I don’t understand why everyone keeps saying 151 was hard to find. I bought ETBs all the way up to last June at under MSRP. I bought about 40 ETBs for $44 off of Amazon, I bought 10 ETBs for $45 off GameStop, I bought about 10 of them at MSRP from my local target, I bought 5 ETBs for less than MSRP at my Costco, I bought probably 40 mini tins ON SALE from my local Sam’s club for about $5 apiece because NOBODY WAS BUYING THEM and they were on clearance, and I bought at least 20 UPCs for way under MSRP all the way up to last July. That’s about a year straight if not more of 151 being readily available for less than MSRP. Where is this narrative coming from? Is it regional, maybe?
If you keep hearing everyone say it then its probably true. I mean, I haven't been able to find any 151 in my area for months now and I know because I've checked constantly. Even Shrouded Fable be selling out at my target store.
@Socherbal yes, I do actually, but guess what? All sold out, too. Trust me, bro, I checked. As for Amazon, it's selling over MSRP and I read a lot of reviews of people getting their cards resealed after the hit cards are stolen.

I believe that for what ever reason Pokemon decided to give a larger portion of allocation to big box stores instead of smaller LGS's. Also, the reason why LGS's are receiving less than usual is because a lot more stores who never carried Pokemon before are now asking for Pokemon because of the hype that is going on right now so this means there is less to go around.

They are certainly geared up and allocating print time for certain sets. We likely won't see the reprints hit for quite a while though. And by the time they hit, this wave of fickle interest in pokemon may pass, and drive prices of the reprinted sets into the earth. Certainly for surging sparks, but it all depends on what they reprint and how much of it. 151 is likely the biggest target for a reprint.
I think u will be able to find it a few months after when the hype dies down and people move on to the next sets, team rocket and gym challenge remakes. 151 you could get upcs for weeks off costco for $80 in julyish.
the stores aren't paying more for the first allocation. next one sure, I hope my store has some in store for loyal customers not flipper /scalpers. That's is how you build relationships.
The store I have has things for loyal customers but you have to buy them 6 months before release when they put the order in. No store should be sitting on a product with the hopes that "Loyal Customers" are going to come in a month after a product release to buy it.
@@ZeroKOR1 no ones going to be sitting on this product. I specifically mean having etb & booster boxes in store on release weekend with limits on purchases so kids can come in and buy one or two. If you have a physical store and no product to sell on release weekend because you already sold it online that is a bad look! Why would I want to come there in when later sets release (with less hype) if I'm conditioned to think " They never have inventory." IMO.
@RickB.rolling because it is a business and you are asking someone to not sell the product to someone who wants it right now instead to hold it for someone who may come in looking for it later. Sorry we will never agree. I run a business not in trading cards but in pools not super similar but from the way you talk you don't run one. Charity is all fine and dandy, but it does not pay the bills. I do feel sorry for the kids. But there are plenty of product out there that doesn't sell out. See it all the time at my local LGS so why should they not sell to who they can when they can. Also, I think my LGS solved that problem. They hold on to some product for prizing so if the kid wants to get a pack or two they could partake in the weekly events at the store. A product like this we may not have prizing haven't talked to them yet about that, but for the booster boxes usually that's how that works.
I appreciate this insight. I like game stores. I like game stores being able to host game times for all sorts of fun things for communities all over, but I like seeing games played in my community. If stores can't survive in these conditions because of distribution making them look like villains that isn't what I want. So Mason, as the end buyer, what exactly is it, that we might be able to do to help YOU? And other shop owners in our local areas with dedicated play space? If we help you, that helps us.
Yeah, I don't think I'll bother tracking any down, and probably won't even open the two ETB's I got from the Pokemon website. I impulse bought a Terestal Festival box from an LGS I stopped by while I was on vacation last week my SAR was the Sandy Shocks that's currently like three bucks. I forgot how much of a buzzkill it is to open a full box at imported prices and have your big hit be worth next to nothing. I can't imagine how much worse it'd feel to open something that's "worth" what these English products are going for and pull that same Sandy Shocks.
