This band is actually the perfect blend of melodic death, doom and traditional metal. Only a metal illiterate wouldn't be able to enjoy this kind of music and only a troll would call them shitty without arguments whatsoever to back up such a lobotomized opinion.

Absolutely killer album start to finish, loving all the influences I hear.
Been listening to these guys for a long time, and even if they change the flavor a little it always hits the spot.

This is amazing. And to hear that Andy LaRocque has a lot to do with this! I really adore his work in KD and Death. Hooded Menace already had killer guitar tone and sound to begin with but this new touch took it to the new heights. I'm happy that heavy metal scene in Europe and specifically Scandinavia is so great and relatively small therefore collaborations like that could happen.
I already commented on here but I listen to this album 6 times today at work and I love this album the riffs are insane great song writing you guys rule!!
I shall definitely order this CD! This to me is something different and unique. A lot of Death and Doom Metal just sounds the same to me anymore.🔥💀🔥

@O.C.D. Nomad 😈 dude, this band is from Finland not Sweden. Also they play doom/death not black metal and if anything, they're light years away from what's established as Swedish black metal.
Finally, Sweden is not underrated in black metal as it is the second country in Europe in black metal productivity, after Germany and it has some of the most popular black metal bands along with Norway.

Bought the CD, keep listening to it. It's just so, soooooo goood! It's like Amorphis kept their Karelian Isthmus sound but honed it to perfection. This is like a tribute to old Amorphis, Paradise Lost, My Dying Bride, Entombed, and Candlemass, but the guys have their own distinct sound. I thought the previous album was awesome, but this is something else again.
So much early Paradise Lost in this so dam good love to see them support Them too !

Alright I'll be out front, I love metal music, heavy music in general, I am however very specific on what I listen to when it comes to things like death,doom etc, I know what I like. With that being said I have heard of Hooded Menace before, but never gave them a listen, and I kept seeing this album pop up everywhere on best of 21 lists, so I checked it out. And my god what masterful album, one of the greatest death/doom records I've heard recently, guitar tones are masterful reminding me of that old school chuck schuldiner/death sound, and the vocals while not a carbon copy give me classic Mikael Akerfelt opeth vibes, and that is not a bad thing at all. Loved the album front to the back, so much so I'm going to check there other stuff now, will definitely keep it in my rotation 👋🤘

Death / doom is by far not in the genres I prefer. Catacombs Of The Graceless (split EP with Ilsa - 2011) is my personal No.1 song from them, but this album is arguably their best. The W.A.S.P. cover at the end, a really pleasant pick that perfectly fits, and very well performed, fully into the band's style.🤘🏻
