I met the music of Dream Theater in 1998-1999... Still had t luck to see a Ibanez JPM 100, like always... In my country (México) was a very expansive instrument... But not at level of Majesty or JP Ernie Ball... Still are a one of my fav guitars of all time alongside Jeff Hanneman, Chris De Garmo, or Kirk Hammett ESP.
I love this vid because it reminds me of the lad that made a vid of this vid when John tells us how he can control the rotation of the earth with his tone dial. \m/
Two of my biggest influences are John Petrucci and Marty Friedman. The beginning of this sounded very Marty-ish to me, from his "Scenes" days. Still, great stuff!
@@IMPULSOESTATICO nah man.. I appreciate what him and his band have done but it's Instagram material. Tim will never be anywhere close to what JP have achieved.
Tim Henson will be way bigger than Petrucci, he's on Wired already that won't happen for John in a million years ua-cam.com/video/ulchAKGi_Y0/v-deo.html personally I prefer John's music way better than Tim, but this guy is going hardcore mainstream.
My guess is that his Hero Steve morse got an Music Man endorsement, thats why he went to Music man aswell. And Music Man is US based. I highly doubt that Ibanez J.Custom guitars are not in the same league as Music Mans.
I have a Japanese Jem and a US JP13 and I think they're both pretty much as perfect as you could make a guitar. Just different design choices between them. I know the Jem is not what he's playing but it's of that level. Imo the flagships guitars from Ibanez and Ernie Ball are of similar levels of quality.
maybe but i rather said 90's petrucci is better than current petrucci. after portnoy leaves the DT, petrucci is not the same as the original version of petrucci. He is sounds just like a robot now, at least for me.

I miss his 90s tone a lot.
Well 90s music is one of the best
Who don't? DT's 90s era was amazing ❤

This is the most cool looking RG Ibanez have ever made
With richie kotzen’s ibanez
Jem
The Rg ART-1 is a similar vibe. I got one and love it.
I've always liked these Ibanez guitars and I still wish he used them instead of Musicman. Nothing against Musicman but I just loved these.

I haven't heard cool tones like that on his majesty guitars.....rg and jems are the best

I thought the same
Mine too
Uauu, we suffer the same illness.
Very beautiful.
Thanks for sharing
I wish he made a whole album like this
These guitars and that tone those Kevin Moore era albums man that era there was no one to match JP and still no one can match that era JP
Yeah, ''Images And Words"" is level of composition and musicianship hard to repeat. Kevin Moore years were the best to DT.
Albums 2 and 3 are the best. Amazing stuff.
Couldn't agree more!! ❤
Very Eric-Johnson-esque ❤
I want that black & white 7-string Picasso sitting in the background. Too bad that one never made it to production :(
So old but great quality

The Best era of Petrucci.
Fender or a Gibson or an Ibanez, whatever…it will always depends on the one who is playing it..
Master
John Petrucci "plays" Bill Frisell ;)
Yeah man, so rare to see JP plays guitar with fingers and no plectrum around.
He nervous for playing guitar without pick & distortion 😆😜✌️...
Playing safe Master 🙌❤️🔥
And he's playing open string improv without thinking of any judgement
I wonder what Ibanez are thinking now of him after he became what he is now!

How I miss that John, dear Lord....
He's still alive, fool
2:43 and justice for all?
First comment.. rare vid
Had to listen to Falling into Infinity after watching this.
I think he forgot his pick 😂
Chopin Classic
Is that a MK IV combo?
Looks like one so yes it is.
Ibanez:)
he could play Squier it'll stil be great
Beautiful. I can not say anything
Man how do you live with yourself :)
12 years old Marty Friedman ?
What episode had JP in it?
Episode n.41 Guitar Masters
Episode of what? Forgive my ignorance.

i would take that multi color guitar and that white seven string over anything that music-man makes or has ever made.
What is that amp? mkII C+ combo?

Татарские мотивы😁
No offense to the current him, but I always preferred the Petrucci of the 90's..

Nice... however...I strongly doubt this piece was improvised. The first part, heavily Frisell influenced.
