Now this is something MJ should take personally
"I took that personally. So I traded away all my firsts to contend next year and prove him wrong."
@@DANtheMANofSIPA I took that personally, so i traded away my entire team and brought back the 96 bulls to prove everyone wrong
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
This is the funniest thing anyone could've said
@@chickenmerchant3719 I took that personally so I took the court and decimated everyone else on the court till jerry stackhouse and kwame brown cried wolf.
Danny ainge should thank the hornets for saving his legacy as a GM.
I know we havent had sports but are legacys still tied to team success? I thought he won a title before the Hornets turned down that trade my fault lol
Nah, even though he kept the picks, what was he gonna do with them?
Yeah he was gonna draft stanley Johnson of all people
I think that’s more so the Brooklyn Nets
Lee tbh it could’ve been a lie to take attention away from another prospect he wanted
“BUT WAIT, IT SOMEHOW GETS WORSE”
The best part 😂😂
"But wait, it somehow gets much worse."
story of my life
Michael Jordan is the Michael Jordan of not being able to evaluate talent
MJ’s problem is that he keeps drafting big players close to him in size and skill, even though:
1. MJ himself is a one of a kind player that hasn’t existed before or since.
2. And more importantly, players being able to shoot and space has become much more important to a team’s success over the past decade or two.
@@Yeen125 your exactly right I think cause hes so great he evaluates them on his greatness level which is bad
MJ drafts off name value, hrs looking for a guy coming in with hype and that has talent.
“ I could get a walk on offer from the hornets they need me” - Flight Reacts 2020
Out of all the things Flight has said over the years, this is one of the few that I agree with.
nfjshd ududbwjd fax
you know it’s bad when flight reacts wanted a walk on.... mind you he said that BEFORE june hit lol
Who couldnt tbh. They had 7 Wind one season. I mean at worst you will get 0 which is 7 wins less
I really want the hornets to be good so we can see their Jerseys more cause them joints clean
Tbh it’s only their retros the regular jerseys are kind of trash
mrslash blade true but them retros stil go hard🔥

MJ might be a great NBA player, but he’s a terrible, terrible NBA owner.
Which considering he spent most of his playing talking crap about how Jerry Krause ran the Bulls, I've always found this hilariously ironic.
Derek Johns It shows that being an NBA executive is difficult and takes entirely different skills and knowledge to be successful.
Hell, even Phil Jackson, one of the greatest NBA coaches of all time with the Bulls and Lakers, had a disastrous reign as an executive with the Knicks.
To be fair. Rich Cho made a lot of those bad draft picks after Kemba Walker. Malik Monk, Devante Graham, Miles Bridges, PJ Washington and Dwayne Bacon were all good recent picks.
Derek Johns he didn’t know how hard it was. 😂
There is no perfect human.
This is the common sense.
Being from South Carolina, I'm just glad this franchise was pathetic enough for me to not be coerced into rooting for them.
I live in SC and I've only met a few fans at most
afrolefty Let’s go SC gang. The same is for me I became a Rockets fan and never got close to touching the Hornets.
South Carolina is the basis of Live PD on UA-cam. A trash state full of criminals and drug addicts.
I live in NC and root for the Grizzlies
I'm convinced that all current Charlotte Hornets fans are really fans of their real team, now based in New Orleans, but treat their expansion team as if it is the old team's history. Think about this, if it were modern day, Larry Johnson and Alonzo would be Pellicans.
Yo it’s funny I can go from like the podcast and LOW being energetic af then I go here and he’s calm cool and collected. Shit like day n nite
Drinking game in this series from LOW: take a shot every time he says " but wait... It gets worse"

That’s tuff...
It gotta be
Cocaine is a helluva drug
Adam Morrison sounds like a name that a country singer on American Idol would have tbh
He looks like one too
Didn't he get in trouble for smoking weed during his career? I thought for sure that was one of the reasons he was outta the league. I am high though so I could just be imagining that.
@@forcingfate I smoked weed during my career and lasted 17 seasons
@@dv9691 you also had talent. Adam wasn't going to be protected like players of zbo's caliber.

