i am a recent forensic science graduate and pls i beg u don’t take this course. this is one of my biggest regrets.
the only career path is to become either a researcher or a asst professor and the pay is MINIMAL. all my prof were my seniors, in a batch of 100 people only 2 got placed as asst prof by the same college they graduated from, and their salary is SAD. it’s roughly around 30k per month( that is vvvv less for someone who has a masters degree)
but if salary is not a problem for u then u can pursue this course

Mam the thing is we know there is job for forensic science students in SFSL and CFSL, but the problem is that some of people working in CFSL and SFSL even don't have the degree of forensic sciences but still working as director in SFSL. I won't disclose the name or the place but the degree they have is msc in zoology still working as a director in SFSL. Students having proper degree are not allowed to do an internship in their state but a non degre holders are placed.
You are so right ,even I have noticed this ,but at the same time there are different sections like biology ,Toxicology, ballistics where people having specializations in respective disciplines or are Research scholars can work there.Also for the post of director, I think one need to either join by clearing Upsc or they are promoted from scientific officer rank by giving exams .

For getting a job in forensic department you don't necessarily need to have a degree in forensic. Doing zoology, botany biochemistry or chemistry is enough

You need to finish your 11th and 12th with Physics, Chemistry, maths or biology.... And then apply for NFAT exam which is the entrance exam for NFSU for Forensic Science.... And then there will be a merit list released based on your 12th result and Entrance exam results... After that you will have to do all the due procedures in documents and fee payment and all that... After that you'll get a seat in NFSU....

Forensic science and Anthropology are different, Forensic Science comes under applied science whereases anthropology is study of humans and comes under life science.

Let me tell u my story of choosing biology in 11th ... I am addicted to Korean dramas so one day I was watching my series last episode there was doctor who was very passionated and very young and dynamic and I thought it's so cool to choose the biology in 11th than I took it after than I realised tooo much competition in India not possible that I was searching I go for agriculture and then biotechnology lot of than one day I found a Thai drama in that main lead was medical examiner ooohho that was more passionated that that Korean doctor so I decide to be a medical examiner because the reason is that Thai drama but I also have interst in crimes so let's do it .... So I am literally confused coz I have decided to apply for forensic science from an University in West Bengal.
But the bsc. Forensic science course is not listed in aicte courses would that be a trouble. Coz I have read in quora that if certain courses are not accredited to aicte it won't be considered valid for neither gov jobs or for private jobs . So can u plz, answer my question

You should go for a PG diploma in Forensics and then you can get into 2nd year MSc Forensic Science through direct lateral entry.

Maam no offence but the difference is that in other courses the 23% who got placed get descent salary or wages but in forensic science the salary is pretty low. I am 2nd year forensic student and I pretty much know the ground reality
