I did wish it was a little taller, but for most things it's just fine.

@@rynfilms thank you. Got me one after your review. Actually I got a model without a head. I had befree head at home. The monopod itself is great footage stabilizer. Regarding its height there is always something to put it on. Thanks again.

can you take off the fluid head? I was thinking to add a ball head in between (the monopod and the fluid head) to be able to use it as a shoulder rig

I suggest you watch again as in the video, he very clearly unscrews the head off of the monopod.
