So glad you enjoyed this, Tamara, and I feel you on avoiding these events due to the overwhelm. You definitely have to have a game plan or you’ll be buried in an endless sea of samples and folding tables! In my experience, coming home and hunkering down with all the “goodies” I’ve gathered makes the whole process worth it 😂

​@@TotallyForkable Hope you return to Eire someday lass, the more Vegan legends visiting the merrier haha, it's mostly decent in Dublin Vegan wise but after visiting the UK a few times(even rural)I can see we've a fair bit of work ahead to catch up to them.🌱🌠🍀

My Mexican side is actually native to SoCal, and we always put black olives in things. 🤷‍♀️ But now that you said you never saw black olives on Mexican food in LA, I think I have noticed that too and now I wonder who the odd one out is! Maybe my grandma picked it up when she lived in Texas? Definitely seems like it fits into Tex Mex more than Baja. Anyway. :) That looked like a lot of fun and super tasty! I was pleasantly surprised with how vegan friendly New England was when I visited. I think San Antonio has like 3 vegan joints? 😭

This is so interesting; thank you for sharing! I definitely think you're onto something with the Tex Mex vs Baja. On the East Coast most Mexican food is Tex Mex style, which would explain the use of black olives. I LOVED the Mexican food in LA and now I realize I likely prefer more of the Baja influence!