I get the situation. People are going to buy over MSRP anyways. But me personally am not willing to pay that much. Ill hope for a restock/reprint. If it never comes, so be it. Theyre just cards
Nah not the case with my local LGS they mark everything pretty much 15-20 percent over market for instance the one piece 09 set just came out market price on release was $140-$160 a booster box they were selling it out the gate at our pre release for $185 and acted like he was doing us a favor since he wanted to go to $200 this is a brand new product they got from distro so not all LGS’s are innocent
I canceled my best buy preorder because i felt like i pre ordered too much oopsie lol i still got plenty coming. Im judt gonna try and trsde sealed for the singles lol
Honestly: blame the people buying the product from day-1 resellers for lack of product available day 1. If people stopped buying product from scalpers, no one would scalp and there would be a ton of stock available for everyone all the time. That being said, PRE is clearly the definition of FOMO, which is weird to me because this set might very well be the worst set in history if the pull rates are as hard as the past 4-5 sets. Also nice hat.
Mason, you should bundle all of the PE products with the shit distributors bundle with the stuff you want. Like make people buy a battle academy with every ETB or a deck with a binder collection. LOL. I made this comment before I got to the part of the video where he mentions the low demand crap he gets forced to buy in bundles.
Edit: Make-A-Wish Foundation has reached out and agreed to let my son sort through CNA Games' bulk for fun! Hopefully he can find one Buddy-Buddy Poffin so he can play Pokemon TCG for the first time. He said his dream card is an Umbreon VMAX CGC 10 Pristine (but he only wants new label)!
MSRP is literally a suggested price. Hence the name Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price. It's a guide at best for what it should be. Like in a RPG, the rules aren't set in stone. They're meant as a starting point and then any good DM will let you play around with pushing the boundaries on them. Concerning the distro thing though, I'm a super small shop with an even smaller budget so when distros start charging more than like $10 more than they originally did, I'm out. I leave it to big fish like you and Rob to eat up that product and hopefully flip it on the secondary market. Having "overly priced" things sitting on my shelves hurts me more than it does you guys. Even listing it online isn't guaranteed to move it in a timely fashion because I'm still very much in the "I gotta ditch this product to get ready for the next product coming up so I can't have my funds tied up into making my shelves looked stock for optics." side of things. It sucks, but it is what it is. Not a knock at you or any of the other big shops, but when this happens, it severely hurts small shops like mine because we simply can't afford the stuff anymore to be able to sell it to make money off of it. (Yes, unicorns exist and sometimes I do gamble on these kinds of products but **very** rarely do I.) And then we also get the secondary repercussions of that with people saying "well, they never have anything in stock that I want because they didn't have 4 boxes of *insert super in demand/expensive product here* so I'm never going back to them again." and we lose customers/business that way. Which again, sucks, but it is what it is. :D
Businesses exist to MAKE MONEY. Scaplers, rippers, streamers, youtubers, resellers, big box stores, local game stores, everyone will have to turn a profit somewhere or the business dies. People whining are just complaining because they cannot buy something before it gains value. If the product stays stagnant and readily available, they would not complaining at all because they wouldn't want it. We are in a different market right now and the interest is high due to new and returning blood, so prices go up because of basic supply and demand. Nothing new here for those that have seen and been through market cycles before.
@RazMors so should supply then.they are in it to make money, they make no extra income from secondary market being over msrp. They bough millenium printers too so its all inhouse now
@@Zlatans they still cant print enough for the demand. US has so many Rip-n-shippers along with normal customers as well as people who are investing buying dozens of cases per set to storage.

