    Tigers are very different than other big cats, even though tigers population increased in india in recent years but spotting a tiger is difficult, you should have spent at least two days to have positive results. Or gone for smaller reserve where you would have better chance

      We didn’t come to india to see tigers so we’re happy anyway, swing wild elephants. We weren’t even planning on visiting this part of Kerala or any animal reserve. It was a spontaneous decision. Thanks for watching and hope you enjoyed the video 😀

      @@TimezoneJunkies Chance of spotting a tiger is almost zero in these trekking. Even female tigers owns around 20 square km as their territory, the trekking route used is always the same areas and the forest authority will be well aware about the whereabouts of the tiger who owns these areas at any given time. Trekking will only be allowed when they know that the tiger is far away from the trekking route by sightings of that particular tiger in surveillance cameras placed at other parts of it's territory. The same goes to leopard that have around 15 square km as their territory. Continuous trekking through a route also pushes the big cats to leave that area of their territory. So the chances of spotting a Tiger is almost impossible unless some young nomadic Tiger wander into the trekking area unnoticed by the dominant male tiger, female Tiger, Surveillance cameras, birds and monkeys that gives warning calls etc... In which case your guide and accompanying officer is completely caught off guard.

      Thanks for the info 😀🙏🏼 as you can read in our comment above and as we said in the video. The chances of spotting tigers are almost non existent and we knew that when we went on the tours 😊

      @@TimezoneJunkies it's depends upon place and population. Think about a small territory with larger population. So do the research accordingly. I was in kanha national park and saw a tiger within four hours . But it's luck and persistence I guess .

    Seeing animals in their natural habitat makes such a difference. Living where I do and just going to a hike, I see Giraffe, Zebra a number of buck too. much better than a safari park or a zoo, just out in nature. Another good video, I think these last few are your best yet.

    The 2018 census counted 190 tigers in the state. Wayanad had the highest number of tigers, 125. It has been estimated that the population of the big wild feline has increased by 6 per cent over the past five years.While the Periyar Tiger Reserve may have 30 to 35 tigers, Parambikulam is expected to have 25 to 30 tigers. Go and explore Wayanad 😂 you can see a lots of tiger in the road😂

    Tigers nowadays frequently visit the nearby villages in Idukky, Pathanamthitta, Wayanad they also attack the cattles. Even yesterday, a day before tiger was spotted. Caught in CCTV too. But to spot a tiger in wild in Kerala is very difficult as our forests are not suitable for safaris. Tigers mostly hide in deep forests and the ones those attack cattles maybe the older ones as they can't hunt in the wild. You can spot other animals like elephant, gaur, deer, wild pig sometimes bear etc. Leopard attract is frequent in villages these days especially after the covid period. Animal population has increased a lot. We need to protect the wild but also take care of our human population from wild attacks, a cause of concern these days.

  • @TheWroooom
    @TheWroooom 4 місяці тому

    Tigers are there inside. But being a protected forest of about 80km long, 30km wide, with many mountains and grasslands it is difficulty to spot tiger and leopards. Also they don't like humans, so move away from the trekking path. They have great sense of smell and can hear low frequency sounds. So animals know human presence from far away. And importantly trekking is allowed in buffer areas, in core forest no tourism activity is allowed.
