Thanks for the review! I’m going to purchase
Look into putting a piece of hyper vent under your mattress. It provides an air gap for ventilation under your mattress. Keeps condensation and mildew from forming under your mattress. We also run a dehumidifier as well as AC and heat in our rig year round. We keep it set up in a park full time due to covid. This way we can use it all the time and we don’t have to winterize. She’s always stocked and ready to go.
I have heard that, they are expensive, but plan too.
What is Hyper Vent?
Was wondering how a 'bendy mattress' kind of Murphy bed would work with a mattress like this. It's just me, but I think I would add a second latch on the hold up position, because there's a lot more tension on the solo latch with this new thick, and probably heavier mattress.
I was thinking same thing
Exactly the video I was looking for. Thank you.
We put a Zinus 12” hydrid mattress with a 3” cooling gel topper. We are more comfortable in our 5th wheel than at home now.
The only downside is the weight. That sucker is heavy, I had to replace the lifting cylinders under the bed to lift the extra weight.
The best money we’ve spent RVwise.
some reviews say this brand had fiberglass .... have you seen this ?
no, the mattress was great and would do it again for sure
Thanks so much for posting this! I'm trying to figure out what to do about our mattress and I appreciate seeing you actually put it up.
your welcome glad i could help
Who makes a mattress review video that hasn’t even slept on it?
I guess I do, lol, we have the same mattress at home so we know what it feels like.
Also, my stock mattress is designed to fold up to allow the bed to go back into the wall. Does this mattress allow for this?
i have a used trailer with a Murphy bed and i need a mattress .... how has this been ?
You’ve got a rock wood mini
Hey man, so my stock mattress in my 2022 keystone 174 RK unit has a Murphy bed and it has a massive indentation in the middle of it from using it every night. I used a memory foam topper but it still didn’t fix the indentation issue. From your time of use did you have this problem with the new mattress? If you reply no I will go on Amazon and buy it now
no issues with the mattress and denting - it worked really well and even folded up. amzn.to/3yhimmp
Quick question for you. I have the same Murphy bed and the exact same mattress except it is 10 in thick. As for as storing it do you think it will fit ok when folded up?
so mine does fold up easy enough, although I admit it is harder than what came with it. if I did it over I would have done with 6 in instead of 8, 10 will probably be tough to fold up.
It appears that your original mattress wasn't jointed like mine in my Forest River Murphy, was it easy enough to put away during the day other than , as another poster said without adding another latch to secure the back of the sofa piece? Thanks for the video.
i have the same folding stock mattress in my heartland camper - did you ever get this ? and did it work out ok for you? -- thanks, Paul
So how did it Sleepover?? I didn’t see an update video about how it was..
Sleep not sleepover sorry autocorrect
sleep was great - we have since sold that rig and our new rig we did same thing and purchased another mattress off amazon - we love it!
Is that a short queen or full queen you are replacing?
full queen from amazon
So how was the mattress after folding
mattress is still working great even after folded for extended periods of time
How do you like the mattress after sleeping on it?
Hi yeah I like it better than the mattress that came with trailer for sure. It is harder than I am use too and if I slept on it everyday it would probably break in and soften after time. Also I think 8 inches is a little thick because we have to hop up in bed, lol, I would like to try the 6 inch if I could. All in all it is a good mattress and we are pleased.
@@TheBuckStop The thinner the mattress the firmer it is. If you thought 8" was firm, 6" is like a rock. And it's not gonna soften, it will get firmer as the top foam sags. And the thicker version is no better. All memory foam mattresses in general are no good.
@@uhhTabby Seems memory foam mattresses have become very popular
as there are so many companies making them. What do you suggest?
I have the same model trailer he has and I'm wanting to upgrade mine
also.
@@mark98070 it depends on your sleeping position. Memory foam mattresses (medium to medium-firm) are popular for back and stomach sleepers, but not good for side sleepers. If you are a strict side sleeper then get soft, but medium-firm is most popular for combo sleepers. The main issue I have with memory foam is longevity. After a year or 2 they typically develop sagging or dips. That’s why I always recommend a innerspring mattress and you can always add a topper later. Check out Costco because they have free deliver and unlimited time to return (and they pick it up for you)
You need to cut back on the cigarettes
Thanks, I quite many years ago, but I do have a health condition, I do appreciate the advice, smoking will kill
Hi, I have a quick question about the 21BHE, when they say it's a 24 foot trailer are they counting the end of the bumper to the front of the tow hitch? Reason I ask is I am interested in this trailer, but I have a concrete slab in front of my house that the max I can store is 24 feet before the tow hitch would go past the sidewalk.
Yes. From back bumper to tip of hitch is 24 foot.