I was buying my booster packs a year ago 2.80 - 3 dollars. Now it seems like for in demand product you are paying MSRP or above to fulfill in demand booster packs, while being forced to buy product that does not move. I cannibalize what I can down. It's tough right now and Prismatic Evolutions is going to be a nightmare for anymore price wise. I don't think it will be found on any secondary market for the next 6 plus months for MSRP or under.... it honestly may never hit that low as a specialty set w pack arrangement/cost.
Msrp is 26 dollars. If ppl are paying 60 they're idiots. These will be available at big box stores. All the shops are made because pokemon is cutting their allocations to send more to places like gamestop, Walmart and target. Hence why booster boxes are available there too unlike beforev
@@dukefan1010 yeah I saw that price on pc earlier well try to get them if we can man. Eveyone’s gonna be buying to to rip and flip. I think they will surpass 151 bundles but guess well see.
Already got all my pre-orders in. More than enough. Any product I can find in the wild after release at the big box retailers will be the cherry on top. Sorry, pokemon isn't allocating more for LGS than the big box retailers.
I wanna try to help somebody on here in trying to find this product. I will tell you all from experience you will get lucky finding this product at places totally unexpected.
Tcg shops can do msrp since they get it from a distributor below that no matter of the allocation. It’s funny how some shops attack walmart n target n MAINLY GAMESTOP LOL. When tcg shops are literally like gamestop buy product from customers at low margins n sell high. Not an attack on you just all shops should do better if all shops do msrp it would make secondary market go down. Is like when Costco Sam’s releases products it makes secondary market go down. Tcg LGs shops just got do better n sell msrp
Self fulfilling prophecy. TPC wants products to sell the first time for MSRP. So they are switching from traditional lgs distribution to way higher percent big box. We understand the money side, however LGS put themselves in this situation. The writing has been on the wall for a while. Genuinely no blame given its capitalism but it is what it is.
What you described distributors do by charging more in the second Wave is exactly what LGS should do to not break the trust and the system from TPC. When LGS started charging more for first wave distributors said we had an understanding but now we want in. You are right it's nobody's fault but I think there should be more talk about a legitimate solution. It can't just be one person with distribution it would have to be everybody. It's not as simple as businesses charging what they can. Walmart and Target keep it at the intended price, which is what Pokemon wants.
its been independant game stores that I've bought all my card from for years now at very low prices. $85/booster box for base set scarlet and violet, paldea evolved and obsidian flames. The most I paid in this era is $110/booster box. When demand suddenly spikes, weird things happen. Just be mindful of who does what when prices soar. Reputations are everything. However, pokemon company has been giving more and more of the product to bid retail over local stores. I think they want to shut down the actual tcg in independent stores. its a theory i've thought. crazy, maybe. But I swear it makes some sense! You aren't wrong, they probably do just want the cards to be sold at msrp and no less.
@solemnstar2373 thank you! Haha its really is obvious if I was the Pokemon company I'd almost want to personally remove the LGS charging more than MSRP, it just makes sense, it would be damaging my brand that nowhere ever can you find the price set out by the Pokemon company. From their perspective it's not right
When products are extremely high demand, it’s going to be expensive at first. Just wait for about six months are watch this product drop significantly. This product is extremely over produced, because of the extreme high demand right now. People are going to pay way over retail for this product, because they want to be like everyone else and have and open this product, smart thing to do is step back and watch. When they produce ten times more than all the past products, the value is not going to climb but it will go down eventually.😊
Pokémon Company has so many good sets printing years after years! If customers found the price is way beyond their spending powers then Just Skip It!! Why bother that set and some more how much money can we spend over and over on this cardboard world!? If the store has Great holding powers then let them hold the products! We as customers should plan our money wisely. Overall CASH is the King!! No Money No Love.