The Starting Lineup the Hornets could’ve had today🤦🏾♂️:

6th Man: Shai Gilgourous-Alexander
*Bogdan not Bojan
Shai would start over tobias

Ernest Thompson Not a chance. Also bogdan is a sg not a pf
Being a Hornets fan, I had to stop watching this video halfway through just because I was getting so pissed off at our management.
“Even if someone wants to give me first round picks, what am I going to do with them?”
🤦🏾♂️
And here I thought Billy King was incompetent.
Maybe trade them for a young franchise star so you wouldn’t have to worry about “roster crunch” or trade them for an even higher draft pick!
But hey this guy is a top executive for an NBA franchise and we just random fans, so he clearly knows more than us on what you should do if you offered several future 1st round picks...🤦🏼♂️
Good analysis on the Morrison and Augustin picks. I was so ticked when Lopez dropped in their lap and they passed on him. Ajinca didn't even start in France. After the draft, I looked up his stats thinking he must have dominated in France. He sucked. I would have fired every person responsible for drafting him.
Lol, the best Hornets pick in the last 5 years was Devonte Graham in the 2nd round
Lol, nah, Miles and PJ are better
Malik Monk has talent but got suspended for smoking weed. Hope he comes back.
Love of Mangos he got suspended for cocaine
@@loveofmangos6112 crack cocaine*
Tyler Amato Devonte was better value because he was (I think) the 42nd overall pick but Miles and Washington are better players and prospects
13:00 Frank Kaminsky actually can space the floor
Fr, that’s what I was thinking
Shayan MB he can now but he was disappointing with the log jam they had at the time in Charlotte
Spacing like he provides is only for good teams he’s not 16 Kyle korver where he just forces you to keep a eye out he’s good enough for a team with a bron or Brodie somebody that actually creates space but he doesn’t himself he just can punish you for it
He can. But that wasn't nearly enough.
Yea that was a terrible pick.
As a Hornets fan, this video touches my soul on every level.
Me too bro
lol in 2012 they passed on Lillard too!
A lot of teams did because of his college
8:49 Michael kidd-gilcridge

Shai Gilbert Alexander tooo

Boy that shit is killing me. 🥴🤢
He doesn't deserve to have his name pronounced correctly.
Take a shot every time he says “it gets worse” and “space out the floor”
Thank you for pointing all of this out. That management basically wasted all their chances to have a good team at least... Makes my blood boil (especially turning down all those picks from Boston).... 😡😤
Wish he mentioned letting larry brown go and giving up tyson chandler for nothing plus losing felton for nothing as well all in the same year basically...not to mention giving up on the veterans on the team on the bench from that 2010-2011 team and going young instead.... horrible choices
I do think development is important to though. I think some of these guys on a different team would have been better. Whether its MKG, or Adam Morrison etc.
Formative years wasted, bad habits reinforced. Training staff, coaching etc. can mean a lot.
True they didn't get a transcendent player who comes in the league and is already a clear top 20 player. Though even if they luck out and land someone like that, they're gonna walk with this lack of player development surrounding them.
Anthony Davis, Beal,Tobias Harris, Devin Booker, Giannis, Jason Tatum. Wow what could have been lol thank God I'm not a Hornets fan 😆
Troy Stephens yeah it’s definitely not fun being one smh lol and this video doesn’t help
And Donovan Mitchell
AD couldn't have happened cause they lost the lottery (in highly suspect fashion mind you), and I don't put much on people passing on Giannis cause he was a literal 5-year project, but yeah they should have come away with at least Harris and one of Beal or Booker
i actually somewhat agree with the shai trade. we got miles and a second round pick that ended up being devonte graham, who very well could be an all star. so they traded an all star for a solid starter and an all star, makes sense now.
Devonte ain’t an Allstar, but I can kinda see where ur coming from. Still a bad trade
Miles is the better long-term talent. The one with real all-star potential. Graham looks to be a great starting-caliber 6th man.
@@AfricanThinker86 And Devonte is gone
Thank you for this video, I'm hype to start blogging about the Hornets and how they can improve ASAP!!!

I’m a NC native and lifetime Hornets fan. I put a lot of fault on MJ, but any team would have picked Morrison at that spot. He was a scoring machine in college
He couldn’t create on his own, they should’ve took an athletic Rudy Gay

