Man, I'm going to have to stop watching your content at some point. The amount of times you've misinterpreted something so badly over the years is getting astounding, and the quality of this show has been in decline for quite some time now. I remember when you used to be funny and insightful, and now the passion is gone and the videos just feel lazy. Also, Billy Woods' Soundcheck should not be on this list. That is a track off a concept album that you are taking at face value without thinking of the context of the album's narrative. The only way I'll accept "Whips and chains like American slaves" in a song about women is if the woman in question is a metaphor for consumerism and chasing objects that won't make anyone happy and in the long run, will actually be more of a headache. But I highly doubt that Drake is capable of that level of metaphor. Hell, he can't write a song about his son without going one line without bragging about a car he has that you don't.
The Billy Woods one is funny because the Armand Hammer show that I went to was actually one of the better sounding live shows I’ve seen. Although he was asking the sound guys to turn the mic up a lot at the beginning, but I could still hear him before that so it came off as unnecessary lol.
Another case of RC not getting the concept I think? The point of this specific song was to sound rough, sound on the spot, sound like an unpolished, unprofessional rapper, and I don’t get from his tone he picked up on it.

8:00 might be the last time where RapCritic talks about Drake's cringe lines about female sexuality. BTW, I'm surprised RapCritic didn't put Drake in a two-way or three-way tie. His "Whipped and chained you like American slaves (from "Slime You Out")" is just as offensive as Lil' Wayne's (or Rick Ross') "Emmett Till" line. 😢
Also those are just bad writing even if they weren’t offensive. Why would you compare good cool things like sex, jewelry, and cars to fucking hate crimes. It makes the imagery confusing.
He could’ve put those other Drake lines in, but realizing that he’s contributing to Drake’s humiliation fetish is why the one Rap Critic picked wins out, lol
I really disagree with the billy placement, like really disagree. To me, you have to look at it in the context of the album. The album is about touring, travelling and burnout because of it, as well as weed addiction. The last line of his verse "After curtains, I sit for a while before I go get the check." after the entire verse where he makes it clear he doesn't care about if his shows sound good, tells us how he has gotten so tired and worn out from touring that the joy in it is completely gone and that he now only cares about the money. So saying he will not be at soundcheck is simply a way to strengthen the point of the song, as the pay will be the same regardless of the quality. The hook also reinforces this idea, claiming every victory to be pyrrhic (a victory won at too great a cost to have been worthwhile for the victor), he is making all this money but at the cost of his own happiness and mental health. As I interpret it, Soundcheck is a stupidly well written song. Oh and billy woods is the best rapper alive.
English isn't my first language so I don't really know what words are common knowledge and which aren't. I just gave it an explanation cause I didn't know what it meant when I first heard the song
So, remember when there was like a 10 Worst Lyrics from Eminem's last album, many of which were full of awful dad jokes and such? I can already think of MANY lyrics from For All The Dogs that could be on here. Including, but not limited to: "I know I'm a pitbull, but dalé mami." "I don't know how to express my love, that's why I AMERICAN EXPRESS my love..." "Whipped and chained you like American Slaves" (seriously, how was THAT not here?) and so on.
I’m gonna hot take here: The American Express line is actually solid, despite the comical delivery, and I’ll explain. He’s talking about how because of his own issues, be it a busy schedule or the fact that presumably every woman wants his money or whatever it may be that he’s forgotten how to show love properly, so he just showers women in money since that’s presumably what they want anyway. In later lines he says “all I know is hit the mall and see what damage I can do; I give you the world, but there’s other planets too,” indicating that he’s aware that he’s doing it but he doesn’t know what else to do, despite knowing there’s more to love than just spending cash. Idk to me it feels less like dumb bs and more like when The Weeknd sang about his drug fueled sex filled past making it hard for him to find real love. I think it’s actually one of the more insightful Drake lines in recent memory when you actually break down what bro sayin

Thank you for constantly calling out the anti-Semitism that's in far too many rap songs. You were the only one to talk about the anti-Semitism in B.O.B.'s "Flatline" instead of his Twitter beef with Neil deGrasse Tyson. Also, you called out Jay-Z's model minority rhetoric in "The Story of O. J.". At this point, with the shared history that Jewish Americans and African-Americans have, we have no reason to be fighting. Bigotry anywhere is a problem everywhere. P. S. - Drake's lesbian cockblocking fetish needs to stop being *my* concern.