The Pokémon hobby just sounds like an absolute Dumpster fire. Love the videos and inside look at a LGS. Shame you have to tell people the most obvious thing. 😊
This makes no sense. Prismatic Evolutions is a specialty set which means its going to be around for a 2 years getting multiple boxes and collection boxes. Without a doubt its going to be MSRP, to say this is just straight nonsense. 151 has had multiple times where you could get products below MSRP. Costco tins / UPC were both below MSRP and both widely available for around 2 months before pokemon craze happened and the result of that is now blooming waters which is going to be a massive reprint. Will it be sold out on release? Yeah no doubt, but a 4 months from now? 8 months from now?
151 has been out for over a year now. Look what that's doing. Back in the day Hidden Fates fell into the same situation Prismatic is in now. I never saw HF on store shelves. Scalpers always snapping up everything in sight the minute the distributor finished stocking. I have no reason to believe Prismatic won't be in the same situation the entire time it's out. Even if they print it into the ground like they did Shining Fates, this is just a way more desirable set that'll keep the scalpers on high alert for it's entire print run.
@@nevercold808 So you just ignored the fact that for 2-3 months straight 151 was widely available to the point where costco was selling the UPC's for $79 each? We going to pretend that didn't happen for literal months? Or the ETB bundle with 2 tins that were everywhere? Yes right now 151 got a lot of crazy hype and the stuff sold out so what? That doesn't change the fact there were MONTHS time periods where you could walk into any costco and pickup 151 without issue. I even saw Target having 8 151 ETBs that sat there for weeks. This happens everytime a release happens its hyped up then the hype dies down. Look at what happened recently with Twilight. Like it's just obvious
The abundance of supply makes the product unattractive to collectors. Collectors only scramble to buy when the price is high. The same behavior can be observed in the stock market. The vast majority of people buy high and sell low. Those who condition themselves to do the opposite make money. Sure, "buy low, sell high" is common sense, but common sense is not so common these days.
Lol.. your hat chats seem often more true and educational than your non hat chats. It will go lower per pack than MSRP, however, it'll be ancillary Costco or Sam's in a year from now like 151 and CZ. Just wait for over a year!!
This the type of GUY who won’t pay an extra $10 for a etb. And when selling for 700 won’t budge $30 for a collector…. The SHIP LEAVING WITH OR WITHOUT YOU…

Ok instead of online let’s live in reality instead like you said. Big box store product gets picked up by resellers before the average collector can find it. Why do you think 151 doesn’t last 30 seconds past the vendor putting it on the shelf? Same thing applies here, it’s not just going to be widely available at big box stores.
@@Praytoarceus good for you, that doesn’t happen to the average person and I can tell you right now at that same Walmart there’s probably zero product, just like mine and a ton of other people’s because people reselling them will beat them to it 99% of the time.

regional differences. You probably live in an area where this is not an issue. On the other hand where I live, the shelves never stopped being cleaned out since 2020. constant. And even for a time they halted putting anything out at all. a very brief time. So for people like me, I have to rely on online only if I want a chance. Thankfully I've been fortunate. And yes its an area of high theft. Can't be helped, and can't blame them for sparsely restocking, and then the same 5 people camp the target restocker, breathing down their neck while they stock the shelves. Its pretty embarrassing.

Mason...so lets say I have $1000...what would you recommend I buy and hold?
Big box stores exist, that's where the bulk of Pokemon sales will be going forward at about MSRP.
No store should be sitting on a product with the hopes that "Loyal Customers" are going to come in a month after a product release to buy it.
ugh you can be loyal to your local lgs's and still be a scalper/flipper
Louisville ky?
Wow! You sound like my coin dealer when silver dropped to $11 an ounce. " I just can’t sell it for that"
Tell em'!! PS. Did you get a new camera?
I appreciate this insight. I like game stores. I like game stores being able to host game times for all sorts of fun things for communities all over, but I like seeing games played in my community. If stores can't survive in these conditions because of distribution making them look like villains that isn't what I want.
So Mason, as the end buyer, what exactly is it, that we might be able to do to help YOU? And other shop owners in our local areas with dedicated play space? If we help you, that helps us.
