Apparently this was a goods only line that ran up to Lochty (east Fife) from 1898-1964. I remember a railway bridge/viaduct that ran above the Leven Road. Demolished mid 1970's?

Hi I think the line and bridges were built to hold each way traffic but unfortunately due to lack of profit the line only stayed single use with a passing loop over the bridge in case of accidents for access

It's only been a single track line from methil power station until you got to the Cameron station then it went to two lines for a small length

It was the old Kirkland train yard and Sidings and if you head up the steelwork brae the line is still in the road bridge

@@dct1 I would think so. When I made the most recent one on the full length, Network Rail had guys out surveying it, so wanted to get it done before it's cleared. That way we can see the state it was.

@@dct1 Same thing happened when the Victoria Power Station was demolished. I got a lot of people watching it. I also got a copycat making a video on somewhere I did. I would see it as flattery, but the fact he has 1000s of views and I only got 50 kinda bugged me, lol

Just looked it up. Wow. There you go. Always wondered. Knew it couldn't be a distance marker, since they were the same numbers one after the other. Never dawned on me it could be something like a surveying marker.

I traveled all around there when the trains still run up to Lochty, traveled to Lochty a few times. I don't think there will be much left there now after 60 years since it closed, The line starred at East Fife signal box which controlled trains into the branch line and Kirkland yard the under the Baubee bridge to Methil and on to Thornton ,via Buchaven Weymess then Thornton railway station which the golf course now owns ,
