You're simply an artist. I still have one of your first products and I'm very happy to see you're working hard to deliver more and more nice innovative DYI-like solutions. Thank you!
Very nice board. I will wait to buy a Version 2 if these modifications are made: - not so big board (tall) (maybe by removing LCD and SD) - integrate voltage reading -optional jack or screw terminal so the jack does not use up so much space You do great products and hope to buy in the near future in a version 2.😊
Now that iotawatt is stopping production you should start to become one of the dominant players. Your main competitor would be Emporia as it too has 16 channels. Only wish it was more affordable in Australia.
Nice work!! But we need voltage measurements. Preferable 3, for 3 phase systems. Due to time differences (and an extra device) i am afraid that power / pf measurements are incorrect.
So for power (watts) we would need to duplicate the example for each channel like you did in Channel 1 right? Other than that it should be no tuning? What about CT clamps with burden resistors?
Too bad you didn't add the electronics to monitor in real-time the value of line voltage and also the power factor which can make a huge difference between real power consumption vs this estimation
M16 board mainly use for monitor current. there is a way, install a modbus energy meter to detect real time voltage and power factor. so that in ESPHome , just use real time voltage * M16's current = power value.
This module is very suitable for calculating the percentage of load in smart homes. It will help us identify which object is consuming the most energy You have measured the current intensity. To calculate the power consumption, we need to have the voltage, current frequency, and power factor. I'm looking forward to an update from you.

My question was not accurate. Yes after the inverter the current is AC but we can have a positive or negative curent. To know if we inject or buy electricity the measure is absolute or with a sign+- ?
@@sebseb319 this board only use for test AC power, not for DC power. if you want to test DC power, you can chose any our other board, just use by digital input port is ok. then convert your DC power to a TTL level signal or 12V or 0V signal.

FINALLY! an ethernet energy monitor!!!
yes, i prefer wired solution, such as ethernet.

yes, you are right. just maybe need calibration for every channel is better. what's your mean about "What about CT clamps with burden resistors"?
You would need to add AC voltage in, if not we cant measure correct power usage
M16v2 board have AC voltage IN.
Great job, do you have voltage measuremt, to calculate the power factor bettween curent and voltage?
now the V2 PCB under desinging, will include voltage measurement.

Are the 3 analogue inputs suitable for accurate voltage measurements (3phases), or do you need a specialised DAC /power meter chip for that ?
@@gubbernl 3*analog input use for dc 0-5v signal. yes, specialised DAC /power meter chip for that, if want to read ac load's voltage.
this is precisely what i was missing for my home metering :D is there any din rail mountable ct clamp? maybe multi channel?
cheers
board have plastic shell can install to DIN RAIL, CT clamp not need to use DIN RAIL.
Very interesting product
thanks
Where can i find dc ct clamp to monitor my solar string
you can use KinCony MB DC energy meter board. DC load not need CT sensor.
