In a nutshell: "We are completely clueless and we do not deserve our mechanical engineering degrees, so we should bring other scientists down to our pathetic level in order to beat them". Shame on you!!

the world of F1 does not start and end with Lewis Hamilton or Mercedes as the the English press preaches ,Lewis Hamilton should retire with grace he was the fastest driver But he needs to look at the history of Rossi in Moto gp and not repeat it

Mercedes at it again... "we cant make our car work, lets change the rules so everyone would need to rebuild." Shame, once proud company, now year after year, instead of fixing their car, they only complain.
I would rather see kick sauber or visa cash app as WDC contenders rather than Merc back on top thanks to "fia needs to change rules again, our car is not fast"

@@BasicBodThorMercedes only became a dominant team because they had the V6 Hybrid engine blueprint and entire year before the other teams. Pre 2021 with unlimited spending Mercedes had the best engine by a long shot because of this, then they would spend insane amount of resources to make a pretty good aero package. Since 2016 RB had the best aero and chasis but with a Renault engine they were not able to compete. Now with the engine freeze from 2022-2026 the aero package matters a lot more. Putting two and two together it’s clear why RB is dominating. They’ve always had a better aero package and now when it’s the main difference they are winning

The change from 13 to 18 inch wheels is a massive contribution to the balance as the side wall is not providing the cushioning and the suspension needs to be much more complex

During the race drivers are driving at 75% of the possibilities of the car due to tyre conditions. This is not what (non endurance) racing is all about. BTW: the cars are to big and to heavy (imho)

I believe that the team should have more physical testing pre season not unlimited but a set time and distance that can be done behind closed doors to help even the field.

If you allow testing behind closed doors, the top dogs will never be touched by teams like Alpine, Haas, or Williams. That would open the door for so much more shady maneuvering. Imagine you allow people to test their cars behind closed doors. Now you have redbull making and testing their 2028 car in 2024. You would end up with a team that would be even more dominant than it is now. Or, say it goes the other way. Say Williams spends hundreds of millions making a new car a couple years in advance, one that can once again dominate the pack and bring them back to glory. But 6 months before the race, the FIA changes the entire rule set again, and now they lack the funding and time to make a new vehicle. It's just an entire cluster fuck of a situation to let these shady bastards have any testing time that isn't monitored

Well, that's basically Allison's point. Not every car concept reacts the same way to a specific parameter change. The Mercedes had a great pull-rod rear suspension until the regulation changes. It gave them good downforce at low speed while keeping the drag low at high. With the new focus on the diffusor and the new 18" wheels, you need a much softer rear to get the diffuser at the ideal height. So Mercedes tried it with a pull-rod system in the first season. Which had either horrible downforce or purposed like crazy. So they had to switch to a push-rod for this season as you can't fit a full suspension and chassis and engine enclosure design change within the budget cap and the number of parts being used in the current season. A regulation that would not be so predominantly focused on the diffusor and would allow other parts of the car to contribute to the dirty air problem as well, like the nose and the front wing would enable Mercedes to build a more competitive car without the need of copying the RedBull.

Would all you Brit's be so interested in Mercedes if their drivers now, and the ones that won all those championships for them were from Holland, Italy, etc.? I know I'm probably in the minority, but I've always been more about the cars than the drivers, in all racing series. I was a Lotus fan way before Mario won his championship for them, as any car with a Ford Cosworth was my car. Right now I'm pulling for competition, that is, anyone that can keep up with or beat Red Bull on occasion. That is why I was pulling for Max and RB back before they beat out Mercedes.
Here is for hoping Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, and even Mercedes can give Red Bull a good clean fight for wins, without help from rain, etc.!

Mercedes, here's an answer : raise the car 5 or 10 mm!! Ok, car will be slower but its 100× better for your drivers. You're all about safety first mentioned many times but never do it. Jmo.

It's not that controversial. Focusing on a single element (dirty air) to improve racing without considering other pieces of what can be done to improve following, overtaking etc. is illogical

Yet another video all about Hamilton.
Yes he is a great driver, he dominated for years with help of a superior car but now he is struggling a bit and even being second best to his teammate. I think his talent is starting to fade but what everyone should remember is there are 19 other drivers on the track. It’s not just the Lewis show.

I think Merc underestimated the gravity of their situation back in 2022. Hell, Allison only returned to make the 2024 car. That showed they were desperate for changes and it was a little too late. The dominance point, is kinda on the FIA, Adrian newey is literally the ground effect expert. I belive no other team had a clear view of their potential problems going into these Ground effect cards. Not even joking. Now put it all together and you see that only one team (and a half if you count alpha tauri/RBulls) has full knowledge of the regulations and could anticipate the side effects of the floor aerodinamics.

    • @MrHaggyy
      @MrHaggyy 6 місяців тому

Adrian isn't the only great aerodynamicist in F1. Even Red Bull themself have a view greater minds for aero. Part of the reason why Adrian is the technical director of RB Racing not the head of the aerodynamic departure. But Adrian's deep understanding of what a good aero needs is one great skill he has in managing the development.

RedBull was let down by the Renault engine in 2014 plus Mercedes had a way more superior engine over the rest of the grid. Remembered Williams were on the podium regularly and that shadowed their car’s weaknesses until other engine suppliers caught up with Mercedes.
