I would ask what is your average run on tires? Are these tires sensitive to heat and cooling? I like the information of these little cars! They look like a handful on such a equal field.
Hey Alan Gee so an average run on a set of tires really depends on how aggressive we have the tire cut. A tire could last one race day or 8. A race day for the Ontario Legends on avrage is 41 laps green flag give or take + practice of you run your race tires or European qualifying if applicable. A feature race all over North America is between 20 amd 50 laps. Cut tires mean that each tire is cut on an angle making one side almost bald and the other thinker. At tracks like Charlotte or Atlanta where there are no concrete walls at the end of the straight-aways they will run uncut tires for rain races on the 1/4 mile oval track. As for are the tires sensitive to heat and cooling the answer would be yes in the warmer weather and when the tracks hot they are much grippier. In the cold whether or when the Trac temperature is cold the tire is harder and has much less grip. They are also sensitive to abuse a tires traction can give up if you get it too hot. This is where tire management and tire pressure come into effect especially on a long run in a race. I hope this answer your question. Thanks for the comment and for watching!