Rap Critic was far from the only one to talk about BoB’s Flatline. Fantano had it in one of his lists that year also. Not to mention, it was being dragged all over Twitter at the time.
LOL. That's what you get when you take Billy Woods lyrics literally and out of context. The song is about the continued turmoil between his identity as a person and his identity as an artist. Abut how he doesn't want to conform and follow the protocols of the music industry. Because he later contradicts himself by saying that he actually might later on. So ultimately, he does care about how well he performs. That's why the chorus "Every victory pyrrhic". Something must be sacrificed when you're a performer or artist. It's never a clean win. And the forget every lyric - it's about how he loses himself/forgets himself. He doesn't do it out of a sense of pride. It's a lament.
And that's the reason why I had a problem with noname in the first place: I remember when she got on j Cole and basically told him that his lyrics were one of superficial thought, in which nobody is getting any deep sense of knowledge and she was praised for that. Then she turns around and does the same with her album 😅 and was getting mad about why people were handing her severe backlash for her take on Cole.
Say what you will about Drake's weird relationship with queer sexuality, but a mainstream hip hop artist sensually crooning about how being into a tomboy makes him feel like he might be bisexual fills me with a strange sense of pride for how far we've come. At the beginning of Drake's career, everyone was calling him gay just for being soft, and now he can utter the words "I feel bi" and get clowned on because it highlights just how painfully straight he really is. Progress!
"how far we've come" keep using far left propaganda slogans ...you are the good guy in this movie ...the government said so 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Name another time in history the government were the good guys ...just one ....just one 😂😂😂😂😂
I usually love your end of year videos, but billy woods being here is insane, kinda ruined the whole vid cuz I’m just thinking how is “he’s rude” all you gleaned from a Billy Woods track
His blatantly racist to the point if you changed the races around he'd legit be banned from UA-cam... Heck mainstream media might even pick up the story "racist guy hides behind music reviews to spew Klan hate" But because his black he gets away with it ... Really truly think about that bro ...forget the far left government propaganda for a minute ...
Billy Woods? Why RC why? This song means exactly opposite of what u think. RC takes everything in it's literal meaning. It bothers the F out of me. Do you even understand poetry Rc?
I respect your opinion, but I felt like you missed the point with that Billy Woods section. It was satirical and not meant to be taken seriously. Even if you disagree, I think what he does in "Soundcheck" is great and a nice commentary on an artist struggling to care. Kinda goes with the rest of the messaging of being a touring musician on "Maps."
maps being in this video is...disappointing, to say the least. your opinion is legit, but the record doesn't deserve any placement in this video considering the year hip hop has had...
Interesting that this year's video had a theme where it was mostly focused on psycho-sexual lyrics, much like last year's had a theme where is was focused on "dudes malding about women they can't have sex with anymore".
How did you not add Drake’s slavery line or his incel lyrics… Drake should’ve been half or all the list. For All The Dogs was straight Andrew Tate bs. Billy’s spot should’ve gone to him.
Maaaan these worst lyrics lists used to be funny, and I think a lot longer too. This felt like a list video lazily cut into snippets, and sure, I'm always for calling out antisemitism and other prejudices, but there was almost no humour across part one or two of this year's edition. Disappointing tbh as a long-time follower
Maybe Drake is just trying to see if he can actually destroy his own career. The problem is his fans have no standards so despite his best efforts, his career is still going strong. It’s kind of like when South Park said that they were trying to get themselves canceled but it just doesn’t work.
