This is not a review, this is a poorly thought comparison to games you know. Do you even know what RTS mean? This is a turn based game, not a slow RTS. I don't think is fair for you to evaluate and even grade the game based on it's not civ like, and it's starcraft for you... The developers didn't do the game thinking: I want this game to be like a civ game, or endless legends with a good diplomacy system, they did it their way. And if you're looking for comparisons, it strikes me more of heroes of might and magic game, where the objective is train, search, destroy...
Liked purely for mentioning the game and therefore helping to maintain the game's profile. It deserves a decent, in-depth review, though, it's such a good game. Look at Total Biscuit's video on it, the depth he applied was truly deserving.
wow, thats a first one. the lack of understanding is actually impressive. AoW 3 is more like company of heroes and C&C then endless legends? iam not a big AoW 3 fan (AoW:SM ftw) but you sir, have no clue of what ur talking about.
AOW III is not like a RTS game at all. It is more like XCOM with strategy and tactics. It is best when played on a random map. AOW III is one of the best strategy games ever made
I can see your logic with the comparison to X-COM. I enjoyed the mini-battles and how they interact with the grand campaign, and kind of hope to see something like Civ or Endless Legend try to expound on that. I'm actually considering buying the new AOW in August, and am hoping they add a lot more diplomacy options.
