To be fair, "think Yugioh" is a really good and concise way of describing what they did with Maya's character design when she's channeling Mia. It's just useless if you don't know what it's referencing.

@@ThinkingFella Joseph just grasped the games humor and writing and vibed with it. This isnt true for every single person playing this game. So, if you think one person being able to predict the writing of the game makes it "bad writing" then I have incredible news to you, every game has bad writing in that case.
Watching Joe play all these weeb games has given me a newfound appreciation for the idea of "media languages" because so many of the things that shock Joe, I see coming from a mile away. Like, the second I saw that parrot, I knew it was testifying. The second I saw the main antagonist of Danganronpa one's design, I knew she was the main antagonist. My brain is fluent in the language of anime bullshit and I only realized that from watching someone not fluent start speaking it.