@@derrickctv1820 He was still a good player before injury. It wasn't as bad a pick as people make it out to be now.
The Hornets have done one good thing in their history- make good jerseys but even then their jerseys before were ugly
My favourite series on this channel. It honestly should be titled Things that keeping getting worse or Deals getting worse all the time. 😊
Yo agent second channel, AMP, the pod and now this
These are always dope, I love the retrospective point of view because I go back to see if I was right or wrong about these picks but we all can agree that NBA front offices have a bunch of Hams making decisions.
"Michael Kidd GilCridge"
Love the vids man, you deserve more than 2 hundred k subs, I look forward to the pod, and can you go over the timeline of the bulls and see what they done wrong and right
The Morrison pick wasn't bad. He was looking pretty good at the end of his rookie season, but suffered a catastrophic knee injury before the start of his 2nd season which never healed properly, which pretty much ended his career. The AD thing still is painful because instead of having a Kemba/AD duo, the league which owned the Pelicans, just magically happened to get a generational talent by winning the lottery.
Yeah that draft was set-up
@@erickennedy9388 Yep, first they stole our team, then they stole our #1 pick, then they stole the all-star game. not a huge fan of the Pelicans
This series of videos should deffo be called 2020 Hindsight. Great work man, great video idea - loving the whole lot of wasted Draft Class videos you've done - maybe a series of SUCCESSFUL drafting teams next? I look forward to it
So when people like chuck call out mj on the way he has ran the team, and mj cuts people off. Talk about a fragile ego
My man put in work for this video! Great job, u got a new subscriber
I think you should mention the fact that the 7 win season was in a shortened season
That’s true but they also lost like 50 some games or something so that’s still extremely bad
I mean although he shouldn't have been picked that high but Frank Kaminsky can kinda space the floor
Congrats on 200k and 10k love the content been here for a while now. Keep up the good content
Watching this as a Hornets fan makes me realize how bad our GM is
And how bad MJ is as an owner
Only reason people focus on MJ as an owner is because he's MJ. Most owners hire a GM and it's on the GM to run basketball operations. Yes MJ picked some bad GM's so I guess it's his fault lol.
@@benjaminedmundson1704 Yes that's very true but at least other owners attempt to compete
@@jameshendricks6738 it's all about talent. Sometimes it's pure luck. Things could be a whole lot worse. We could have James Dolan (knicks owner) team has been horrible for 20 plus years.
@@benjaminedmundson1704 somehow u ppl found a way to insert james dolans name in a video that he has nothing to do with
Gotta love being a hornets fan😭
The streak was broken with Lamelo
Now there’s finally hope in Charlotte again
No, it was broken when Mitch got to Charlotte. Even Ball was a Mitch guy. He scouted him the entire summer overseas.
this one of the first videos I’ve seen in my recommended from u in a while I can’t lie
This hurts my soul as a Hornets fan 😔
Me too, it's okay bro. Maybe we'll get another playoff run in the next 5 years 🤷🏾♂️... Expectations so low are just embarrassing 😪
Pretty spot on, I’m a hornets fan. One thing you did miss out on was what came with the Miles Bridges trade, we ended up getting Devonte Graham with that 2nd rounder we pocketed. I loved Kemba, but Rozier has panned out as well. Excited for our future, hope we can trade for a center
2:03 oh man the frames
i thought those were photos being taken lmao
“Even if someone wants to give me first round picks, what am I going to do with them” - This man had to have been fired just for that statement
Oh boy! You’re in luck
Well it looks like Miles Bridges has All Star potentioal now, and Terry Rozier was better than Kemba Walker. Plus they drafted Ball and sign Hayward, the Hornets are trending upward finally.
