on JackSucksAtGeography we upload a range of easy to watch & sometimes educational geography related content. I have successfully learned all 197 countries and flags of the world. I also look at interesting maps to teach us more about different parts of the world and their culture. On this channel I also play Geoguessr.

Let’s be honest, the easy part about learning the countries of Oceania on Sporcle, is that the islands are all circled.
Omg Seterra supporter?
@@wornyt nope, sporcle
I rather prefer Jetpunk
I never knew his content could be better
Yes
Jack is actually trying to escape learning all capitals
“Anything just to not do the capitals. Even if it means that I have to face my fears and memorize Oceania.”
It's not difficult to learn Capitals of Countries if you know all the countries and u are a history nerd
Well I'm already trying to learn right now I learn like 90% of country capitals
Yeah lmao
sporcle
Guys, did you know the nauru flag represents the star being nauru and the yellow line being the equator
Jack: Write that down, write that down!
thats so crazy elite fifa with a lego pfp
I didn't know that but that's exactly how I remembered it's flag. South of the equator and all. Lmao
And Marshall Islands and Kiribati’s stars are also placed where they are relative to the equator
Learnt that in day one of learning flags
Love your content
Here are some video ideas:
-Draw the world map from memory
Review historical flags
-Learn the capitals
-Learn the countries name in their native language
-Play dictators no peace
- learn asian outlines
good ideas 👍
What's Dictators No Peace?
@@rukminikannan9779 Dictators No Peace is sort of a "grand strategy" game where you play as a certain countryball, and you need to colonize all other countries on Earth to win. You buy stuff like troops, ships, aircraft, etc. using the money made in your country and territories. The game itself explains it better than I can, as it has quite a few things going on, but it's available on Android and iOS for free and on Steam for 99c USD
@Halo good idea 👍

Jack: imagining a van on a shell
Vanuatu flag: literally has a huge yellow V on it
When I was watching Jack coming up with a trick I was just there like “there’s a giant V right there” too 😂
EXACTLY what I was thinking
@votejj I lived in Vanuatu for a year and in school we were taught that’s why the flag has a y shape
@votejj also that the red represents the blood of humanity uniting everyone, the green the lush vegetation of the islands, the black the richness of the soil/ the Color of the Ni-Van people, the shell thing is a boars tusk which symbolises prosperity cause pigs are a sign of wealth and the 2 leaves are namele leaves which signify peace, they also each have 39 leaflets for the 39 original members of the Vanuatu parliament
@@dannyygraf geniualy asking, how do you know all this? Like do you know this type of stuff for every flag or just Vanuatu? Either way, very cool info man!
I think a good way to remember the locations is to divide up the continent between Melanesia, Micronesia (not the country), and Polynesia. Search up for a map of it
Fun Fact: 80% of Jack's audience is waiting for a countries' capitals video.
Yeah true
I’m not actually
@@thatsleepybirb he said 80%
@@caedmonster6336 80% is a majority so i thought id say im not lol but you are right
@@thatsleepybirb oh I see ok
You don’t have to change your ways, but the way I would remember the Vanuatu flag is because the Yellow triangle on the left side of the flag looks like a sideways V. 🇻🇺
and the way I would remember the Marshall Islands flag is because the White Sun in the top left looks a bit like a marshmallow. 🇲🇭 (Marshmallow, Marshall Islands.)
i was confused that he didnt notice that. But there are other flags like that so maybe that is why he didnt do that
@@aidanwhite5631 Or maybe because it could be a Y
@@ambush5616
True, but Vanuatu doesn’t have a Y, so that’s why I said V
I only remember Vanuatu flag coz it’s the flag my grandfather made :)
I also know countries and also
Overseas Territories of other countries in Ocenia like
American Samoa
French Polynesia
Caledonia
Nieu
Cook Islands
North Mariana Islands
Guam
Wallis Futuna
Tokelau
Norfolk island
Capitals of these overseas territories:
American Samoa - Pago Pago
French Polynesia - Papeete
New Caledonia - Noumea
Niue - Alofi
Cook Islands - Avarua
Northern Mariana Islands - Saipan
Guam - Hagatna
Wallisn and Futuna - Mata’utu
Tokelau has no capital.
Norfolk Island - Kingston
Can i just say that the nomics that jack did literally help me do all flags so thanks jack :)
Finally, Oceania gets the video it deserves. Keep up the good work, Jack! 🤣
Hello from Australia jack! This video makes me proud to be Aussie. Also don’t expect all Australians to be like ‘G’day mate’
I am also an Aussie
I love your videos jack keep up the great content!
You can continue this series by learning the non un recognized countries and their flags would be interesting!
I love the background music of every JackSucksAtGeography video its sounds soooooo great
Looks like Jack stuck to his promise and re-did Oceania!
Now you have no option but to learn all the capitals
or learn all the territories of oceania and the Caribbean ones + the flags
"Congrats if you are early and found this comment" 🧨
Melvin.

