The hugely emotional response to this music must come down to us through our DNA. There's no other explanation that I can see. Thank you for making it available to us!!!
^Agreed. It must be in the DNA coding... We are vibrational sponges and generators. God created this world always moving and vibrating. Quantum physics is a great attestation to this. That makes sense to be a "coding", if you will... within the foundations of our vibrational composition. Super neat. :)
Love seeing all the younger people here who love this! I'm 36 and almost my entire music collection is old music. I have a record player and hundreds of records (though I don't know what they are beyond classical, Christian and country lol) and I love the old sound. i love seeing all the youngsters in here. it means these treasures will live on for a little while longer. I grew up listening to a variety of music from a variety of time periods. and the people in my life all told me i was strange for enjoying it. i just smiled because ... they were right! I was strange! that was my God Given Right! I also enjoyed the old black and white films. it was like time traveling. it also made me aware that times back then weren't any different than they are now. just less populated. and yet there were still major wars and societal conflicts in spite of that.
That's the great thing about music .I'm 73 and love hip hop, rock, jazz and classical😂 I always say my favorite music is what I'm listening to at the moment ❤
Ever since I finished reading this one visual novel that takes place in New York during the “roaring 20s”, I’ve been interested in learning more about 1920-1930. If I had the ability to time travel all the way back then and experience it all first hand I wouldn’t think twice. The music from that era is so comforting to me and it soothes my soul, plus the fashion was so easy on the eyes as well, especially compared to todays fashion. If it was up to me, I’d go back in time and choose to be raised during that time period.
I think it's interesting that women's dress could be pretty risque, (the cha-cha, the Charleston, etc.) considering an era right after Victorian collars up to the chin and skirts to the floor. And then it went back to covering up again in the 1940s
What a beautiful virtual escape from this techy, modern day, fast-paced world. How I long to live in a world where there is still some innocence and simplicity . . . .where the little things bring us joy and comfort. It warms my heart to see the kitty and doggy blissfully sleeping side by side in the warm cozy cabin while the icy winds howl and the snow pelts against the cabin window. I also love that you can see the warm glow coming from the other cabin windows in the distance. Makes me wonder what the inhabitants in each of them is doing. Are they reading their children bedtime stories? Or perhaps fell asleep on an easy chair with a little white poodle curled up on their lap. How I wish it were possible to just escape into these virtual worlds, not just visually, but physically as well. 😌* sigh *
So Wonderful - :) I'm listening and reminded of my Dear recently passed Boss who always played his CDs; I love it and AM also a huge fan of Black &white classic movies from 1930s, 40s, 50s, 60s! Thank you and Blessings.

I'm working on some early 20th century american plays right now and playing this in the background as I do some script-work to get into the mindset. So much heart, emotion, and personality goes into these songs - it's really a nice breath of fresh air when compared to some of the overstimulating songs of this age.