There is a misconception about the Boston's offer to the Hornets regarding the future picks from Brooklyn - at the time the Celtics only owned the Nets' 2016 (used to select Jaylen Brown) and 2018 (used in the Kyrie Irving trade and with it the Cavs select Colin Sexton) picks. The 2017 pick with which Boston traded to Philadelphia was a pick swap since a team cannot give up two consecutive draft picks outright (also known as the Stepien rule). The Nets received the 27th pick, which was used in the D'Angelo Russell trade and with it the Lakers got Kyle Kuzma. But wait there's more - the pick Boston got from Philadelphia was in fact a pick from the Sacramento Kings, who had a pick swap option that the Sixers invoked (it was the 5th pick and with it the Kings used it on DeAaron Fox).
So, in summary here's a breakdown of how the 2017 picks changed teams before or during the draft:
No.1 Nets->Celtics->Sixers
No.3 Kings->Sixers-> Celtics
No.5 Sixers->Kings
No.27 Celtics->Nets->Lakers
I'm a simple man, I see someone put respect on Jared Dudley's name, I click like
Jared dootiely
“Even if someone wants to give me first round picks, what am I going to do with them?” - an actual quote from an actual NBA executive. Holy shit.
Bruh I saw you cheat Agent in the AMP video 😂😂😂
Being born and raised in Charlotte this might be the most painful UA-cam video I've ever seen.
I would say they hit on Kemba but they never put anything around him
And then tried playing him for a chump in free agency
They tried to put talent around Kemba. Lance Stevenson didn't work out, Al Jefferson was a 20 and 10 player but Kemba peaked as Al was declining. We went out and got Dwight Howard.. Nic Batum didn't show up after getting paid. So it's easy to say the organization didn't put talent around Kemba but things just did work out. The Batum contract is the reason we couldn't offer Kemba more without going into the luxury tax.. sad.
Benjamin Edmundson I only agree with 1 of the players that honestly didn’t work out with the Hornets. Honestly one Charlottes problems is over paying y’all shouldn’t of gave Nic Batum that much money you shouldn’t of gave terry rosier that much money either. The only thing I can say with terry rozier tho is that he is good just not as much you paid him. Also the hornets were shit at draft picks this last decade it one thing to pick a 1st rounder and doesn’t end up doing to well but the hornets took it further by drafting people with the same position and didn’t help their issue with spacing. I also feel like development comes into play I don’t think they help there draft picks get better. I hope Charlotte gets better I want the organization to do good
Bro you make me want to watch the nba when it comes back i love your video brodie
Can you do the pelicans next? I want to know why we made the playoffs only 2 times with ad as our best player during his time there
i think that the pelicans can surely turn things around with the likes of lonzo and zion. they need to wait for them to develop and they will become a playoff team. also get a better coach who can gameplan well
I aint even watch the video yet but damn dude you aint gotta call out my team like that lmaooo
If the NBA wasn't blatantly rigged we would have AD and Kemba Walker. In no parallel universe should a 7-59 team not have the first pick
Looks like tanking dosent work
Wait they weren’t taking
Well looks like being trash dosent work
in 2012 Lottery, as worst team, Charlotte has 25% chance of 1st pick....
That means, statistically speaking, there's 75% chance it don't get the 1st pick....
Even if you had them management wouldn't be able to build a good team around them to compete
David Stern gave New Orleans the pick so the NBA could sell the Hornets. Which is also why Chris Paul didn't go to the Lakers and with AD they sold the Hornets shortly afterward.
@@loveofmangos6112 Nba is most definitely rigged and this is a great example thank you
lamelo and the hornets/bobcats show that tanking works, he was their highest pick in a long time and they got a player who shouldn’t have been there
Omg you were so wrong on Miles Bridges hahaha. And you were wrong about Kemba Walker.
MILES BRIDGES AND TERRY ROZIER HAS MADE A TON OF SENSE
And now we have been hitting on all our picks turns out when you have a good gm it makes a difference
This whole video just makes me sad
Bro Agent and Low vs Flight and Davis would be 🔥
Miles Bridges & Terry Rozier are very good players. Hornets W

