Hello and welcome to a brand new Age of Wonders 4 series! The victor of the poll was The Stranger, who has arrived in the Astral Sea to combat Iratus' spreading influence. I tried to include some context during character creation for those unfamiliar with Iratus but if you'd like to jump ahead to when the campaign begins gogogo 13:54. We've met almost everyone in the first episode, so I'm sure lines will be drawn rather quickly. Feel free to let me know what you think of the current modifiers. I hope you're as excited for this series as I am -- thanks for watching! (: The mod that I was using during character creation is Banner Bonanza. It's a great mod, but I turned it off to take no chances.
i like your narrating voice in the videos its calming to listen to i get to watch some super fun role playing and listen to a calming narrator thanks for the vids keep them coming your doing great 👍👍
I appreciate the kind words and suggestion but I currently don't have any plans to make a video like that. Usually, it comes down the enemy's personal resistances, so there's not a universal blueprint, except for unit modifiers and certain unit type weaknesses. If you'd like to get a general idea, the Age of Wonders 4 database is a fantastic resource: minionsart.github.io/aow4db/HTML/FeyUnits.html?type=spring_fairy&
Astral Major Transformation makes your units Ethereal, as Wizard King you can chose not to transform your Lord and make him be the living General of Ghost/Spirit Army. As for unlockable starting weapons, they give unique Hero Skills, that replace your default one: Axe gives Berserk and Steadfast for one turn when low HP, Druid Staff gives Weakening AOE that buffs your Hero, Necromancers Orb gives Rise Dead, that revives undead unit, or rises zombies instead.
Ooo, this would be a good idea! Ironically even though the Stranger recalls ethereal-looking spirits in the cutscene, the heroes of yore take on corporeal forms when you're clearing out the Cemetery. The exact wording is that the Heroes summoned by the Stranger are "returned in their prime", so I thought it would make more sense to angelize them for the Major Transformation. Also immunity to mind control makes the AOW3 player in me obscenely happy. Thanks for the clarification on the Pantheon starting items!
"Lord of Crops" and "Lord of Production" are the worst pick for your faction leader, He is stuck as Capital Governor, but, your Heroes with those titles can be assigned from one city to another, moving food or production to a City that needs it the most.
Try to get him a dragon so you can headcannon him summoning a long dead familiar of his who offered to help him, to either fell Eratus's allies, and then the Supreme Necromancer himself, or die trying.
It could be tricky unless we get super lucky, since I won't be going Chaos for the Infestation clearing upgrade. Or I could always grab a Chaos signature skill and lean further in to " victory for the greater good by any means necessary". XD
@@Fableheim Fair enough, and considering it is Iratus he's planning to kill, I'm pretty sure the people would be willing to need a bit more brutality to not have to fight him and is Bone Daddy's with less numbers
This is the first episode of the Iratus AOW4 playthrough, which was my first run ever: ua-cam.com/video/L3QawvODKk4/v-deo.html I was instinctually used to skipping from Planetfall but I will let her speak henceforth. (:
Hmm, I wouldn't mind if I were a Champion thanks to the +100 gold income but I find gold difficult enough to sustain as Wizard King without the additional penalties. Could still be worth it to have a strong starter army, if that's what you were suggesting.
@@Ericshadowblade Ahh, that makes sense. I think my gold concern as Wizard King is still valid but I'll keep this in the back of my mind for future playthroughs! Maybe the next one will be a Champion.
Rally of the Lieges occurs every 15 years by default. You can spend gold to make it happen sooner and some effects alter hiw long it takes as well. I think your banner lord society trait is one such an effect. Also, the kadt declared you her friend, perhaps you should return the gesture?
I tend not to return declarations of friendship unless the relationship is beginning to deteriorate or I'm loaded with cash. I'm not sure if that's the correct call but I always feel the pressure of gold early on as a Wizard King. >_
Maybe it's cos I'm new here, but I really want too know where you characters come from. Sally whitemane I know, I loved WoW for way longer than I should, but the rest , I just don't know, thinking the justice looked like a M&M card, and skaven appear in Warhammer lore, you gutta help me out hear lol 😅
The Slaaneshi Hobbitses I made up as Barbarian Halflings under Slaanesh's influence. Grey Seer Kritislik was the most powerful leader of the Skaven Grey Seer Clan in Warhammer fantasy and sat on the Council of Thirteen for a millenium. He was so influential that he was considered to speak for the Great Horned Rat, making him the only Skaven to ever have 2 votes on the Council. Up until he was devoured by the Great Horned Rat himself for failing to bring about his Ascendency in to the mortal world. The Justice, The Grand Magister, The Paladin Hero, and The Stranger himself all come the indie game Iratus Lord of the Dead, which is one of my all-time favorite games and one I have made a lot of content for. Their cards are cut from the game's Humanorium, which is an encyclopedia of enemies that you fill out across multiple runs as you slaughter your way to freedom as Iratus.
@@Fableheim Yes ! You can have a Fast Score Victory (100 turns), Normal (150 turns), long (200 turns) or disable it. Right now, this playthrough will end at turn 151 (150 turn + the starting turn) or if you achieved that conquest victory before that
@@myrmyllan2073 Ohhh, thank you for letting me know! I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for that setting. Thankfully, I think things will be basically resolved by then in this particular campaign. (:
nice feudal, overwhelm tactics, strong. That was the combo for my Martial goblins. it is incredibly strong. you just have to let the bloodlust slip in and embrace chaos. Skalds pair really well with that setup.
While I 100% believe you, my current plan is to completely ignore the Chaos and Shadow trees, since my goal is to purge evil. We'll see what happens though. (:
@@Fableheim for sure, for roleplay I totally gwt that. Just commenting on how well mechanically they synergize. Also, great videos. I'd never heard of you before I picked up this game and now I've watched your full iratus playthrough.

Glad you're enjoying! It's been appropriately annoying so far. XD
A Stranger in a strange place is going to bring unity to this land.
Thanks for the storytelling. ^^
Yaaaas! Time to trounce our favorite necromancer!
The Supreme Necromancer himself is not present, but he *is* watching. And scheming. {:
@@Fableheim I see...Well, let's give him a good show!
59:10 No! Nooooo! Order of operations!!! Legion of Zeal _before_ going into the Ancient Wonder, not _after!_
Yeahhhh, that's neither the first nor the last time I'll make that mistake. XD
Divide maps tend to clump empires closer together due to trying to split them between the two haves and the dead zone in the middle
That makes sense! I still feel like I have quite a bit of breathing room and I'll have quite a bit more once Tugrum is purged. (:
Really excited for this new LP series, Iratus can just seat and watch as everything unfolds!

Thanks for watching the Iratus series, and I'm glad the poll choice was in your favor! The Stranger has been a lot of fun to play so far. (:
Missed the chance for:
"My name is 'The'"
"The?"
"Yes, The Stranger."
I would recommend something, but seeing as how I don't play this game I would recommend that you listen to nothing that I say, yes, do that.
1:34:45 That Watchtower would've sped up your scouting in that area.
Leave it to me to spot Watchtowers through the fog of war and completely miss one right on my periphery. >_

Is it even possible to turn score victory off? I thought score victory was a "if no other victory is achieved, this comes in to play" failsafe.
