I heard a bunch of stuff fall down into the door. Lock just spins in circles, help.
There is a repair kit to fix the lock. Basically the part of the lock, the long tail and supporting parts like to break and then that happens. Look for door lock repair kit

put the new bits in lock. Now the key shoots lock but immediately re locks it when you take key out.
What torx or key you use to detach the bold of the cylinder?
T25 my torx came out all the way to remove cylinder
My E90 uses a hex bolt not a T25...

You have to remove the whole handle from door. Or remove door actuator an remove lock tumbler
Loads of E60 videos on UA-cam removal of e60 door lock etc.
This isn't the same for the E93, There is no hole access in the door for the convertible version.
Its is basically the same, the hole is just behind a plastic/rubber layer that can be peeled back, it feels like it might not want to be peeled off but its fine it has clips on the back. For anyone else's assistance in future :)
