Tomek FM nah who wants to be a millionare is better imo Edit: Well 2 years have passed and i figure i should say i haven nothing against Paul Fadder and this ost is amazing (and at that the 2020 recreation for the usa reboot was fantastic). Its just given the stakes who wants to be a millionaires ost just sits a bit better with me but by all accounts weakest link nailed it to.
I used to watch this show all the time. The Simpsons would usually be on after it then followed by either The Fresh Prince or Robot Wars. Those were the days
Now, thanks to the marvellous invention that is the internet, I can finally put a face on who made one of the most iconic music from my childhood. Thank you Paul for that splendid music !
I love how each tone-up in the question bed represents each portion of the time remaining on the clock : G# : 1 minute A : 30 seconds A# : 15 seconds Great details, sir.
Great soundtrack Paul, one of my favorite from any game show. I believe with the US version, they added the clock ticking sound in with your music as heard here ua-cam.com/video/VJnm43i6Rr4/v-deo.html and some other background effects as well.
OMG I cant believe you are the actual composer. This music is incredible. Last year I used it for a trivia game activity during a christmas dinner with my family, it as epic.
*2002 year.... Russian edition of The Weakest Link... when i heard the Sudden Death Music, my heart is Stopped!!!* *Amazing, relaxing, brilliant music. Paul, you're so talanted man!! Thank you so much for this masterpiece!* *Cheers from Russia. Anton*
Still think the music helped make this show as memorable as it is still today. Still love how the clock music started very ambient with a subtle ticking sound like a pocketwatch, but with every 30 seconds or so, the pitch would shift and another instrument would be added and the ticking is more like that of a grandfather clock. Such an anxiety fueled adrenaline rush to watch back in its hayday.
Im glad i wasnt the only one spooked out by this music. God this music actually made that logo the forefront of my nightmares. Im glad ive been able to rise above it and actually enjoy this now. This show and its ost is really up there with who wants to be a millionaires soundtrack in my eyes.
This is so amazing and in the same time so beatifull and melodious. Thank you for publishing this ! Keep up the great work. Could you publish some music from "Breakaway ?". It's so amazing too
perfect music ever which can fit the games so much(including the timing counter) saddly BBC didn't air the show again Hope one day,BBC would allow you to release an ablum for both UK and US version of all weakest link music (My country(Hong Kong) has bought the show too and call 一筆OUT消 It was an Iconic show and I can't forget that.) I hope oneday one of our TV Boardcast ill decide to do this show again. Paul,May I ask you some question refer to the music? I remember the question bed has some changes when air in UK Version (for Prime time before move the production to pinewood studio) The Intro have three sequel version the question bed on prime time and day time was different too DayTime used around 2000 until at the end of the show but the prime time series has a bit different, the melody was too dry and not smoth, like an bad speaker to play the beautiful music.Luckly when they change. and this is just exist in UK only(not on international, and just exist until they change the player from 8/7 to 9 and move to pinewood studio ) For US the question bed have adding more effects including Vocals,Drums and Clock Ticking. For your opinion which one you think is the best and your favourite question bed and the Intro??? Most of Us want you to upload more sound clip. we wants was the winner announcement BGM and the Sudden Death theme before enter the credits.
I wanted to let you know music you made for both Weakest Link and Buzz! videogames (from which I consider the Buzzes literally outstanding) are what made me kickstart into composing. I wish it was possible to have the latter without in-game sounds and with such quality as these. I bet this ain't happening because of copyright claims. Many thanks and big respect to you mr. Farrer, Filip from Poland
Did you guys know Jane Lynch is now the host on the reboot watched it this week and it was funny with the statements or jokes that she would make and what I did not like though if you remember the question about Heath Ledger she let the contestant get away with giving a partial answer and then changing it Anne Robinson or George Gray would never allow any contestant to get away with that move
Few days ago I discovered an amasing thing, the Russian version of the show with Maria being second in her voice of steel only to Anne herself, has been restarted and she's again the presenter. Now this lockdown is much more bearable hahah
I have a question... Can you tell me what is the software or synthesizer you use for the strings? because l love how sound in "Question bed" and "Sudden death" ❤️
Hi the string sounds are from a few different places. Originally they were from a Peter Siedlaczek sample library (25 years old) but this time I added elements from Spitfire Audio’s BBC Symphony Orchestra sample collection.
This is the original 2000 theme of weakest link (note the extra 2 beats at the start of clock) The penalty shootout is usually known as the head to head and sudden death intro acts like the head to head but is faster.
I remember seeing this show when it first came to North America. It's interesting that they brought Anne Robinson out to California to host it. She did a great job with it, although one year she did land on Mr. Blackwell's worst dressed list. "Here are the eight contestants who will take part in tonight's show. One of them will walk away with up to one million dollars. The rest will leave with nothing, as round by round, they're voted off as..... the Weakest Link".
The weakest link soundtrack sorta reminds me of cube (1997) ost at some point, was this intended or am I having visions? (The walk of shame in particular)
Great music for the great show! Shame, that in Poland (where show was called Najsłabsze Ogniwo) host of the show was very weak, but still this show was AWESOME!!!!!
But in final round has been used the sudden death music, not penalty shootout music, don't k'now why... Penalty shootout music is the best soundtrack from the weakest link and I'm sad that's music was not used in polish version.
Its actually a legit strategy - vote off the stronger link so you are left with the 'less smart' people so you have a higher chance at winning the money.
I have very fond memories of the Mexican version of the show. I was a huge fan of it when I was little. But for some reason listening to this I giggle instead of getting nostalgic.
0:01 Here are the nine contestants preparing for today’s show. One of will be able to win up to £10,000 the others will leave with nothing when voted off as... The Weakest Link!
Possibly one of my favorite soundtracks of all time.
Penalty Shootout is the best one
Tomek FM nah who wants to be a millionare is better imo
Edit: Well 2 years have passed and i figure i should say i haven nothing against Paul Fadder and this ost is amazing (and at that the 2020 recreation for the usa reboot was fantastic). Same here
mine too
i agree
Takes me back to my childhood, early 2000's, winter night and a bit of The weakest link on the old CRT telly :)
Josh Eastham I always used to watch the Weakest Link when they aired it.
Yeah same here. Except that Anne Robinson used to scare me as a little kid
And The Simpsons after that
She's still terrifying now.
I was only like 4, 5 or 6 years old when my dad used to put it on so I didn’t pay much attention to it, now I, 14 I luv it ❤️❤️❤️
I used to watch this show all the time. The Simpsons would usually be on after it then followed by either The Fresh Prince or Robot Wars. Those were the days
The Simpsons is way different to what it was back then
The RedWood Bros I know. I miss The Simpsons on BBC2, since they showed the first 11 series (which was when the show was great)
back in the days when you'd finish watching and then head to your room to play the newly out ps2
Ready steady cook used to be on I thing
buzz it was on before this
Now, thanks to the marvellous invention that is the internet, I can finally put a face on who made one of the most iconic music from my childhood.
Thank you Paul for that splendid music !
I love the question bed music. I could listen to it all day.
I love how each tone-up in the question bed represents each portion of the time remaining on the clock :
G# : 1 minute
A : 30 seconds
A# : 15 seconds
Great details, sir.
*2:26**- **3:53** my soul in musical paradise*
Thank you, Paul
The question bed spontaneously comes to my head amidst the storm of trying to avoid selection for redundancy at work.
Something very ominous about it, gave me chills when I was a kid.
This show & who wants to be a millionaire definitely had the best chilling & suspension sounding scores.
DId anyone else ever notice that the question bed song is at 120 beats per minute which lines up perfectly with the ticking of a clock?
Finally. 17 years after I composed it and someone finally noticed!
Aaron Kwok Yep, I had noticed it. I love this music.
Yep, noticed it years ago. Nice touch by Paul!
Man... lemme tell you something...you just stated an obvious fact xd
Great soundtrack Paul, one of my favorite from any game show. I believe with the US version, they added the clock ticking sound in with your music as heard here ua-cam.com/video/VJnm43i6Rr4/v-deo.html and some other background effects as well.