Seriously though does his blatant racism not bother you ? Or maybe you don't hear it because his slandering whites and you haven't been trained to acknowledge that ?
I don't wanna be the 50 millionth Billy woods comment down here a lot of you guys have done a really good job breaking down the why his verse made sense but him having a spot at all was kinda shocking to me
Oh my word yooo your entire arguement as to why peoples lyrics suck miss their intended direction and goobles the sacks of any radical liberal talking point without proper processing of the entire issue ugh
Seems like you completely missed the appeal of billy woods on this one. How is that worse than anti semitism????? I used to really respect your critiques.
Why is it okay to be racist towards whites ? Government propaganda and hero worshipping aside ... Why is it okay to hate certain groups but not others ? Sounds bigoted to me ...
If these are the worst lyrics you heard all year, you have had a fantastic year of listening to music lol Most of these won't even make my bottom 50. Except #1, that deserves all the cringe.

It is so sad to see RC completely misunderstood the verse
He does that every once and a while. It can be too literal with him lol
@@danielwhitingjr2854 Y'all: He's right here.
Because he’s not perfect
@@1rockcrawford
Did Fantano nmention the anti-Jewish sentiment?
Surprised "whipped and chained like American slaves" wasn't even mentioned
Progress!
"how far we've come" keep using far left propaganda slogans ...you are the good guy in this movie ...the government said so
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Name another time in history the government were the good guys ...just one ....just one
😂😂😂😂😂
@@TVee-nu2gb Please elucidate upon your point, here. Are you saying that the good guys are really the gay-hating bigots?
Idk, man. Soundcheck hits pretty hard in my book. Never heard of Billy woods before this video and I have him in rotation now
Billy woods is my favorite rapper
Lol ppl just now finding out about OMG
They have a Brad Taste In Music...
;)
I was surprised that a drake lyric was #1, then I remembered that it's a leap year
"Drake and His Fetish for Cringey Wordplay About Lesbians." Tuesdays at 9 on Channel 17, Tulsa's News Station!
Heck mainstream media might even pick up the story "racist guy hides behind music reviews to spew Klan hate"
But because his black he gets away with it ... Really truly think about that bro ...forget the far left government propaganda for a minute ...
As soon as i start my job, im subscribing to your patreon
Billy Woods? Why RC why? This song means exactly opposite of what u think. RC takes everything in it's literal meaning. It bothers the F out of me. Do you even understand poetry Rc?
OH MY GOD!!
Number 4 reminds me of that meme "recording and releasing music is for sellouts" 😂
Huh didn't expect to see my fav artist on here lol
It's a nice change of pace for the worst to just be cringe. Not much deeper meaning, just really poor choice of lyrics.
Drake tootsie sliding into mediocrity and badness more and more
I respect your opinion, but I felt like you missed the point with that Billy Woods section. It was satirical and not meant to be taken seriously. Even if you disagree, I think what he does in "Soundcheck" is great and a nice commentary on an artist struggling to care. Kinda goes with the rest of the messaging of being a touring musician on "Maps."
I lolled hard at the 5:15 "bad sound show simulation", so accurate with the feedback screeching and the reverb xD
maps being in this video is...disappointing, to say the least. your opinion is legit, but the record doesn't deserve any placement in this video considering the year hip hop has had...
still like the video tho lol
Interesting that this year's video had a theme where it was mostly focused on psycho-sexual lyrics, much like last year's had a theme where is was focused on "dudes malding about women they can't have sex with anymore".
His become a literal Karen, he'd fit right in with the view 😂
He'd be right at home slandering men with wiopie Goldberg
😂😂😂
Every video is about whining about race. That or "thing I have never looked into isn't real"
OOOHH MY GOD?!! i can’t believe this…
Yo I CANT believe this
How did you not add Drake’s slavery line or his incel lyrics… Drake should’ve been half or all the list. For All The Dogs was straight Andrew Tate bs. Billy’s spot should’ve gone to him.
