It sucks they ended it on that note. Would have been better if Malcom and Rusty embraced and became friends while keeping an “arch” out of genuine passion like it turned out to be the case for most of the characters on the show. Are you kidding me, half these guys could have killed eachother but don’t because they love putting on the charade. It gives them meaning I guess. Lol
"He's not a pedophile. he just has a lot of trauma." Yeah, with removed lines like "Can you keep a secret?" and "Smell that jacket of his." I'm sure that totally wasn't a retcon.
It was spelled out in the show. He grooms boys to be sidekicks because he's coping with the trauma of losing his Jason Todd. It's a riff on early 90s Batman, and Michael Jackson.
75% of his scenes were just him employing common grooming tactics. Do some people really not read capt sunshine as being inappropriate & pedophillic? That's concerning... I hope y'all know who your kids are texting Not sure why they'd retcon anyway, Sgt Hatred had some way less appropriate lines.
@@Applebottompenis the joke is that everyone in universe thinks he's a pedo but all of his grooming behavior is just what batman does to recruit a new robin
@@Applebottompenis As others have said, the joke is that everything he does seems pedophillic but can then have a more innocuous superhero explanation (presumably to, as mentioned, illustrate how... uncomfortable the "kid sidekick" trope kind of is when you think about it). Like how the butler gives Hank the lube, leading to the, ahem, obvious implications only to reveal later it's to prevent painful chafing when going down the little chute to the Sanctum Solaris(?) hidden in the bed.
Hatred, fittingly, hates what the serum turned him into and is actively trying to fight it. He comes off more like someone with a curse than a monster.
I love when the monarch and the kids get along for moments. He was Uncle without even knowing
That ASCII scene was priceless.
2:04 Rusty is literally asking a neurosurgeon boy genius and a computer scientist
More please
More alternative takes are coming this week

I like to think when the boys and their old man get their lives back on track, they can call him uncle Malcolm,

Why does captain sunshine creeps me out more than Sgt hatred? Is it because hatred seems regretful of his past actions?
Sunshine is not an actual pedophile though
Captain Sunshine is a deeply, deeply damaged man. He’s Michael Jackson with superpowers.