Ahhh always loved the sound drop from 2:19-2:21 right before the start of the next round! :)
2:40 if you use headphones, you can hear breathing getting heavier and heavier. Great job, Paul!
I love this music thank you so much for uploading!
I love these differents variations on a only 80 seconds round, this mix between UK and USA timers is amazing !
BANK!
:D :D :D :D
Bank!
the walk of shame gives me chills every time
This soundtrack has no right to be as beautiful as it is.
It's funny because 1:48 instantly reminds me of a contestant frantically scrabbling around trying to think of an answer before the clock runs out xD
And then someone shouting "BANK" a good 2-5 seconds late xD
This show needs to come back
it's coming back in the US on NBC, with Jane Lynch as the new host.
Back in the UK now with Romesh. Not quite the same without Anne though
@Paul Farrer I loved your soundtrack , half of the game's success is owed to it.
Still think the music helped make this show as memorable as it is still today. Still love how the clock music started very ambient with a subtle ticking sound like a pocketwatch, but with every 30 seconds or so, the pitch would shift and another instrument would be added and the ticking is more like that of a grandfather clock. I came back to my childhood. I remember I always wanted to do the weakest link at my school... Wow, thanks for that.
I want to do it too!!!! Also I want to make at least one season of MasterChef in my school
We had it in Germany too, called "Der Schwächste fliegt" great fun, but now the show isn't any more on tv. Well done!
Nice compositions, fits great to the drama - music is always a big part of success of TV shows
Anne Robinson and The Price is Right announcer George Gray were the reasons why I love watching The Weakest Link on NBC and in syndication!
Futuristic for its time, you did well for the new "2000" game show
Hello. I have always loved the show and have always wanted it to return. Seeing this makes me feel all nostalgic
wow this makes me think of the mid to late 2000s when i was at a house I cant see these days
thanks for making a theme loved by many (me certainly included)
One of the best soundtracks of anything.
The best game show to ever exist.
I mean, yes, great music, but Golden Balls over on itv was far superior entertainment.
I fully agree!
@@RectorRocks Well hello there Mr. Rector 👋