Crashbox! Didn’t expect that but let’s gooo
0:08 HE SAID IT
Bro I saw a video of a song you did and now I can’t take you seriously anymore sorry
Speaking of sound. Did you finally get a new mic?!
I CAN NOT BELIEVE THIS
This guy is saying other people rap awkward or are cringey? I can not believe this!
Oh snap i lied 2015, dang. Almost ten years
I've been watching him since the goddamn Nostalgia Critic days. Has to be 10 years at least.
@@VinMetal666 2009?
Possibly, time flies
Oh my GOD
Cause every time I think I came across some divine luck
reality reminds me how much life SUCKS 😞🤬
Oh my God! I can't believe this.
And this is why I say EVERBODY CAN BE REACIST
Rap Critic might be the 🐐
My favorite part of the year
I'd put that entire For All The Dogs album in the number one spot tbh
Maaaan these worst lyrics lists used to be funny, and I think a lot longer too. This felt like a list video lazily cut into snippets, and sure, I'm always for calling out antisemitism and other prejudices, but there was almost no humour across part one or two of this year's edition. Disappointing tbh as a long-time follower
Maybe Drake is just trying to see if he can actually destroy his own career. The problem is his fans have no standards so despite his best efforts, his career is still going strong. It’s kind of like when South Park said that they were trying to get themselves canceled but it just doesn’t work.
Why do I why the feeling we’re about to get a Patreon Sponsored Review of Slime You Out real soon?
You really missed the point on the billy woods joint,
You should absolutely never had a song of his here
Seriously though does his blatant racism not bother you ? Or maybe you don't hear it because his slandering whites and you haven't been trained to acknowledge that ?
I'm surprised that Rap Critic when discussing the MAPS album that he didn't say anything about how Billy Woods mispronounced the word "pyrrhic".
as a man named Drake, I would just like to say I do not associate myself with Aubrey Graham
Woods being here is hilarious 😂😂😂
OH MY GOD, I can not believe this
Man now I wanna watch Crashbox 🤣🤣🤣
billy woods' placement on here just felt like grasping at straws.
His so loyal to the government though, he spreads their lies and propaganda proudly, his a good German
Bro come on how did Travis’s “I like a bi girl on a bi-cycle” not land on this list
Really good ending to the list imo
I don't wanna be the 50 millionth Billy woods comment down here a lot of you guys have done a really good job breaking down the why his verse made sense but him having a spot at all was kinda shocking to me
OH MY GODDDD
Nah that travis scott line was hot, he wasnt being genuine about voting for kanye
Travis killed people but his a black supremacist so it's cool ... If he defend white people...that would be a problem
Stan’s be like “oh rap critic misunderstood Billy woods” what was misunderstoood?
Oh my word yooo your entire arguement as to why peoples lyrics suck miss their intended direction and goobles the sacks of any radical liberal talking point without proper processing of the entire issue ugh
Wish you woulda included drake saying he taught his girl how to suck it in that number one as well 😭
rap critic came to SAVE THE DAYYYYY with this video
Seems like you completely missed the appeal of billy woods on this one. How is that worse than anti semitism????? I used to really respect your critiques.
Why is it okay to be racist towards whites ? Government propaganda and hero worshipping aside ...
Why is it okay to hate certain groups but not others ? Sounds bigoted to me ...
I think you both over- and under-analyzed Soundcheck.
It’s hilarious he’s number 1 on here considering he got his ass whipped in the beef
If these are the worst lyrics you heard all year, you have had a fantastic year of listening to music lol Most of these won't even make my bottom 50. Except #1, that deserves all the cringe.
Feeling bisexual when he's with a woman is crazy!!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
What tv show is transition thing from
Crashbox
He kind of insinuates he was sleeping with a Rothschild as well though right? "Bet you a Rothschild I get a bang for my dollar".
The last remnants of channel awesome era humor
the jay electronica one was so dumb
Number One is a lesson in asymptotes
Why do people listen to Drake again?