Dang. 200K. Congratz man!
Who is here after the The Hornets took LeMelo Ball
and have below average players all around lemelo
Congrats on the 200,000 subs
Kings might be even worse
During their final college seasons, Morrison and Reddick were head to head in terms of who was the best college player. When you see the distance between Morrison picked at 3 and Reddick picked at 11, it's crazy. And...Reddick is still in the league averaging almost 15 ppg in New Orleans, at the age of 35.
Devonte' graham is a good player though
Truth
I agree with you that “small market teams are at a disadvantage” is BS. Any team can be a contender by drafting well, making good trades and surrounding their best players with the right role players.
Realistically Charlotte could had a starting lineup of:
PG:Kemba Walker (7th pick)
SG:Bradley Beal (2nd pick)
SF:Giannis (4th pick)
PF:Draymond Green (32 pick)
C: Al Jefferson
stuff like giannis and draymond is hella hard to predict
As a Charlotte native watching the hornets draft is like always getting a chicken box but only eating the coleslaw that comes with it. Every year
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😡😂😂😂😂😂 and then dropping the chicken only to see a opossum enjoy it then hearing the millionth customer alarm go off and see your vegan neighbor win 1million dollars and Bojangles for life only to donate it to Greensboro Day School
In 2014-15, they had Marvin Williams, one of the best frontcourt floor spacers. Frank Kaminsky was very much expected to be a floor spacer. He hot 42% from 3 during his senior season. They had just signed Lance Stephenson, who was expected to take over the 2 spot and who was expected to evolve into a star. Also, you don't know what negligible means.
Hmmmm how's Miles Bridges and Terry Rozeir working out now! Those were good moves. I totally agree with you on the Rich Cho years, but Mitch Kupcheck has done a great job rebuilding this team.
This comment aged poorly lol
Great video!! Very true at the end, I do think small market teams have it a bit harder, but there is no denying a team like Charlotte has wigged at almost every turn
my bro you've been long overdue 200k, congratulations!!!
I’m a Charlotte sports fan, it’s a tough life. Nice video though bro, dropped a sub.
This is one of the hardest videos on UA-cam to watch for me as a hornets fan
I'm watching after the 2021 draft and as a Hornets fan I have to say that in hindsight the decision to let Kemba walk was right the move. I also believe Miles Bridges has great potential and he has become a leader on the team. The new regime of James Borrego and Mitch Kupchak have drafted well and continue to do so with the additions of Bouknight and Kai Jones. I foresee our time as a poverty franchise is nearing an end.
It still continues....
@@manzac112not for long
Oh shit, I did not realize it was you on the playback channel! Been watching you on orh channels didn't even realize it. You don't sound the same on either channel.
As a Hornets fan, this video hurt my soul. You know they've screwed up so many times, but seeing them all in one video back to back just kills you.
This guy got some facts wrong. I'm a Hornets fan from Charlotte. First, most all new expansion team struggle in the first 10 seasons. The only two Draft class the Hornets screwed up was the 2012 Draft and the 2015 Draft. Also The Hornets didn't let Kemba go, they did a sign and trade for Scary Terry. Terry Rozier put up similar numbers with Devonte Graham which Charlotte drafted in the 2nd round and Devonte was a border line All Star. The problem is that it gives Charlotte at small Back Court with two Point Guards
So I have a theory about draft picks. If you put all the front offices in a room, took away their access to data bases of all prior NBA players and internet. Then make them do a blind draft from 120 players where 60 are NBA legends and 60 are busts, but you only get position, height, wing span and weight with their last year of non NBA play stats. No age, no clue on the league where they played and only a generic name designation. Pretty sure that some legends will not get drafted even if you gave them all an hour to prepare. Analytics guys would fail and eye test guys would have no clue so they would just look at body types. This is why the draft class is a crap shoot. Unless someone is so blindingly good most people could not chose the correct player. Most teams just try to keep what works and throw away what doesnt till they fill in the blanks by luck or free agency. Others trade everything for some beans.
I wish someone would do a video on all the top draft picks that washed out only because of the situation they were drafted into. We see a lot of players come into form later in their career or after a trade so we know the right team can be as important as the talent. I wonder how many busts would still be busts if another team selected them
I'm still punching the air from the 2015 draft.....could've had Booker or the draft package from Boston 🤜🏾🤜🏾💨💨. This REALLY set them back.
Terri and Miles moves have worked out.
I dont fault them for missing on Giannis or taking Kaminsky. There was reason to believe he would be a floor spacer watching his last season in college. However the blatant lack of player development and total mismanagement of talent is infuriating. I'm an SC resident so any time I can catch NBA games I'm all but forced to watch these lackluster rosters.
You made some great points .. obviously they were making some terrible drafts picks “if they were planning on building the team solely from the draft” ... but I don’t think it’s necessarily fair to see how a player turned out & count it as a fail when that player may not have shown that much potential in college ... my point is, it’s easy to look back & point out mistakes after the fact but unfortunately none of us are psychic so i can see how these things can happen .. keep up the good work tho bro I love the content very entertaining!
Funny how they call Frank Kaminsky "tank" but cant hold himself down low
Good Documentary thanks for all the research
Never forget that Charlotte also traded Kobe Bryant on draft night. NC native but never have liked Charlotte because of their poor draft selections/player development. Love their new young core though with bridges, graham, and washigton
The small market debate really isn’t a debate in the nba. It is in the MLB, it’s really bad there. But in the NBA it’s not at all and even if you wanted to make the argument you would be arguing a very minimalistic different. The best example of a small market team ignoring the fact they are in a small market is one my favorite teams in basketball, the San Antonio Spurs. While the Spurs haven’t been good as of late, they have won five championships and had made the playoffs something like 23 years straight prior to this season. An a great example of a big market team being absolutely embarrassing is a team LOW has made a video about, the New York Knicks. It’s because of these examples that small market teams can’t use their small market as an excuse. But one of the biggest problems the hornets have is MJ himself. He wants all of the glories of being the best but the fact of the matter is, he is a mediocre execute at best.
I'm not either a Bobcat/Hornets and Jordan Exec. fan and this still hurts. If I had this team during half of this time I would've won at least 2 championships!