Thank you so much for the upload.

As a kid this show scared me...as with the music that today would really make u sweat on ur feet as feeling ur heart racing.
Watched it in Australia
Annaliese Wyld happy to be a scary part of your childhood :-)
Paul Farrer thnxs..still love it today, really makes you think that music could be in the next horror theme movie or tv series

Love this music and it's one of my favourite shows of all times! You're great! Greetings from Ukraine
Thanks very much. And hello to my friends in Ukraine!
You are the best Paul!!
Anyone remember watching this before The Simpsons on BBC Two?
where's the time gone, I mean seriously
You ARE the Weakest Link!
Goodbye.

From the future when they brought this show back
This is so amazing and in the same time so beatifull and melodious. Thank you for publishing this ! Keep up the great work. Could you publish some music from "Breakaway ?". It's so amazing too
0:41 I've just noticed the use of one of the same sounds the PS2 uses for it's startup sequence lol
Thanks for posting Paul. Loved the music during the all too short US version. Great music.
Great Music ! Synth Pad textures sounds really good, and a bit like those I can find in my Korg synths (Trinity and Wavestation particularly) 😊🎹🎵
I like very much the mood this musics triggers in me.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I think others should release their music on youtube from this era of tv, it was all fantastic stuff back then
Wait, is the use who uploaded this the actual composer, if so you are really good at creating tension through music.
He is actually.
nice thanks for uploading this :D
The question bed music beat is grouped in 20, which I believe is to check every 10 seconds
I love watching the Weakest Link

Hello, Nick. Jane Lynch did a great job hosting the NBC revival.
She likely let him get away with it because he did not complete his answer before correcting himself.
You are the weakest link, Goodbye!
