He "gave it to a friend" was his explanation 6-7 months after it went MIA and only because someone kept asking about what happened. It most likely died like all the other stingrays that he has gone through.

I have to warn you that catching stingrays in nets can be a really bad idea because once I did it and its barb got stuck in the net and we had to completely tear apart the net to release it.

I walk around this area ALL the time and I never realized that they were tide pools! Like obviously now I realize it’s so obvious but I just thought of it as rocks with water I always forget that the tide comes up and covers it all. I’m gonna keep a better eye out next time, although I won’t bother them unless they’re dying.