Yey
Thx
Ok
Hey Jack can you make the geography Reddit videos like atleast 3 weeks between eachother instead of a month? I really like that content!
How to remember Samoa's shape: it's a butterfly who lost its wings (taken from Map Men)
Instead of learning all the capitals, jack should just try and find where every country is
Don’t give him idead
I’ve been waiting for this for 3 months
Finally! Thank you for the video, Jack!
I can’t actually believe there is 26 comments even though this was made like 55 seconds agoAnd I am the 27th one
178th
it’s cause there so many bots
Replies count as comments
Lol
Jack, use jetpunk instead of sporcle as jetpunk is way better
You are absolutely correct. I used jetpunk to learn all of the countries and their flags, and their places. Only downside is that jetpunk doesn't count Palestine as a country.
@@jacoblutjenjack did use jetpunk for learning all usa state flags
yes, new Geography video. love your videos.
You’ve got to make a video of part 2 of these learning the capitals
Easier way to remember Nauru's flag: Nauru is a single island nation. That's why there's only one star, and to show its location below the Equator (the yellow line)
And regarding their history, the reason they can't quite grow anywhere is because 90 percent of the island is covered with phosphate deposits (because of all the seabirds that stopped there before continuing their crossings) that was mined to the point it's non-arable. This phosphate actually made Nauru the richest country in the 80s, but the industry collapsed in 2002, quickly making them one of the poorest and having to rely on Australia who they made an agreement with to get aid in return for housing Australia's asylum seekers in a detention facility.
Ye if u also know that Nauru is like the top 4-5 smallest countries in the world u can easily see its a 1 island nation
That's not actually a shell on the Vanuatu flag, that's a boar's tusk! It symbolizes customs, tradition, and prosperity. It's worn as a pendant by the people there. While the leaves inside it are from the namele (Cycas seemannii), and they represent peace.
Fun fact, when Vanuatu was colonized, it was ruled by the French and the British as a condominium called New Hebrides. Because of this, two communities formed where one is Anglophone while the other is Francophone (a divide that still exists). This also resulted in two different governments to rule their respective communities. A partially elected joint administration became a thing in 1975 until they got their independence in 1980 and they now have a single parliament
The person who made it was actually my grandfather (Richard C Fraser) the symbol is on all his work as the Vanuatian coat of arms was his design
U wrote a whole essay
I always call it toilet paper
@@homeschoolingautism2485 wow
1:56:
Jack: So the way I'm gonna remember Vanuatu is....
Me: The flag has a V for Vanuatu on it?
Jack: That shell is now a round road and there's a van on it that's delivering Xboxs hence the X!
Me: ........
And the top group of islands also forms a V shape! (Albeit one with some holes for the ocean.)

Love the videos, Jack. Keep it up!!!
Jack, if capital cities is hard, do each continent one at a time like with the countries after the first attempt then when you’ve done all continents do the entire world
Jack uses the most complicated rules possible to memorize those flags, really
As long as it works it’s fine
Hi jack, I love your content, you got me really into geography and Now I know all 197 country’s and all 197 flags and all USA states all England county’s, and now I know all capital city’s except most in Africa
Hey jack has also got me really into geography and I would love to start learning more but have no clue where to start do you have any tips
@@Styxiaa well first make sure you have all country names memorised and then try flags or locations (except Caribbean and Pacific Islands) and then maybe shapes (except Caribbean and Pacific Islands) and then try adding in the Caribbean and Pacific Islands and then try capitals after that (for Africa I have a comment on Jack’s “Which African Country is This?” video- just look for a comment from Solar Glyph)? That is just my suggestion and pretty much how I have learned all that in that order!
Better than jack ever will be
@@Styxiaa well uh if your learning something like country’s in a specific continent, try name the most you can, then pick some that you missed, minimum about 3, max about 6, and repeat them to yourself and restart the continent and put them in first, keep repeating until you get a lot, take about a full days break and see if you remember them, for flags, come up with some weird rules to remember them, like how jack does it, I’ve learned all flags purely from using jacks rules
Tripoli is the capital of Libya.
Algiers is the capital of Algeria.
Cairo is the capital of Egypt.
That’s to name a few.
Finally, we’ve been waiting for this!
Congrats on 835.000k Subs
Jack, you don't need to remember how to spell Papua New Guinea. You can just put PNG and it goes through. Also, you don't need to know how to spell Republic of the Congo, you can just do repcongo and It goes through.
can you do DRC?
There's actuaally a less meaner way to remember the flag of Nauru. Nauru on a map is right below the Equator, so the yellow line mens the Equator, the blue color means the pacific ocean and the star means Nauru
Ps that's actually the meaning of the flag
👏👏👏
That's a really cool way to remember that
Finally!!! Love your vids by the way
Finally Video about Oceania

