Great teamwork. Can't wait to see when everything is blooming and harvesting season. Thanks for sharing
Buddy = Plum Grove's Jason Momoa... LOL. Love watching you two, you are such a fun couple!
Looks beautiful you guy's do great work ! You kill me with your jokes Buddy 😂😂😂😂
I love the name Luffa Dome :) the garden is an amazing size, reminds me of being a kid, we hand dug ours the first few years, then my parents bought a tiller. I do recall something about not growing onions I think next to cucumbers as they would take on the taste, something like that...
A shade tunnel to sit and watch the peppers grow
Great job Steph and Buddy.
Buddy reminds me so much of my husband . They are so patient with us .... hahahaha
Man I have seen loufahs in ages. Always thought they were pretty col
Hi Denman Clan!👋
The Dynamic Duo at work again! I love ❤️ the cattle panel arbor you made! So creative! Can't wait to see vines growing on it.
I'm a little confused w the "loofahs" you planted. I know loofah as natural growing, made into mitts to slough off dead cells. I never heard of the cuke kind. Well, we live n learn! Thx 💙 .
Thx for sharing your adventure w us.
Have a blessed 🙌 day.
❤️ n 🙏s. Always. Elly 🇨🇦
All you need to do is put heavy plastic over the top and close in the ends and you have a green house. You two work wonderful together.
You can also train cucumbers, green beans and several other vegetables to grow up them.
You left me hangin'
You guys crack me up🤣🤣 Can't wait to see the loofah gourds growing on the fence. I've heard you can eat them when they're still small, they taste similar to zucchini.
My daughter and son-in-law made raised beds with trellises over them. They turned out great! I have to tell you about the neatest vegetable they grew on one. It's called rampacante squash. The longest one was actually 41 inches long!! They hung down from the trellis, soo cool!
Oh wow!
Buddy Denman the right hand man 😂😂💜🇦🇺💜🇦🇺💜
Can you do that with cucumber plants too? If so I would like try that with cucumbers.🥰
Awesome video. God Bless 💕💕💕
Looking forward to seeing your garden grow
I’m looking forward to your loofah tunnel ❤

Love watching you Buddy & Steph. The luffa dome is awesome. Keep up the good work.
I did that with the cattle panels for grapevines, and I wove them through the post zip ties break
Love watching your videos ♥️
You two are the dynamic duo and I can't wait to see it when the plants start climbing.. I will bet you could make a greenhouse frame then cover in plastic - maybe some PVC added :)
Awesome can’t to it with all the in bloom!!