This is Real Content People
I've been able to pick up at msrp from big box stores
Hey mason I’m in Idaho, we are def fist fighting for prismatic. Targets and Walmarts have no product some dudes scalpin it hard it as it’s stocked.
what do you mean? The set doesn't release until next month.
So true
Yeah, I don't think I'll bother tracking any down, and probably won't even open the two ETB's I got from the Pokemon website.
I impulse bought a Terestal Festival box from an LGS I stopped by while I was on vacation last week my SAR was the Sandy Shocks that's currently like three bucks. I forgot how much of a buzzkill it is to open a full box at imported prices and have your big hit be worth next to nothing. I can't imagine how much worse it'd feel to open something that's "worth" what these English products are going for and pull that same Sandy Shocks.
nothing's going to change, its a problem from top down, distributions scalping, lgs scalping, people reselling because theres money to be made
It's going to be the PS5 all over again. Go to walmart at 6 am, get in the line and hope that you are not behind too many scalpers.
I thought I was good with my 4 PC Prismatic etbs 🤣 should of bought some regular ones when I had the chance.
I get the situation. People are going to buy over MSRP anyways. But me personally am not willing to pay that much. Ill hope for a restock/reprint. If it never comes, so be it. Theyre just cards
i said the same for 151, could never get lucky and find it in real life, had to pay market and wasnt mad.
ARE YOU SURE ABOUT THAT ???? All my pre orders are at msrp.
That would clearly paint him as an even bigger "douchebag", which he is not.
SCALPER!! HOW DARE YOU!!!!! YOU RUINED MY SON'S LAST CHRISTMAS -- HE HAS CANCER!!!!!!!!
I personally prefer scalpers and CNA is maybe my favorite store
Sorry to hear, mason is a kind spirited human and would never intentionally ruin anybody’s Christmas, no matter how much of a boom we are in
Edit: Make-A-Wish Foundation has reached out and agreed to let my son sort through CNA Games' bulk for fun! Hopefully he can find one Buddy-Buddy Poffin so he can play Pokemon TCG for the first time. He said his dream card is an Umbreon VMAX CGC 10 Pristine (but he only wants new label)!
I bet my soul dollar general will have some on sale in next year
MSRP is literally a suggested price.
Great supply and demand discussion! Love the hat to reflect the haters
it will only not be MSRP at LGS's
This
ok cool corporate simp
This x2
Walmart is usually 30% above MSRP.
@@MrAmadeus1998 where? Maybe 10% at most on certain things like sleeved packs but majority is not
It'll be msrp for those lucky enough to hit pokemon center restocks whenever they become available.
Its msrp in the UK and still up for pre order, triple packs, poster collection, binder etc. Dont know why they dont make enough for america
Demand is way higher in America.
For now, we always lag 1-2 months behind America.
Europe still knows how to buy things for enjoyment. America only knows resell flip resell flip America capitalism bby!
Only way to sell products to ignorance
That sucks. Was looking forward to getting some.
It will not be found so easily at retail for retail for all of 2025.
Packs was under valued should of stocked up. Now you know better stock up now cuz they are just going up up up ! Next year be $6 a pack MSRP
Is 60 a booster bundle good? Market price scalping will be insane lol already seems like it.
For what prismatic ? Then hell no
@@Obbss There already selling at 55-60$
Msrp is 26 dollars.
I think they will surpass 151 bundles but guess well see.
how is it not Pokemon's fault when it's literally their product? they're not meeting demand so the secondary market prices skyrocket from scarcity
just gotta be quick on the twitter pokemon stock accounts i managed to score 4 pokemon center etbs and 10 normal etbs at or below msrp
I wonder if a tin foil hat in court would hold up..... lol
Where were all these idiots the last 3 years when no one wanted Pokemon.