he's a fan of the country" -999999999 Social credit
Great video jack! Love from Georgia 🇬🇪
ok
yaaayyyy!!!! A video, with at least one map with New Zealand on it
Nice love the content
Finallyyyyyyyyyyyyy!!!!
Well done Jack, now all u need to do is learn all the capital cities
For Marshall islands, I remember it because marshall sounds like she’ll because “mar*shall*” and the flag kinda looks like the Seychelles cheap version flag and the little sun is like an island since when you think of island it’s usually a bright sunny day
One of the islands in the Marshall Islands is Bikini Atoll, which is what Bikini Bottom is based on. The orange stripe is like a pineapple, the blue part on top is the sea. Who lives in a pineapple under the sea?
The white stripe and bottom blue part is Goo Lagoon.
I guess the star could represent an atom bomb?
Thank you so much for making this video
It feels good, when Jack makes a video specifically for your country
Thanks Jack! I've tried learning names and flags of Oceania, because it was the only continent, that I couldn't learn, but finally after your video I tried angain and now I know all world's flags and names. Thanks again Jack, your videos are inspiring!
Fun fact: the first country to change the year (y'know 2022 into 2023 thing) is tonga, so saying its tonga time means its the future
Somehow i learn more from watching jack's videos than in my geography lessons in school
Love your content favourite youtuber!
Jack keeps trying so hard to put off learning all of the capital cities 💀
Jack you are literally one of the people who taught me and inspired me to learn geogrpahy, politics, Geopolitics, history but now I'm better than you at all the categories lol

Hi Jack just wondering if you have any tips on learning all the flags of the world?
Hello. I am a person of Oceania lmao. (I’m from the federated states of Micronesia). A lot of people see mostly ocean and they think its hard. Personally, I think its easier. Since I know the shape of the island and what island is next to what, I’m able to tell what island is where, I don’t really need labels if I know this. But like trying to guess where cities are on a big landmass with no labels? That’s hard and we need labels to see where the cities (and countries) divide.
How I learned to find oceania easy was basing it partially around Kiribati because they are huge (and Tuvalu and Nauru were pretty hard)
I have been waiting for this video since 2019
You have an awesome job and your family
Here are a couple of video ideas that you could do in the future:
•Capitals (I have learnt all the capital's in the world while being 16yrs younger than you
• Us states location and maybe their capital's
• City guesser you haven't played that in a while been two years

The group of 4 stars in most flags here represents the southern cross constellation. Countries like Australia and Papua New Guinea have more than 4 but you can recognise the main 4 in amongst them. New Zealand and Micronesia only have the 4 stars. Another instance of the others having an additional star is probably due to beliefs (believing there is another star)
The easiest part of learning Oceania is that it’s only has like 14 countries but like Africa it has like 40. Lol
I ♥️ how you put Australia on the thumbnail as the spotlight.
I'm looking forward to the next Reddit reaction a little more every day!
Hi Jackington, You show learn either the names of all the languages or all countries in the common wealth
im enjoy from your videos
Finalllyy im from oceania and barely see u Do any oceania dedicated vids (I from australia but my parents are from samoa)
When does merch come out
I live in Oceania. Finally you made video about it
Great vid
i think vanuatu is the most obscure flag of oceania because when i tried alot of times until i named all of them vanuatu was one of the final ones
Oceania has to be the hardest region to learn! So many small nations
Africa: Am i a joke to you?
2 MINS AGO? great video btw
So glad I stayed up till 12 in the morning for this, good vid Jack
Now you have to do all the capitals, come on Jack, DO THE CAPITALS!!!
Yes jack, DO THE CAPITALS VIDEO
As a subscriber I demand that lol
DO CAPITALS
Jack it’s obvious a way to make Sri Lanka capital easier is that Sri is at the start of the country and the capital (a tip for learning all capitals so you have a higher chance of doing it)
Do top 10 flags video
I searched up the flag quiz and it instantly came up with ur UA-cam channel
Hi jack, video idea: go on a only Oceania geogussr!
You should try finding all 197 countries
Suggestion Jack do the 3 second flag challenge plz
Can you try to learn all the dependant territories
Kinda hard to tell, but it looks like the Kiribati map at 8:05 perhaps only showed the Western most island group of Kiribati, the Gilbert Islands. Whereas it in reality also has two separate island groups to the east, Phoenix Islands and Line Islands. But I get it's hard to show the entire nation in one picture when the islands are so small and spread out.
1:25 Vanuatu 🇻🇺 I remember that strange circle thing 🤣
EDIT: it's amazing to see that Jack remembers it like me too
Fun fact: did you know the grass skirts are not really Hawaiian? A lot of people think of grass skirts when they think of Hawaii. They were actually introduced into Hawaii by the people of Kiribati🇰🇮 who were brought to Hawaii to work in the sugarcane plantations. Oh yeah and pineapples are not Hawaiian either.
Jack,which app do you use?
