monster hunter games are the only games that give me the hype feeling. cant wait to play it feb 28th. but i´ll wait in joy and trust them that they deliver us a great experience.
The Black flame is the one i’m looking most forward to, it’s like Capcom were looking into my dreams and made the monster a reality, octopuses are my favorite animals by far and the Black Flame is my dream monster!
The point about lagiacrus is false on 2 counts. Firstly, we know his skeleton is being used for balahara and possibly other monsters, since they confirmed it in interviews that it's the exact same skeleton unlike say almodron in Rise where they cheated and made his legs longer to avoid his core issue. Also, none of that work in World's alpha stage would help in the slightest for this process because this game is not on the same engine. Wilds is RE engine, World was the MT Framework engine, their code is not the same, so it can't be ported like that. They'd have had to start from scratch, again. The issue with lagiacrus was his body dragging on the ground, like a snake, so the game had to calculate all the physics on every contact point to prevent clipping through ledges or slopes. MT Framework was a shit engine anyway, it took them an extra year just to get zorah magdaros's physics to work so you didn't slide off of/fall through it as it moved. This means that one took 2 years, for the section of the team in charge of it. Such a mechanic is older than MH1 and could function on a PS2 so zorah is proof of how ill suited MT Framework truly was for the task. On the other hand, any code that was finished for Rise can be reused. We also don't know how much longer they will use RE engine, before moving on again to a new one. Because of the demand and their own desire for bringing lagiacrus back, since World's development, it's almost a guarantee that he'll be back. It would be a waste not to, at this point. He's 1 of only 2 flagships that didn't return in 5th gen, in one way or another, the other being gammoth. That one is also likely, since the only issue with it was zone size. Her skeleton is basically a popo with a tail on its face and the maps are twice the size of World's maps, It would be easy to make 2 or 3 larger zones for monsters like her in the ice map we haven't seen yet. They stated that zone size was the only thing holder gammoth back. Who knows, they may choose to make a subspecies that's smaller and faster to put it in more maps that wouldn't quite accomidate her like the scarlet forest.. With the implementation of tentacles like this, I hope it's not all just for one monster. I'd love to see a couple more use it this generation. It's a shame if a skeleton is left to gather dust for too long, without more monsters using it. Looking at you, crabs and your almost 19 year hiatus of lacking new members.
