@Androgenies Thank you! I'll answer all of your questions since you did watch and rate my video, thanks. I changed the pads of the HD660 with Beyer's (DT770M pads) the feel is really nicer. I've burned the headphones for about 50 hours (pink noise, white noise, songs). Several people auditioned the headphones when they were burned for about 30 hours, the sound was really thin. Now they have opened up, I notice a real change, to be honest I'm pleased with their performance...
Oh yeahh.. Nice vid.
Makes it better when you touch all the soft parts. :3
@TheOldSchoolBro As far as I know there're no noise-canceling Superlux phones, these are ok for guitar amp (tested) and can be driven sufficiently loud from a portable devise, note that they are open headphones.
@Youpeaceman I've never tried them with a phone or mp3 player, but had tried them with the onboard soundcard of my laptop, they sounded OK, almost loud enough, but you'll notice a difference when you use an amp with the hd660, IMO not recommended for portable use, although the cable is just the right lenght for that.
@Androgenies OK, I'll keep you posted. I haven't seen any graphs of HD660 either, but I don't think they are like DT770, anyway I think that for the price they sound very good! I also purchased HD668B (you can see the video if you're interested), I haven't had time to properly listen to them, but they sounded more than I'd expect straight out of the box, after burn-in and pads change I think they will be pretty nice too. Thank you for the comments, see you around.
Thanks, I already decided to buy Superlux but different model.
the song is instrumental version of No Recharge - 1997 (the group I'm playing in), if you like the song you can hear it in youtube, and post a comment under it. Thanks for the question.
what pads are you use? Beyerdynamic what model?
yes, they will fit, the cup is almost the same size, if you want you can search for 'rockgrotto superlux hd 660' in google and read the first suggestion, it might help you.
@Chained2Alice I haven't seen any frequency response graphs of the Superlux HD660 but I'm guessing it is somewhat similar to a Beyerdynamic DT770 (which is pretty much the baseline design for the Superlux reverse engineering) so I am really interested with these cans as they are about 1/5 of the price of the AKG K242. Most reviews I've seen for the HD660 are positive so I'm highly considering purchasing this one. Thanks for the vid, Sir.
We have them at Audiohipster currently 24 in stock we have other models not stocked by others. Thanks Audiohipster Studio keeping tape rolling. Doyen
These are very nice cans, we at Audiohipster Recording in the US have the HMD660 with the dynamic mic, and just received the 660, along with the ... HD-662 it is very nice for that fat DT EQ i like it worthy of mod fur sure... { 662F is fantastic for tracking, & those who like it flat, } Steve Rothermel does a fantastic job on mod'ing the HD681... the best i have heard. :~)
ehi.. but this headphones is 150 omhs, so.. if I don't use it with mp3 player or my phone, what's is suitable for it?
the beyer's pads are a perfect fit, but might not be the perfect choice, anyway my hd660 is with DT-880 / 770M soft skin Ear Pads bought from thomann
Hi there! I listen to a lot of power and symphonic metal, so i think i need cans with good mids and controlled bass. Do you think these will be good? Thanks
nice wanted to get one for a long time. awkward to have the cord inside the shirt though. are the ends of the headband metal or plastic?
one more question bro. Will beyer's velour pad fit as well i guess.
Is hd 660's cup dimension very near to dt770/880's?
It looked slightly smaller to me but i don't have them together to compare side by side.
Thanks a lot bro. =)
yes, they are 'full size' cans
sweet looking cans!
Hi! Compared to your AKG K242, does the Superlux HD660 sound better? Or should I say which one do you prefer to listen to? Lastly, by any chance do you have a Beyerdynamic DT770 that you can compare with the Superlux HD660? Does it sound like the DT770? Thanks, man. Sorry for the numerous questions but please try to answer them. Bookmarked this page so I could read your reply. Thanks for the video! :)
@youpreferme If you mean the part where is the 'professional left/right 150 ohm' inscription - it's plastic. If you mean the arches beneath this part - metal.
These look amazing but I cant find where to buy them(I am in the U.S). Any idea?
Does the beyerdynamic pads fit hd660? Or do you find any compatible pads for it?
Overall the 668B are better, but these are closed and can be used for different purposes.
Superlux HD660 or AKG K518 DJ?
I have the HD - 330 you should try that it's semi open back ;)
What's the difference between this and the 681? Is one better than the other? I don't know much about headphones but I want to replace my Skullcandy 2xl with something more comfortable with hopefully a little better sound for around a similar price.
better try hd668b =)
are they good for guitar?
What is the song playing?
IMO AKG k518 are very uncomfortable for a home headphones, but they are awesome as outdoor headphones.
not on mp3 player, they are 150 Ohms.
Not on mp3 player, they are 150 Ohms.
sorry, you can look at thomann, but the shipping is...
I had them. They are not bad but I think Superlux 668B has actually best sound.
... The bass is nice, but if you like more bass I think they will disappoint you. The detail is very good! Compared to the HD242: the first thing is the build quality which is better on HD242, secondly more bass on the AKG, overall I haven't listened to them since the 50th hour of burn-in of the HD660, I haven't got time recently. If you're interested I'll keep you posted. I don't own DT770 so I can't comment on it.
@Chained2Alice One last, please keep me posted after the 50Hr burn-in mark. By the way, I have a Superlux HD661 at hand which I bought a month ago. Took me about 150Hrs burn-in time to really loosen up the whole frequency range. I used pink noise with overlayed frequency sweeps from 10-30KHz in .flac as burn-in. material. Thanks for the reply, Sir. Do keep me posted. Highly considering this as my alternate headphone. :)
accidently deleted the MsWarumono comment, but will answer: Yes the headphones are very good for guitar!
Can any1 review SL HMC 631? Seriously, no review on entire YT.

@danceprojectlyse If you mean are they good for the price, then I'd say they are better.
They might not suit your taste, I can't recommend them for that, maybe HD668b will suit you better.
This or the 668?
660
does these sound better than "average gaming headset"
+TrulleN Yes i have the 330's and they make my bro's siberia v2's sound a bit muddy... same bass but mids are better and highs are better he swares by his siberia v2's but when he listened to my 330's he told me to order him some lol.... Btw the siberia v2's are probably the best cheap gaming headset,,,,
oka y thanks u made me save 40 dollars
I haven't done such a video. Don't worry it's easy.
they look exactly like dt770, the 681 look like akg 240 and the 668 look like an akg and audiotechnica bastard child, the sound is different though
i bought one 3 days ago. This thing sucks. it doesnt fit your head
you're welcome
It's a fake of the Beyerdynamic DT770.
Hd-330 are great.
otherwise thx
*beyer's velour pad will fir as well i guess.*
never heard k518 dj, so can't comment
k518 are good but bassy
buy the real thing 770 pro 80ohm, not these knockoffs
Super lux my ass ,pay a lil more and get decent headphones, not cheap sounding toy like replicas.
They're not bad sounding at all. With an amp, they sound pretty close to the real thing, while costing 8 times less. The build quality is bad tho.
not on mp3 player, they are 150 Ohms.
