You do also receive the basketball jersey for having played a single (1) game of basketball but that should come pretty quickly lol
It's literally so easy to obtain golden outfits, I won the Chanbara one at the first attempt, literally anyone can obtain them at the first day they play
This game actually turned out pretty good after the updates, it’s sad to me it only got 1 year of updates though, and that the player base has died down a lot since then.
Finally unlocked one of these tonight (15 matches in tennis), which made me remember these actually got added. Super happy to see a to-the-point video detailing how to get them all! Thank you!

Hmm shouldnt need anything special for the golden series. All you have to do is beat powerhouse and exit back to the sport selection menu. Maybe check that your game is updated to 1.4 as well?

Really weird. If you look at 1:02 you'll notice I won 7-6 myself, so that can't be the issue. I dont think having pro on/off would matter for offline, but it certainly wouldnt hurt to give it a try. Also make sure its actually powerhouse and not the (harder) CPU mii setting.

Started playing a lot again recently and heard about the special items and knew there was no way I wouldn’t have most if not all of them already. I assumed it came with the update that added the crowns and golden outfits but didn’t see a source that stated that.
Do you know if you have to play 4v4 in football in order for the 15 games to count? Or can it be 1v1? Same with golf - I presume you can do 15 3 hole games?

About the friendship outfits, can you still earn them if the second player doesn't have an account or is the second player required to have an account in order for the first player to earn the outfit?

Yep exactly, only matches played after the update count. But to answer your other questions they can be played either online or offline, and they don’t have to all be played in a row.

No CPU has a given rank yeah, all depends on the setting you choose. Except for the legend cpu miis which you can only access through a secret button combo.

You have to complete all of the guidelines again to unlock the items, no matter if you had already done so prior to the update. Beating the powerhouse CPUs (and 200 in bowling/under par in golf) give you the golden series.

The only item like that we know of is you’ll receive the “Completist” title once you complete all 52 collections.

Nope! Each sport has a rookie outfit. The only requirement is to play 15 matches of the sport in which you want the outfit.

Nope, the “co-op” element comes from playing with a second player locally in the online mode (can also just be you with two joy cons lol)