Already got all my pre-orders in. More than enough. Any product I can find in the wild after release at the big box retailers will be the cherry on top. Sorry, pokemon isn't allocating more for LGS than the big box retailers.
please post how many of your preorders get canceled also.
I wanna try to help somebody on here in trying to find this product. I will tell you all from experience you will get lucky finding this product at places totally unexpected.
Rip n ship might be part of the problem
You mean them ripping thousands of packs effects the amount of packs available?
tell the distributors to stop holding back inventory
Like he said, it's business. They can do what they want.
Pokemon will take care of it by holding it back from them
People know they can sell it for double the price... only way for pokemon to correct itself is stop buying it... 😂😂 sadly that won't ever happen
@@cognacyang9342 at least giving people a chance at MSRP is the solution. Which is big box at this point
@@ketchemallcards No they won't. 😂
Business is Business. The only people complaining are people that want to invest for cheap and make crazy gains.
Everyone with MSRP preorders should really keep their mouth closed until the product is actually in their hands lol.
Everybody's doing it until it's done.
its been independant game stores that I've bought all my card from for years now at very low prices.
From their perspective it's not right
Is Pokemon a game or a rare Earth mineral??
Not to be taken seriously? But everything you said with the hat on is pretty much 100% certain lol
MSRP everywhere ive talked too and all the places preordering
Pokémon Company has so many good sets printing years after years! If customers found the price is way beyond their spending powers then Just Skip It!! Why bother that set and some more how much money can we spend over and over on this cardboard world!? If the store has Great holding powers then let them hold the products! We as customers should plan our money wisely. Overall CASH is the King!! No Money No Love.
FIRST CNA RULES BABY!
Dont scalp me, bro
So true
YUUUP!!!! Seen it over and over again and again most are new people who want it now no matter what!
I'm one of those who buy as soon as it post at msrp... Ended up getting 60 etbs at Walmart and 45 binders at target
Well that’s a scumbag move.
You never got an order canceled?
Hope they cancel on you lol
I thought Pokémon company was doing fine and had no worries about the economy? Why wouldn’t they just print the set to meet demand?
Print capacity.
Just wait for over a year!!
lol yeah...I'm gonna chill for one whole year to get this product at retail for retail.
I live in poor state KY. I will pay $55-75 & not a dime over as a long term investor/collector but FOMO has driven peeps mad just have patience
This the type of GUY who won’t pay an extra $10 for a etb. And when selling for 700 won’t budge $30 for a collector…. The SHIP LEAVING WITH OR WITHOUT YOU…
@Pokemoncenter-y7p I've had skin in the game since X/Y era.. I'm 100% long term & only sell to my local LGS currently but I got my SS bb for $110 pre order Ebay / SS etb for $55 at Wal-Mart over the weekend 👨🎓

ah no, gotta disagree..it is Pokemon Company's fault in a way..the past speaks for itself, anything Eevees always sells..with the production arsenal they have now, they could've easily prepared for this set with plenty of product. ..glad I stop at end of Sword and Shield..good luck y'all..
the set hasn't even dropped yet. You are counting the eggs before they hatch! We shall see what happens come january 7.

MSRP at big box...
Until you find it al Walmart and target and gamestop and everywhere else that sells pokemon cards. People need to quit living online.
@thedrixperspective I just picked up 5 alakazam boxes from Walmart last week for 25 a piece
@@Praytoarceus good for you, that doesn’t happen to the average person and I can tell you right now at that same Walmart there’s probably zero product, just like mine and a ton of other people’s because people reselling them will beat them to it 99% of the time.
@@thedrixperspective well I've been buying pokemon cards for over 20 years. I know where and when to look. If you're that worries, just go everyday. I have a target Walmart and gamestop all within the same area. If I don't find anything I give it a day or two, then there's more.
regional differences.

You have to make money to get product and have good standing with your distributors. This isnt new to any buisness....you sound bitter and upset that your getting out bid by other more successful card shops lol
